In the Violets Patch...

My mind was dark.
The sounds of the forest made no noise in my ears as I lied there asleep next to her.
The steady rhythm of our breaths made some sort of a lullaby.
Then she moved.
I felt her lift her head off my side.
She whispered to me.

"Jake it's time."
No one had told me, but I knew it was so.
I lifted my head and shook the blonde tresses from my face.
I wanted this to be quiet, just us, so I stood and motioned for him to follow.

I rose quickly. Quietly.
Her stomach bulged from her sides.
I stepped beside her, letting her lean on me for support.
I followed her.

I walked slowly, careful not to disturb our child.
In a few ours we were to be a family, such a strange thought.
As we arrived to the patch of violets the memory of our first meeting graced my mind and I sat slowly.
"A few hours~"

My heart raced.
I sat beside her in the violets, moving closer to her.I watched her closely, intensely.
"Are you alright?" I asked.
I was anxious.

I chuckled softly, reaching over to nuzzle my mate.
The feeling of pride caught be swiftly,
I was proud to be having his fawn.
I was proud to be associated with him.
I was proud to be his mate.
"I'm fine, don't fret."

I smiled at her.
Her eyes made my heart thunder in my chest.
She is my love.
She is my life.
She is my mate.
I shuffled a little to make myself comfortable.
"I will anyway."

I couldn't contain my happiness.
To the side of me was my love and to the other was the final piece of our family.
Our family.
It was so odd, thinking about it I mean.
Even though I was exhausted I felt so proud!
I shifted, pushing my torn red cloak over the tiny body of our child.
"Sleep~"

My heart felt like it would burst.
I sat there beside Red, and beside her laid our fawn.
He was so small.
The red coat fit him almost perfectly.
