I'll be honest, I let these fade out usually, but a jump start in some random RP would be great. I need a muse booster; all my characters with profiles are listed at my
Hub and there's also my
deer directory.
I'll do my best to keep up with it, but I may be lazy at color codes and the like. |D

The Ruins were often a site that most deer tended to give a wide berth. The majority of the beasts, being as superstitious as they were often found it unsettling to their tastes. They saw nothing but a crumbled architecture that only he and a handful of others knew the origins of. Of course, they were right to assume that spirits and ghouls 'haunted' the vicinity. They were harmless things though, nothing more than specters. And even then, such abnormalities were rarely sighted.
Still, Bartleby didn't complain. He quite enjoyed the environment. Especially when doused in fog, as it only assured the loneliness of the dismal place.
His metallic hooves clicked gently across the cracked tile flooring, their gleaming surfaces shining from the exposure of fire upon his candles. They flickered gently, betraying the obvious ease that the little grey buck felt. His sleepy eyes seemed to droop, lids half-closed in drowsy contentment.
"Jaar en datum weg te krassen..." he sang under his breath, strolling round and round the little parapets with a drugged smile on his muzzle. His voice was delicate, soft, small... much like his own frail appearance.
Voor als we komen te gaan..." he spoke in a language that, while not his own, was certainly unknown to ever other beast that inhabited such an enclosed space. His voice had quivered near the ending note, and he dipped his muzzle down to rub the coarse fur upon his chest, as if it hurt.
Sighing, he looked about and picked a grave at random, shaking as he folded his legs down to sit next to it. Shivering.
(sorry I took so long. I had
The small blue doe took note of the hooves clicking nearby, but did not stir; the hoofbeats were a soft, non-threatening pace. The scent of the deer was unfamiliar, but did not rise fear, and so she lay curled in front of the small grave she often frequented, and noted the other grey stag as he came into view, laying down next to a gravestone himself. He seemed cold, and the little shika tilted her head, watching him for a moment. She did not understand what he had been singing.
"Are you alright..?"
(I'm taking long too :'I No
Her voice was met with a sharp flinch and slow turn of the head to focus upon its source. Olive eyes squinted as large, spoon-like ears swiveled about in little circles to catch any external noise. The candles that were so melded to the buck's antlers seemed to brighten, emulating his surprise as they illuminated his pale grey muzzle.
For a long while he said nothing, choosing instead to outright stare at the little doe in question. Perhaps the gesture would be interpreted as rude, but it him it was merely an observation. If anything else he had hoped that she hadn't heard him some minutes earlier... how embarrassing.
He shifted his position upon her inquiry, his front legs crossing int front of himself in a most dainty manner, exposing his pretty golden hooves. His head was held high, offering a professional posture despite the dull thudding in his chest. "I'm well." he merely replied, politely, though with a tinge of a stubborn aftertaste. "Ah... you your darker pelt camouflages you quite well in this fog... I apologize for not noticing you sooner..." he dipped his muzzle in a stiff greeting. His voice was soft, tinged with an accent that most forest inhabitants would probably be able to identify themselves. The fog acted as a buffer against it, forcing him to speak up as to avoid being muffled away.
A small gust of wind ruffled his wiry coat, causing for the taut skin about his shoulders to twitch in annoyance. It was the only movement he made as he stared shamelessly at her, drinking in ever aspect of the doe's appearance.
"Um... hello, by the way." he mumbled after another uncomfortable silence. The buck had never been one for intimate social small talk, especially with does.
She'd wondered at first if
"Ah.. so you did understand me. " She dipped her head, a bit embarassed herself. "I'm sorry, I was afraid perhaps you spoke in a different language, and I had offended you somehow. You just seemed a bit lonely." She lifted her head up to face him again, one ear flicking backward to catch the sound of another passing by.
"Don't worry if you didn't see me. I'm here quite often, I'm surprised sometimes I haven't become part of this landscape." She laughed dryly, shifting herself so her swollen belly would find a more comfortable position.
