@faunet: Giggling, the light flew out of her hands, floating just before her face. Its glow illuminated their surrounding, and true enough, they were below water. The light from the crescent moon above shone hypnotically through the waves . Dancing like ghosts next to the little light. And even though it was below water, Tazanna could breathe just fine.
The light flickered.
It seemed excited...
And then it flew downwards, towards the bottom...
@Quad: The girl giggle-barked again, petting him more enthusiastically, her pale, little hands seeming completely white in the moonlight, just like her ball and her kimono.
She seemed to be completely black and white, as if she had been take straight from an old photograph. Then again, the rest of this world was in the grey part of the colour-spectrum as well, so she hardly stood out at all.
It was a scenery very much like the one he'd just been in, but somehow more unreal... like a dream within a dream. Everything seemed uncanny and the shadows and light were both massively exaggerated, making everything look like an inked drawing.
The samurai swung his katana powerfully, cherry blossoms blowing about him... And there was the girl, giggle-barking again, running towards the samurai...
@faunet: The light giggled ahead of her, its glow growing more and more faint as it flew downwards, hidden by the water... Soon the surrounding started changing as Tazanna's eyes grew accustomed to the dark.
Huge, long, broad leaves of seaweed swayed gently around her, massive, black shadows against the dark-grey background of the sea. They were cool and gentle, still smooth to the touch and slightly spongy.
She marveled at the seaweed and touched it like it were an animal stroking it.She didn't follow the light she stayed where she was."So beautiful"She murmered
She twirled around in the water and giggles as the seaweed unknowingly tickled her,
"Wait! Little girl!", Quad Wolf heard his voice call out, but in the dream he was only observing. He was deathly afraid that the little girl would be accidentally struck down by the samurai while he was practicing.
He watched in horror, afraid that this wouldn't happen. He felt powerless.
Kaoori sniffed at the mirror, uncertain as to what to do with it. She tilted her head, and as it shimmered, it startled her, causing her rear end to puff up.
@faunet: The forest of seaweed grew denser as she swam around it, stroking her, caressing her, the touch of it almost like the gentle hand of a human being but much smoother and colder. It was refreshing and comforting at the same time, a leaf of it running from her chin up her cheek in a gentle gesture.
It almost felt alive...
@Quad: But the little girl didn't hear him, instead she just continued towards the practising swordsman, ball in hand and white robes flowing about her.
The samurai didn't seem to spot her at all, as if she were invisible to her, even as she ran up in front of him, as if lured in by the shining blade... Just as it came down towards her and she gave a surprised gasp.
@Kaoori: But the object remained still in front of her, reflecting her softly in its silver surface.
...
But one part of the image wasn't hers...
Eyes...
Small, white, glowing eyes, like twin moons caught behind the glass.
And at that moment, Quad Wolf no longer felt himself to be an observer, but he was there with her. He bounded toward them, seemingly in slow motion, the blade coming within inches of the girl's face.
"Aaaaaawwwwwwooooooooooooo!!!"
The wolf pushed her out of the way just in time, the blade slicing into his chest rather than into the girl's. He felt a surge of pain rush through him, and the katana drew blood quickly - that which was actually red in color rather than monochrome that began to spill onto the soft dirt.
The little doe stepped back, once again spooked. But anyone who knew Kaoori knew that she seemed to attract danger like a moth to a flame. Slowly she placed her step forward again, peering at those white eyes.
@faunet: As she thought so, it was almost as if the water, the seaweed the world itself chuckled and only caressed her more lovingly.
Somewhere far away there was the giggle of the light, but it was so very far away... And the seaweed was so nice and gentle...
@Quad: The girl gasped in startled shock as she was pushed out of the way. Looking back over her shoulder, one bright, white eye peeking out from her curtain of hair, she suddenly opened a mouth much too large and full of teeth for a little girl and let out a huge, resonating howl, a howl with a word in it. "NOOOOO!"
