What a (TEF) dream I had last night!

Yeah! I had an TEF dream last night! And what a weird one...
In my dream, a new TEF phase was there. But it was really strange there: There was at one site the Forest, just like we know it, but behind it - a big city! xD At the website stood that our deer had to learn how to live like a human and live in houses. But everyone thought that was a horrible idea, I think... Well, "I" did in this dream xD And then, somehow, I were as a human in this game... it was weird. ^^
But yeah, even a little truth came into my dream: I've read, that M&A think about something like that for a new phase: "As you keep playing, you will grow and your antlers will take on a unique shape." from here (tough this site seems to be a little old...): in my dream, I saw some stags and fawns having similar-looking antlers, but everyone of them looked a little different.
And umm, more I can't remember. xD I just felt to tell you. ^^

I've been having TEF dreams for the past several nights. Last night, I had one where my mom couldn't find something, and I told her to put nature detail up to the highest level, so she could find it. 8|

The night before, I had a dream about Lemon and the phantom. |D I'm terrible.

I guess this is where I officially know that I am, and always will be, a dork? |DDDD

I don't M&A's plans at all x.x

I don't want a mother deer guiding me through the Forest! And I don't want to spend my game time reproducing. Blegh...

'Your deer avatar will live for a full year. If you want to continue playing with all the abilities you've gathered, you will need to procreate. There are plenty of attractive hinds in the forest. Perhaps you can persuade them. But better make sure you chase away your competitors with those awesome antlers of yours.'

I don't want this, k? I want my deer to be a DOE. ;_;

I thought I was the only one

I thought I was the only one who felt this way, Avani. x_________x
I'm not liking M&A's future plans one bit; it takes all of the community out of TEF. But I figured my feelings were only because I'm new to TEF, and I guessed that older members felt differently.

But I agree, I think M&A would be better off continuing down the road they're currently on, and focusing on continuing to make this a relaxing and interesting non-game, not implementing so many of these 'realistic' things.

Oh wow, I never even saw those plans. I don't like that at all either ;_;. I think we should be able to choose deer genders and choose to have offspring on our own and with whomever we'd like...(or not at all) >__<'

Yeah... I don't like the plans either... in my dream I thought, "WHY did they change this game so completely?"... A really realistic thought for a dream. xD I somewhere heard that you "work on" fears and wishes at night. Maybe this was a fear I needed to handle at night? ^^

I had a TEF dream myself

I had a TEF dream myself last night. (well, more like this morning after having been awake and asleap a number of times. I literally slept the entire day due to getting unusually sick.)

Anyway... In my dream, I was my doe... who also felt sick for some reason - appearantly bad blueberries. She/I was trying to sleep between the twin gods for some comfort. While sleeping, I began to hear some strange music, like what you'd hear in an abiogenisis. Waking up she/I found myself/herself still between the twin gods, but about five of my best friends in the forest were gathered around, and the twin gods were performing a mini abiogenisis just for us, involving a musical light show..

It was really quite sweet a dream. <3

I also am not up for the

I also am not up for the plans. I'm sure if they were planning on making any changes that are big, they'd take a vote. I like the antlers with the unique shape, but only if you can keep the same STYLE of antlers you already have. Not liking the re-producing idea, or fighting.... PLEASE M&A we came to the endless forest for a reason. Keep it the same.

I think there are more people against then with this idea, to be honest.

@ Mystress: You have a point about the voting, but its still THEIR game. So we can only hope they will listen to us before changing the game!

What Rowan said was a good idea, to be able to choose gender. Although, if that would mean antler less does I'd vote against it XDD
Anyway, just expanding The Forest with new places is okay too. Just keeping the rest the way it is. Or maybe some new emotions/actions! Lol, now I'm getting way to enthusiastic.

I know, I still think that

I know, I still think that they deeply respect what their players do. If they didn't, there wouldn't be places we could contact them over making it dark outside for the New Year's eve/Lightbringer party thing. We wouldn't be able to talk with them (I think that's so cool.) on the forums (even though I don't like the forums) about lots of stuff.... We wouldn't have chosen pictures on the front page, and we wouldn't have a new calander. W wouldn't have Abiogenisis'... We wouldn't even have a community website where we could talk about what we think about the game, or make contact with other players about how we like the game. We wouldn't have sections of concept art if they didn't care what changes we wanted to see. And they also wouldn't make a pole about how many girls/boys there were playing--if they didn't care..... I think M&A do care, but I just have to hope that something like CHANGING THE FORST ITSELF would be big enough that tey would want to hear about what WE want first....

Think about it this way, how many players do we have right now? With NO changes to the forest? A TON! They would want to know how many players wouldn't play as much, dislike, or even LEAVE the forest if they change it without a majority of us saying "no"....? I played runescape for years, and when Jagex changed the graphics of the game to where everything and everyone looked different than you remembered it--- about 25% of their OLDEST (as in how long they'd been playing) and most experinced players left... That's a lot considering they have 100k people playing everyday... They didn't switch it back, and I know I don't play half as much as I used to... And I don't like it now.... Jagex didn't take a vote. They didn't care. M&A do and that's the point.

Hahaha, I know. x3 It's just that I see all these newcomers suggesting things like, "Oh, we should have a chatbox in the game", or "We should have a mating function lol" or "-insert other terrible idea here". Everyone always replies saying something to the effect of, 'once you've played the game for a while, you'll understand why it is how it is.' So I assumed my opinion was the same sort of thing, and I kept my mouth shut. |D

As for choosing genders, I've never understood why they're so against female characters. I understand the whole analogy to an author not being questioned about his character choice... but the thing is, it's not a book. It's a game. With avatars that you control and customize to your liking.

And to go along with their chosen analogy; is it the game developers trying to tell a story, or are we players telling the stories of our deer? I always thought the latter was true. The developers offered us an amazing and breath-taking setting, some characters to choose from, and the occasional event to spice things up. But we're the ones controlling the deer. So aren't we, in a sense, at least coauthors?

Well put, and I agree wholeheartedly. I know M&A care about the community, and I haven't even been here very long. They've put a lot of care and devotion into the game and it's players; I honestly don't think we have to worry about losing the game that we've come to know and love. Especially since I have yet to find someone who is excited for the game's future to arrive...

If you ask me, I'd love to see M&A carry out their plans, but on a separate game. It seems like something educational. But I don't think it would be a good addition to the endless forest. :c

Wow, a big discussion my dream has created, huh? ^^
I don't think they will do this without even asking. M&A are nice gods, you know, and it was their purpose to come closer to us, the players, with Abios, editing in the Forest (for example the snow today) and so on. And, if I think right, it seems like this game suggestions are old... when they wrote it, there didn't seem to be the spells already or even Abios, because they write about it as if it were something completely new...
So relax guys, I believe in our gods that they won't change the Forest completely without even asking or voting! It was just my stupid dream, remember. ^^