For a moment she watched those flames dance in his tines, then she added, "I think you sing quite well."
(your rp is awesome. I love how you describe things ;_; )
I'm so tempted to start
do eeet.
The flames flickered back as
"Oh... I'm a deer, ma'am... of course I understand you since you're one as well..." he replied slowly, cocking his head to the side as if she had said something particularly odd. In truth, he knew what she had been implying. So she had heard him... how humiliating. Though this wasn't the first time that Bartleby had to deal with pesky eavesdroppers. No matter. He would simply play it off.
Clearing his throat with a high 'ahem', he straightened his posture. "Perhaps you've, ah, heard of me then. I do speak two tongues..." he awkwardly explained. Cheeks flushed, he bent his muzzle down to examine his metallic hooves, letting their toes click and rub together as a point of interest. "I've never seen you before..." he commented, a vain attempt to steer himself out of the limelight. "Are you in mourning?" a blunt query, though it would offer an outlet of escape should the response be affirmative. he had always hated situations like this.
Needless to say Bartleby had always been somewhat embarrassed by the more feminine tone of his singing. It was pleasant to listen to, though most certainly not among the best of male soprano voices. Much like his own elusive first name, it was a learned skill that he preferred to keep hidden. So when the occasional buck or doe caught ear of him, he simply denied their accusations, stubborn thing that he was.
The shade on his cheeks turned a darker rouge, bleeding through the thin coat of fur on his face. "You're mistaking me for someone else, I'm afraid." he replied mechanically to her compliment.
(fff thank you :'D I just wish I wasn't so late nowadays ;; )
-- you twisted my arm, haha.
The air was thick with fog and warmth, like smoke from a fire it choked her, a noose around a skinny neck, slowly tightening and forcing her soul from her body. Despite the overbearing feeling of sufforcation she was still happy to trot around and go about her day as before.
After a trip to the pound, swamp water had covered dainty white fetlocks, lapping at dandelion fur and submerging tiny salmon hooves. The hind's head was turned over her shoulder, too-long neck bent awkwardly as she stared, sharp ears pricked and fur ruffled; shoulder fur stood on end with curiousity. The appearance of another tiny blue creature had peaked her inquisitive nature. Lovelace had turned almost as if life had been breathed into her slight form, sudden and abrupt. The female then noticed out, and with a high pitched cry of 'babies!' She'd gone after the poor doe.
Gingy: At the mention of
At the mention of her overhearing him sing, he grew uncomfortable, and Kaoori was ashamed.
"Ah, I didn't mean to overhear you, I'm sorry. It was just a pretty melody. I speak two tongues myself."
The little shika tilted her head again. "I'm afraid I haven't seen you around, either. This forest has grown so vast with residents that it's so easy to miss one amongst them. "
At the question, she paused. Was she? Surely not so much anymore, but she did indeed like to keep Hoshiko company daily. At least for a little while, to let her know she was never forgotten. All of her family stopped by. If not once a day, frequently enough that it may well be.
"Ah.. no, I'm just visiting my daughter. I come here from time to time to talk to her. And don't put down your voice. I'm sure if Hoshiko has heard it, she thought it was as wonderful as I did."

Sixxxxxxxxx:
The tiny shika was at the pond's edge, grazing at some of the water weeds that grew there. It was her favorite. Switching between food and drink, her senses were on half-alert. Sensing the presence of another doe nearby, she hadn't felt the need to be on edge; she'd let her guard down. Once she'd heard the loud squeal of the other, however, she'd dropped the meal she had picked from the pond's bottom and looked up abruptly to the source, eyes widening as she stepped backward, watching the other come charging her way.

The buck's ears flopped to
He could no longer look at her, preferring instead to scan the surrounding landscape as well as he could despite the fog. There were a few bobbing pictograms in the distance, though their owners were otherwise indistinguishable. "The other language you speak... is it Japanese? You have a faint accent..." he ventured, tactlessly getting the train of conversation away from himself.