The howl shook the world, blurring the sharp shadows and bright light, obscuring the samurai into oblivion. And suddenly... Quad wolf awoke.
He was back in the field of haystacks, a slight dullness in his chest and a small, black thing laying there too... His chest that seemed a lot less furry than it had been just a moment ago.
@Kaoori: The eyes blinked. And then suddenly pinched themselves, as if their owner was smiling.
They were huge, round and curious and had an innocent look in them.
Suddenly words appeared on the surface of the mirror; "Will you enter?..."
"Little light I'm going to stay here for a bit"she called to it.She danced around in the seaweed for awhile it was almost as if were a long lost friend."Your alive too aren't you"she mused to the seaweed
@faunet: The light giggled in the distance, seeming much further away already, like a dream on the run.
The seaweed shivered as she spoke to it and somewhere in its garden of waving limbs, a low, purr-like chuckle was heard. It sounded male and like it ate cigarette-buds for breakfast, but pleasant and trustworthy none the less...
It reached out for her gently, a leaf stroking her hair in a loving motion...
She thought the sound was male then she grew uncomfortable with it touching her.Although seeing as it surrounded her she didn't have much choice. It seemed pleased with her.
"Magnificent"she whispered to it
"Do you like my company "she questioned.
He sat up, still a little drowsy from the dream. This whole place seemed like a big dream to him, he was starting to lose touch of reality.
He noticed his chest was different. And then he saw the black thing on the ground. Tilting his head, he approached it and began to sniff it curiously like any dog would do.
He looked up, hoping the little girl was there, hoping she could answer his questions, but he got the feeling that he was currently alone.
@Kaoori: The mirror absorbed her like thick, stale water, cool and pleasant yet stifling for a moment. When she landed on the other side, her hooves touched grass, only it wasn't really grass... It looked like grass, but it almost seemed like it was made of crystal. Everything was cool, not bone-chilling, but a pleasant temperature, like a warm autumn evening.
She was surrounded by tall, transparent shapes on all sides, like trees, but strangely crystalline, just like the grass. There was the sound of a river some way away...
@faunet: The seaweed answered her by caressing her cheek softly, its long, cool leaves trembling and shivering gently in the current. It started twisting in front of her, creating knots and weaving into itself, almost as if trying to create a shape...
@Quad: The tiny thing smelled like dog... It was a dog! Or rather a puppy. A small, black thing with big, white eyes and long fur. It gently awoke as he sniffed it and wagged its small tail.
And giggled.
She touched the seaweed on her cheek and smilled, then she notcied it was trying to form into something.
"You can do it"she encouraged her voice was sweet and kind unaffected by the water.
Quad Wolf's eyes were now focused enough to where what he thought was a little statue had become a living, breathing puppy. He jumped a little, startled at first, but then he said, "Oh, it's you!"
He took a step forward, sniffing the puppy again, now certain that this was the little girl he had seen earlier. He couldn't resist to speak, "Please, can you tell me what is going on here? I'm so confused..."
He sat and lowered his head so he could be closer to the puppy's level. He didn't want to feel too big and strong.
@faunet: The seaweed kept twisting, forming a tightly-knit web of black-and-grey leaves, soon forming what looked like a triangle... then making long, straight lines out from the top and bottom... then a circle...
It was forming a body.
@Quad: Looking at Quad with a small smile, the puppy soon stood up and licked at his face, his nose that somehow seemed smaller, his cheeks that felt oddly bare...
It got up and nudged at Quad, wanting him out into the moonlight, out from the shadow in which they were sitting.
And it tugged at him by some white fabric that hung on his body...
A white kimono.
-----------------
Do you mind if I already give Quad his human shape now? >w< You see it makes sense in my head to do it now : D;;
She cocked her head curiously as she realized what it was doing she stoked a piece affectionately and whispered "Your almost there"she said encouragingly
@faunet: And soon, the body had formed. It was male, tall, swaying gently with the rest of the seaweed and still connected to the abyss by the leaves that composed it body.
