Let's Talk About Fun
Personally, I like the idea of being a bit more realistic. I think by not having a chat it solves a lot of problems. Problems such as drama, inappropriate roleplaying, and bullying. I am sure there are good things about having a chat such as getting to know each other, but I think it's better the way it is now. I do find that members usually just sleep around the forest, don't do much, and when someone wants to play or just have fun... it seems the whole forest is in a deep slumber that won't be awoken by some deer. I do recommend fixing that problem, but I also recommend going on in the mornings as it seems the deer are more active.
I also kind of find it sad, but I understand the authors are busy... that 'playing god' as churned out to be a feature in the game that has become quiet dusty and neglected. By neglected I mean they don't use it much. Night never comes, there are never really any fun weather to spark some fun. Due to lack of excitement the forest seems to become dull and the game becomes kind of lonely and boring. I still find it fun, and enjoy sometimes just resting... but I would like some fun activity going on.
I also feel that there should be some more events the members can participate in, because I think a big reason why most fawns kind of stray from the game and may even leave is because everything is so inactive. If we are looking to get more members, I suggest creating fun things they can do so they don't see it as just some dull community lounging around the forest. I love this game, and I enjoy that it is relaxing as well.. but wouldn't it be nice to just really REALLY have fun? Meet new friends, and play? :3 Hope this helped.

Hmm, when are you playing?
Everyone has their own style to play this game, and I don't think that choosing to keep the game running in the background and sleeping/resting is a bad thing. If you pop in during the right hours, there will be more deer for you to play with than you even have the energy to do. I reckon many here open the game to relax given the game's artistic and simplistic nature. I personally open the Forest to get a small break from the drama that is life, and to get a moment to calm down from my busy days. The sounds and the ambience of the Endless Forest are magnificent, and I usually play another game if I want some action in my life... not that I need any more of it, haha.
Many of us run it in the background and just enjoy the atmosphere of it while doing something else. I am sorry that you are finding the experience dull, perhaps you have been unlucky to log in at times when most of us are asleep.
I just don't think this is a problem. It's just the way some choose to play to relax.
The Endless Forest was
I think your idea of wanting to help organize some get-together for more 'active' players is a great suggestion! I've seen several blogs lately that mention they find the game boring because of all the sleeping deer.
Just try to keep in mind that sleeping deer are mechanically fundamental to enjoying the game (pelt spells, anyone?). Running the game in the background or as a screensaver is just as valid as your way of having fun.
@Mary13 @Terabetha Thank
Thank you guys for the positive feedback first off! I agree as well, as the game is very soothing and helps me relax after doing some hard work.. or just having a bad day. I usually jump on in the mornings and evenings. I just had to leave from the game a few seconds ago as I was tired, and had to go do some work but I met a large group of others that are literally the sweetest X3 Since I am a bit new and figuring out how to locate things and just getting used to the area, I was lost and they came and guided me around the forest and helped me out. They were really nice and we even messed around and cast spells on each other.
I agree that it's not really a problem, and sorry that I made it sound that way. I was just coming on at the wrong time, and didn't exactly really look into the fact that some people use it as a calming method or just a way to let go. I have actually been viewing a few blogs, and was a bit upset though that the way they worded it was kind of rude, but I agreed something needed to be said... just in a nicer manner if you know what i mean. I had gone around a bit and saw that there are members who wish they 'played god' a little more which is something I hope to see in the future more as this place grows further, but with the fact there phase four just got rejected... I can tell that the authors have their hands full and are working hard.