"It has become fairly overpopulated... the forest I mean." he commented, leaving out the fact that he wasn't a 'new' resident himself. "Oh... I'm Troy, by the way." he introduced, offering the doe his middle name. He had found himself using it quite frequently these days. It just gave off such a dignified air despite his lack of a proper title.
At the mention of the doe's daughter, his hardened expression softened, if only for a moment. "Oh... did I disturb you? I apologize. I... ah... I can leave if you want me to." he babbled, making a move to unfold his legs from underneath. The sensation caused for another small pang of discomfort in his chest cavity, and he slunk back down, trembling. "What... What's her name?" he asked, his light voice cracking slightly. The compliment regarding his voice was tossed aside, though the reddened hue on his cheeks had deepened from her words.
(I'll get to this when I get
Are you making fun of my x's
Other's emotions were foreign to her and so she didn't recognise the other's surprised expression at all. Lovelace was clueless and she was stupid. The female froze several times to stop and pull her leg to her chest, ears pricked as if uncertain herself, listening carefully for something she might've missed.
Oblivious.
Though soon she was sliding after poor Kaoori again, marble eyes upon her swelling stomach. "Babies?" She purred as if unsure, odd as she wasn't particularly fond of fawns; perhaps it was the blue hind's appearance that had caught her attentioninstead.
Gingy: "mm, you're right.
"mm, you're right. I do speak Japanese, although not as much anymore. It tends to confuse too many. I do teach it to my children, though. I don't know if they'll ever need it, but, it does allow me to tell them secrets for only their ears." She chuckled a bit.
She could tell he seemed somewhat uncomfortable in her presence, but she tried her best to help him relax, loosening up a bit herself and moving a bit away from him so he didn't feel crowded by her. She would not move too far away from Hoshiko, however.
"It is nice to meet you, Troy. My name is Kaoori. Please don't leave.. I'm sure Hoshiko, " she nodded to the tiny grave and gravestone she sat by, "would enjoy your company as much as I would."

Kaoori stiffened, watching the doe; she seemed hellbent on approaching, yet seemed uncertain herself. She decided to give the other a chance, but stood guard, ready to flee at a moment's notice if need be. Not that she could run too fast; She'd turned into a giant blue watermelon at this point.
At Lovelace's question, Kaoori almost burst into laughter; it was so innocent, almost like a child's. She nodded. "Yes.. babies. You are right."

"Ah."
She froze a short distance from Kaoori, sharp ears upturned as she watched the small hind, intruiged and confused. "How does it feel?" Lovelace inquired, extending her long neck, head bowed. In her head she imagined a tiny fawn, swimming about in an endless abyss, she wondered what it was like to be born, which then brought around the question of what it was like to die. Her mind buzzed with questions and thoughts, lips moving wordlessly. Do you like it? Will they be long? Do they speak?"
(that's a really cute thought
She listened to the other's questions, so childlike, but still so very serious. After a moment, she relaxed, beckoning the other hind to follow her to the shore where she could rest. When she settled, she spoke.
"Well, I guess I could say it feels funny, to have someone to carry around. But you never feel alone, and you know you have someone you have to care for, another life that truly depends on you for everything. It sort of... changes you. Not much else matters but that other life.. "
She paused. "Of course I like it!", she laughed. " As for long, I shoudl hope not, I hope they look normal, or at least like their mother and father. And they don't speak yet.. but I know they can listen."
Pffft she's dense, god help
--
She listened intently and nodded every now and then, thoughts shifting to a baby Lovelace, safe and secure inside a glass bubble of her very own, never having to think about danger, because there would be someone there, always. A slight frown crossed her pearl face, a curious thing. "They don't speak? Why not?" The doe questioned, imagining these tiny Kaoori look-a-likes with no mouths, cursed to be unable to eat, drink or speak. How do you know they listen? Have you /seen/ them? What do they do?"She questioned, obviously not getting the concept of pregnancy very well. She dipped her head to look at the blue hind's stomach, studying it.