It shone serenely in the pale light and reached out for Tazanna with one hand... And bowed.
She felt obligated to curtsey as she did her long black hair swayed behind her as her blue eyes looked at this male creature in front of her.
"I told you could do it"she said laughing lightly
@faunet: The man chuckled again. He reached out for her gracefully, his fingers long and inviting, some few strands of seaweed hanging loosely out from his body, his shoulders, his hips... Almost like wings or ribbons.
Kaoori stepped lightly across the grass, seeing once again how everything shimmered and glittered in this place. Her ears perked forward, hearing further off the sound of a stream... she headed for the source.
@faunet: The seaweed-man woefully shook his head.
He didn't seem to be able to talk, just like the light...
He only chuckled.
@Kaoori: It only took her a few minutes walking through this strange landscape to reach the source; a small river... mirroring the crying idol river in the forest.
It even had an idol of its own.
A tiny human girl, sitting hunched over on her knees, crying into her hands, the water running through her fingers.
Unlike everything else, she was made completely out of stone...
The sight of a human startled her, but she remembered she was not in her forest anymore. The stranger sight was that it looked like she was made of stone... and this puzzled and concerned Kaoori. Slowly Kaoori approached, sniffing the air, then sniffing slighty near the girl, muzzle extended in her direction.
It was a child, a human fawn, and it was sad about something. Kaoori's motherly instincts started to kick in.
@faunet: The man bowed before her again, gesturing for her to please go on. There was something akin to a smile on his featureless face as he swayed in the gentle current.
He was still reaching out for her...
@Kaoori: The tiny human fawn smelled of stone, water and moss, nothing out of the ordinary. The steady stream running from her hidden eyes made a small, soft sound as it ran down her front and arms, onto the ground and further along the crevice in front of her. Presumably it led out into a pond.
The tiny thing looked like she had been here forever.
She may have been a statue, but the way she was positioned made Kaoori feel as if the stone were alive, and sad. She lay beside it for a while, curling around it and offering it her warmth. She had nowhere else to go anyway.. she had foolishly wandered into the mirror and now she was in a strange place with no idea where to go.
@Kaoori: As she curled around it, the stone almost felt warm... as if it had a tiny flame trapped inside it... But the water that ran through its fingers was cold as ever... The water... It made tiny little sounds as it fell... Tiny little sounds as it ran...
Tiny little sounds... that almost sounded like sobs.
The stone was warm.
The shika flattened her ears, looking at the stone as she curled around it. She pressed her wet, warm nose to the stone child's cheek, listening to the sobs as they poured out, watching the water as it fell and rushed away. What was going on?
(Lol fail late reply, but my replies will probably be slow because I have a friend over XD And she knows of TEF too xP)
Mariposa looked up and smiled at the faceless fawn. The doe lifted her head to the fawn and pressed her forehead against hers. Then she planted a gentle kiss on its cheek. Mariposa looked up the the moon that illuminated the sky, as if in happiness as it smiled down at the two.
@faunet: "Derick" chuckled as she spoke, gracefully offering her a hand as she came back in front of him, giving a small, elegant bow yet again...
waiting...
@Kaoori: As she touched it, it almost felt like it shivered.
The sobs grew louder, more distinct, the stone grew warmer... Until suddenly, it was all cold again.
The stone was just a stone, the water sounded like water...
And there were footsteps behind her.
@Bayleen: (That's okay XD Give 'er my best! : D)
The fawn giggled giddily and pranced shortly on the spot before again going to rub up against her, hiding in her long hair, rubbing its cheeks against her soft fur.
It was acting as if it had never felt the touch of fur before...
((That's great! I'd figure Quad would have a difficult time even realizing he had changed))
He stood, though his paws felt weird. He then saw the strange clothes he was wearing. No, not on four. Stand on two., the strange words entered his mind.
