Seed's Poetry Corner: The Forest's Ars Poetica

There are times when being a poet in the forest is hard. For those times, I return to this. "Ars Poetica" is a slightly loaded phrase; I don't think I'm the equal of Horace, but... The Art of Poetry in the forest is complicated.

The Forest's Ars Poetica

From the words that cycle
like air in a closed room
inside my head, a question:
Where to keep them?
The forest, birthing stories
like it births sunny days,
but leaving those doves no place to land.

Keep the words efforted, push
my tines against the rocks, pushing
my words into them, if they're strong
enough that I don't break against the stones?
Leave little pale scratches, lasting.

Keep the words grounded, solid
in this world with the brush
of my hooves dancing
into the cool, wet earth,
letting me see them-- so concrete --
but cleaned away by the next hoofsteps?
Leave words for all of us to walk.

Keep the words brilliant as heaven, bright
in painstakingly-made berry ink. Blue as water's
jewels, sweet as honey, written on
the pale underside of leaves,
and eventually turning to rot?

Keep the words forceful, the rush
of sense and feeling, the pain
driving from my antlers into the flesh
of trees (my secret mark, outside of territory)
where the bark will scab it over one day,
but at least they will bear my scars?
Or do I

Let the words go, out
out, into the air
where perhaps the trees
shall cradle them,
the birds preserve them in their wingbeats
The tumbling leaves carry them,
the earth drink them to bring forth flowers,
But I will never know?

New yet old.

So its been about... Gosh I don't know how long since I first downloaded this game. My pictogram is from the first gen and just recently I decided to hit up the game again... Just because I was bored and needed something new to get into. Im sorta excited, it's been quiet a while since I attempted this sort of roleplaying.
This is what my pictogram looks like: http://i42.tinypic.com/r9fzpi.png
I haven't decided a personality for my Deer yet, but within time I might gather something together. Meanwhile, I still would love to try to immerse myself within the community. So I do hope that if we meet in game sometime. As I slowly start to learn how things around here work.

Mystery on Our...Hooves

Alo was once again at the ruins like he normally is anytime he's at the forest. And who should be there but his newest "fear" a giant raven?
So while avoiding the massibe bird as it interacted with others, Alo managed to befriend a big ol' bunny and another deer.

Seeing as I am unable to post the screenshot for some reason (thanks lap top Frown ) I can't show you their pictograms...but all three of us laid down near the ruins with the rabbit between us deer.

I don't know who the rabbit or deer was, but I can at least describe the deer as having the default adult pelt with purple flowers in their antlers and they were wearing the antelope/owl mask.
The easiest way to describe their pictogram since I have no picture is to say it looked like a house with two chimnies on either side of the roof with a sideways triangle for an "upper window" of sorts.

Maybe if that sounds like you, we can find out who the rabbit was with Alo and your deer? x3

Mate on The Endless Forest - help please!

Well, I've been reading some texts of the endless forest, and saw that we were born as a small deer, and are guided by a female aged mother, so it takes 30 days to grow, and the game lasts one year, we have to continue to procreate, there are beautiful female deer in the forest without end, but as mates? is when I get the deer and he begins to emerge around a yellow ball, leaving symbols of it? if not, then what is?

Bio~Alo

Mood: Neglected
Set: None
Health: 100%
RP Color: Navy Blue

Name:
Alo
Gender:
Male
Birth Date:
December 17th, 2011
Age:
Adult (Stag)
Friend(s):

[b]Personality:
Alo is a rather kind sort of deer. He is basically a teddy bear, willing to lay with others just to keep them company. Though he is nervous of approaching the wiser inhabitants of the Forest out of fear they don't want another silly neglected buck around, you'll often see him just watching from a safe distance away. He means well, he just doesn't have much confidence as of yet. And even if you are the one to approach Alo, there is no guarentee that he will react to your presence until the mysterious young stag is absolutly sure it is him you are addressing.
However, he does have his days and will either reject everyone for no reason or will be in a "groupy" mood. He doesn't tell many--if any--his secrets and never really gets angry. If he does become upset, he will never direct it at anyone who doesn't deserve it, though he will mostly just go off to the Great Oak and lay down with his face to the bark and his back on the world, lost in thought.
But other than his minor confidence problem, Alo is a very sweet and just sort of deer that could easily be someone's great friend or companion.

In Game-
Default
Out of Game-

Adelyte's Biography

Basic Information

Name: Adelyte
Gender: Female
Age: Doe
Status: Excited
Recent Events: None
Pictogram: Here

Appearance

Personality

Adelyte is a very shy and nervous doe around others she encounters in-forest. She often finds herself hiding behind a tree or whatever she can find, observing their behavior. Once she gains enough courage, she might venture to them and greet them as an attempt to make friends. Adelyte prefers a life of solitude because of how scared she is, but that might change.

Likes

Adelyte likes to sit and daydream at her favorite spot in-forest about the Gods and the creation of the forest. She also likes to interact with other deer in-forest once she gets enough courage to venture to them in order to simply say "Hello" and perhaps become their friend.

Dislikes

Adelyte dislikes deer that are obnoxious and get into the faces of others. She thinks of them as pesky and because of that, it's best to keep young fawns away from her. She also dislikes deer in-forest that randomly cast spells on anyone they can find. She hates being put into the spotlight and people who are mean. This is all because of her fearful personality, though, and perhaps with socialization it'll change.

History

Adelyte was always taught by her mother that she needed to be cautious because of man. She was taught that the very world she lived in was unsafe and very unfair. Her mother would tell her stories of deer that weren't cautious enough and fell into the hands of man. This frightened her and because of that, she followed her mother's lead.

Any Furries Here?

Any furries who go here on TEF?

Quote:
Furry fandom is a fandom for fictional anthropomorphic animal characters with human personalities and characteristics. Examples of anthropomorphic attributes include exhibiting human intelligence and facial expressions, the ability to speak, walk on two legs, and wear clothes. Furry fandom is also used to refer to the community of people who gather on the Internet and at conventions.

From Wikipedia

I'm really interested in the whole furry thing, although I don't really go to any of their websites yet. But I sorta consider myself... a very young furry.

And believe it or not, my fursona is actually Waterstar, except instead of a cat-deer thing, she's a pure cat. She's all white except for a little gray on her tail. I should provide a picture of her in a moments.

So if you are a furry, what's your fursona? I really want to know who else is a furry.