Kaoori's not always exactly
AND ROFL I LOVE HER THOUGHTS SO MUCH.
---
Oh, dear, this was going to be interesting.. Kaoori shifted and settled again, then motioned to Lovelace to rest beside her. "Why don't you have a seat? I'll.. try to answer your questions." Pausing, she tried to think of the best way she could to explain it all.
"They can't speak.. not yet. I suppose I can imagine how they feel, because I feel I have a connetion to them-- if I feel frightened, they seem to react to my fear. If I am happy, they are calm as well., so they seem to listen to my feelings. I have not seen them. I can imagine what they look like.. but I will only truly know when they are born."
She watched the other doe staring at her stomach intently, and laughed quietly. "I suppose they eat, because they make me very hungry. And they sleep, and grow. Maybe they can talk to one another. And they're gathering strength, for the day they are born."
LOL she's so weird |: KAOORI
--
She did as suggested, skinny frame beside the blue doe, perhaps uncomfortably close to her. Lovelace's eyes didn't leave the female's stomach, gentle frown on her face as she continued to make use of that wild imagination, tiny fawns having a long and complex conversation, maybe sipping from little china tea cups. Her knitted eyebrows became moreso after that, disgust briefly in place.
She never wanted to carry a child, if it meant that it fed from you, sapped your strength and then left.
Have you done it before?" Was her next question, ears pricked.
ROFL NO NOT
RRRRRRRRRRRRROFL BEBES DRINKING TEA. WITH MONOCLES.

Kaoori was fascinated herself at this doe, somuch like a fawn herself, staring down at the shika's large belly that had affectionately been referred to as a 'watermelon'.
"I have done this before. Three times now.. "
Almost four. She could not count Hoshiko.
"It isn't easy. But you always think of the fawns."
If it weren't for my homework

Perhaps Kaoori can meet with Mitsuko? They're both Japanese so that could be better, especially since Mitsuko cannot speak English.
NOTE: Mitsuko speaks Japanese, but because I don't know Japanese that well (it's a hard language) I'll just write her thoughts and words in English, and i'll write some in Japanese. So just pretend the English is in Japanese.
------
The white fawn stood underneath the trees by the pond. This is where she had been all day- in fact, ever since Mitsuko had arrived in the Endless Forest, she had been spending all her time at the pond- Either running up and down the river, splashing along the shallow waters, or laying beneath the trees.
However, Mitsuko was no ordinary fawn. She was the only deer in the forest that saw the old Willow Trees as Cherry Blossom Trees; the only one who saw the cherry blossoms flowing in the wind. As she watched the pink leaves floating on the pond's surface, she was reminded of a song they once sung in her native land of Nippon. The fawn quietly sung...
"Sakura, sakura,
noyama mo sato mo, miwatasu kagiri,
kasumi ka, kumo ka, asahi ni nio.
Sakura, sakura, hanazakari.
Sakura, sakura,
yayoi no sora wa, miwatasu kagiri,
kasumi ka, kumo ka, nioi zo izuru.
Iza ya iza ya, mi ni yukan."
She blinked. Why did I just do that? Mitsuko yelled at herself. Singing my native songs will just make me miss Nippon even more!
She was not aware another deer had heard...
Of course between Dinamo and
------
The weather was good and her body was healed..so why shouldn't the tiny grey doe have fun?
As soon as she was sure as she could be that she was alone, the doe named Dinamo lay down in a tall ocean of multicolored flowers, washed over and hidden by the waves of flora. So she inhaled, her hairless, fleshy nostrils flexing as a wave of fragrant, pollen filled air.
What she did next could have definitely been assumed. Legs suddenly whipping upwards, the little doe situated herself so she was laying on her back. As soon as she felt comfortable, she wiggled her body so her spine contorted from side to side. All the while, her legs flailed around in the air, constantly twisting and switching to keep her on balance.