He obeyed, and rising up, he stood upright. He wobbled just a little, having to fall back onto one of the birch trees for support. Am I? Am I...?
He stepped into the light, now able to see his front paws had become fleshy hands, his feet had sandals on them and were shaped oddly. His back legs were turned a different way than he was used to. And his face...where was his snout? What happened to his ears? He felt strangely cold, like his fur had been completely shaved off.
@faunet: The hand felt cool and slippery as the seaweed it was made of, but decidedly more solid. Derik "smiled" again and gently pulled her closer, feeling soft, comforting and safe.
@Kaoori: And as she turned around, she saw who the footsteps belonged to; a small girl, exactly like the one carved out of stone. But this one seemed immaterial, as if she had no solid shape...
She kept shimmering at the edges, like a mirror image in a stream.
She had her back turned.
And she ran.
@Quad: The tiny pup gave an excited bark, turning on its axis, playful and happy as ever. It sniffed at Quad's now-human feet, giving one of his toes a small, tickling lick. It seemed happy about something, though from its frantic movements, it was impossible to determine what.
((Oh, I see XD And here I was being all paranoid you were trying to tell me not to turn him human yet XD;;))
She did indeed feel safe but then again but was she suppose to fear.Derik was cold, yet soft. Not unpleasant she sighed as he pulled her closer, but not too close after all she was not too comfortable being around male entities
@faunet: But Derik seemed to have other plans. Swimming slightly to the side, he soon had her in both his hands, leading her in a slow, gentle, elegant waltz-like dance. He kept his distance from her physically, respecting her borders, never pulling her uncomfortably close.
The man jumped when the cold tongue touched his bare feet. He had never felt anything like this before, since he had never had fleshy toes that could be licked.
He was still wobbly, and took a step backward to regain his balance. All in his head were mental images that kept flashing - clashing swords, falling bodies, burning towns...
History...his history...what was he? He then felt a sword by his left side. He had seen these before, in fact the man in his dream was practicing with one. Slowly he unsheathed it, the blade glistening in the moonlight.
He held it up, and looked at his own reflection.
His eyes were smaller and closer together, though they remained brown in color. He had a distinct brow, he had long dark blue hair that was tied into a ponytail. A small beard on his chin.
@faunet: Derik chuckled in that deep, gravelly voice and ran a finger down her cheek, caressing her.
They were dancing more quickly now, bubbles surrounding them in a flurry.
Faster and faster.
Derik was smiling.
Faster.
He chuckled.
Faster!
He smirked.
And without warning, he let go, sending Tazanna flying back out through the mirror, his chuckle echoing in the forest.
@Quad: The puppy simply sat at his feet, patiently wagging her tail. Having no speech, she could not explain to him his current state of being...
Then suddenly she bolted up, running a few steps before turning to look back at him, ears straight into the air, waiting... Expecting...
Quad straightened up, and began to walk toward the puppy. It must want me to follow..., he thought without speaking. He smiled and took a few more steps, noticing the puppy's tail wag faster the closer he got.
Why do I feel like...this person I am now...has done something terrible with his life?, he began to think during this time.
Kaoori started into a run, immediately trying to keep up with the girl. And forgetting she was going farther and farther away from the entrance to the mirror...
Mariposa smiled sweetly to the fawn before rubbing her cheek against theirs. "Do you have a name?" Mariposa asked as she looked the fawn in the eyes with her forest-green ones.
Quad Wolf actually enjoyed
He wanted to ask another question, but he wasn't sure if the girl even understood him. Instead, he let out a gentle howl.
@faunet: Giggling, the light
The light flickered.
It seemed excited...
And then it flew downwards, towards the bottom...

Quad Wolf was so comfortable, and so tired, that he soon fell asleep. It wasn't intentional, he couldn't help himself for dozing off.
He already began to dream, a black-and-white vision of a strong samurai who was practicing with his katana.
It took a moment before she
