You're not suppose to get angry if someone uses the same set as your deer.
Obviously there is only so many sets yada yada yada.

BUT

One day you're browsing the community site and there is a new deer.
So you click the link.

This deer is an aggressive character who..I don't know lets say they eat the boy parts of male deer.
And their hostile boy part eating dear wears the exact. same. set. as your main deer.
Not the one you play occasionally for fun.
This is serious.
This is the deer people *know* you by.
The one you write for.
The one you draw for.
The one you have in plots.

How would you react to this?
Would you be worried about mix-ups between your deer?
Afraid you'll loose friends because everyone will mistake your deer as the boy part nommer?
Or would you simply not care?

Figured I'd throw it out there.
Sooner or later I know someone is going to make an evil character that wears the same set as my favorite deer Furfur (It's a pretty stereotypical "ghost" set) and I honestly am not sure the *appropriate* way to react to it.

Has it happened to anyone before?
Any experiences to share?

As far as my reaction,

First of all: I'd tell them. I'd make sure there is a notice on their biography and my deer's biography in the comments that their deer wears the same set as my non-aggressive deer. Just in case someone stomps over to the wrong bio going "STOP HARASSING ME" or skips over to the wrong bio going "OMG YOU WERE SO FUN TODAY".

If problems persisted:

I'd put a notice on my deer's biography so they don't mix up the characters with a link to their deer.

I'd probably be on the watch for any "who is this deer?! >8C" posts in case someone mistakenly said "Oh that's Alec's deer".

I would probably not react. I would just stay confident that nothing would happen, and if something did then I would consider making small changes to my deer's set. And I'd probably set straight that my deer is completely different from the aggressive deer. But that's only if problems did arise. c:

Furfur has a picto twin

Their picto is identical except for 1 little line.

Luckily they're pretty much a sweetheart from what I can tell.
But it gets kind of weird when my friends go ":o Is Furfur in forest?"
"no"
"..wut? I see him"

I've had a similar situation

I've had a similar situation where SS has a very similar picto to Walter's and often in-forest and on the site, people would confuse us.

Back then I'd be all spazzy about it but now I'm just used to it.

There'd be less set conflicts if people gave different masks a try.

(Like NOT the skull mask and real deer mask)
AND if people tried new antlers for a change (NOT the real deer antlers).

You'll be surprised about how many incredible set combos there are out there that no one has ever used!

I think you ARE right, VCG. I mean, people ALWAYS wear real deer antlers, skull mask, real deer mask... you know. Typical. I DO admit though, I wear that sort of stuff...

People never wear those yellow spiral horns. I have NEVER seen anyone with those horns as part of their set.

In fact, I saw a deer with a set I really like. I'm afraid if I wear it, they'll start chewing me out. I won't menton their user name, but they wear beluga pelt, real deer mask, and those little grey antlers with the two tines..

If THAT happened to me, I would personally feel upset. If some boy part nomming deer was being mistaken for one of my deer, I would NOT like it. I'm proud of the sets I wear, so I would ask them to either STOP being a boy part nomming deer or change their set.

I don't think I have any pictos resembling mine anyways.

I'd say don't worry about it,

I'd say don't worry about it, but that's just me. I've seen a few deer who wear Quad's exact set, and when not, well I've seen probably 1,000 deer who wear the real deer mask with beluga pelt, and so far haven't seen any of them make bios that they eat fawns or are a doe-killers. If it happens, then say something about it to the person doing it.

I honestly don't see why you would get the "guilt by association" verdict since they should know your picto anyway.

I don't think I'd be annoyed

I don't think I'd be annoyed with the player who made the Nommer, I'd be more annoyed with any players who didn't check pictograms before jumping any deer just because they look like someone. There are too many players in TEF now to use sets as a way to identify people, it's just that simple.

I don't think I'd be annoyed. I expect people recognizing me from my pictograms rather than sets, like I myself recognize other people.
More concerned I am when there's very similiar pictogram. I have a picto that haves at least two almost exactly identical 'copies'. In fact so similiar you can't really tell the difference in-forest unless you really put the two next to each others and compare their slight differences. And that caused some confusements. But even then I expected people recognizing my character from picto+set.

Although I might feel a little, "Kldfhfdg;-;" when I first see the clone, I'll be fine afterwards especially because all of my deer's actual designs differ from their in-game appearance. And since it'd be a main character of mine and has a lot of writings/art/screenie edits/etc., I'd be comforted knowing that a lot of others know the difference. I'd be a bit more iffy if the clone deer's personality was the same/similar, though :/
There's a deer with a similar pictogram to Plague but I believe it is a doe and the set is different. I never change sets so if a friend accidentally approaches the wrong deer, they'll see it's not me C: They can always ask if they're not sure~
I would leave a link to my deer's bio in the comments of the other deer's, just so they are aware that there's another out there with that set. They might even change theirs, which would be better but of course not necessary if they don't want to &hearts

Basically, I'd be fine. xD