Her face could not even be described.
(sorry this took so long
Blue-
Kaoori had been resting nearby when a familiar melody made its way to her ear, a small voice singing one of her favorite songs from her birth home. She stood slowly, making its way to the source. A small white fawn sat under the trees, singing to herself.
"You sing well", she remarked in Japanese. [=#800080]"I see you know Japanese, too. Where do you come from?"
-----
Dina:
Kaoori wasn't far from that flower patch, and she couldn't hide a grin as she watched the other small doe enjoy the spring day rolling in the flowers. She longed to do it too, but she was too afraid she'd roll over and not be able to get back up, much like a turtle. Instead, she was content to watch.
"Having fun?"
She hadn't known the other doe was hoping to be in private.
You sing well Mitsuko was
Mitsuko was startled by the voice, but calmed after she saw it was just a small, lovely shika. Why thank you. I usually don't sing much... She said. She usually only listened to her parents singing, or some other deer of her herd. She remembered once she had gotten very close to a deer to hear her sing, but when the doe saw her... everything changed. But she wasn't to think of that now.
"I see you know Japanese, too."
It's the only language I know. My parents told me there are many other languages in the world, and they also spoke that I might need to learn another language soon... something about leaving our home. Mitsuko explained, wondering deeply what her parents might have meant.
"Where do you come from?"
W-what do you mean, where do I come from? Do you mean... this isn't Japan?
Don't apologize.
{e} -fart fart farts around, being an impatient

Dinamo had not heard the other small doe approach; but as soon as she heard the soft words, the grey doe froze. Legs mid-air, she recognized the blue one as a doe she had both heard of and seen before. Trying to think quickly, she rolled over and lay comfortably, her grey hair tangled with flower petals and debris. "Yes.", was her answer; because honestly, she was having a splendid time.
Shaking her body, the doe then rose and was glad to find that they were both near the same height, though finding she still had to slightly crane her head down. Feeling a dead weight in her hair, she shook her head briskly; her grey and curled hair whipping around as pieces of nature slowly floated to the ground. A pop was heard and the grey froze as fast as she could, groaning with pain. At least all of the stuff was out of her hair, right? "I've seen you before..and yet I fail to recall a name.", the doe suggested, waiting for a name to finally match to the face; all the while letting the stinging pain in her neck die down.
Dinamo, Blue- I apologize
Blue:
Kaoori's head shook, frowning slightly. This little fawn seemed confused. "no.. this is not Japan, I'm afraid.. you've traveled far. When did you get here? How did you get here?"
----
Dina:
Kaoori heard the pop; she winced. She'd hoped the other was okay.
"I know that i've seen you too...", Kaoori thought for a moment. "Dinamo, isn't it?" she smiled. She hoped. If she'd gotten her name wrong, that'd make for a -real- nice first impression.
"My name is Kaoori."
No! I know that I still would
------
The small stinging in her neck died down, as she expected, just a moment later. She nodded next, partly to test her neck, to see if large movements caused her neck to hurt, or if it was all movements; and partly in agreement with the blue doe's first statement. When the other doe mentioned her name, it caught the grey by surprise. She smiled broadly, glad that he name seemed to have gotten around, but then it faded when she realized she was the only one of the two that didn't remember the other's name. "Yes, that is my name. You sharp thing, you."
The stupid worry faded when the other doe revealed her own name, and her face looked dumbstruck. "Of course! Heh, it's nice to finally meet you Kaoori.", she said genuinely, eyes immediately drawn to Kaoori's large belly.
Ah, she remembered those days. It made her smile again, her face looking sentimental and slightly melancholic. "You are expecting?", she tried to ask politely, hoping that even though that they had just met, two acquaintance-does speaking about pregnancy was acceptable.
"Yes, twins.. very soon,
"Would you care to sit with me?"
