A thought for complaints & there owners update

Hi everyone,

Of late there has been more and more bad busness in the forest and on the forums which is bad in it's self. So Heres a few thoughts: (partly in response to a complaint blogg)

People play TEF to relax enjoy the game and admire the workmanship of the design. The builders of this site have worked their socks off on a very small tight budget so we are very luck to have all these things.

Everyone does HELLO posts alot of people dont have friends or MSN/ chat places. So when they come here the first thing they do is be polite and say hello, testing the waters, then once welcomed they build up from this. It's good maners and a friendly thing to do.

Deer charcters are as indervidual as their owners. (Otherwise we would be drones)

Some deer represent the hidden emotions, wants, and dreams of the player. A neverous person may have a bossy deer, It natural for humans to do this.

Just because a deer is shy does not make them bad. (it could be a new player or someone who does not want to interact with others) Enigima is shy sometimes so what.

Aggression should be a last resort. It's not clever to be bullies (Yer i lernt that one myself and thanks to my cousin lernt it hard way) If angery go beat up a tree like Enigima does (somewhere deep in the forest) dont take it out on other players unless Roleplaying.

There are multible ways for inderviduals to interpritate the moves, some deer see rearing as aggressive some call it a forest hug. Pawing the ground can mean follow me or bring it on.

I am yet to see an EMO deer and i have no idea what one looks like? Is is red and talks about potty training with a big yellow bird as it's friend?

Role play.... Well role play serves several functions, It makes friends, Encroughes people to try writing and using their imaginations. It improves characters. Help expressn emotion, and Is a good sorce of communication. People come on to the site with weak writing skills in a month or two with help from the veiwers become stronger writers and this helps them build confidence in life.

Drawings on the site are Called ART. Art can be anything, but mostly art is an interpritaion of what the indervidual sees. Not everyone can draw deer with human faces (i can't) so they draw people characters instead. I see nothing wrong with that. As for non TEF related most people lable it clearly so everyone knows. No all people have other websites to show work on, and we are no exctly drowning in it.

As for nudity i have yet to see anything major (ar'nt deer nude anyway) And people know where to draw the line/ lilly pad (I loved that idea)

So perhaps we need to fix things. I think we need a list of move interpritations on this site to help newbies and others. This way we should reduce the amount of scuffles in the forest.

I think we also need to respect each other a little more.

New chant for the forest "Dont Flame, just play the game" "Other wise, it an't the same"

Anyeway thats just some thoughts

Feedback is more than welcome.

Take care and happy galloping.

THANK YOU! I never thought

THANK YOU!
I never thought that the issue of art of human deer not being deer enough (it sounds so stupid doesn't it!) would be brought up here because my art has always been very well received. My character Queze is only ever drawn half naked, but I have never gotten a comment about him being scandalous. As a note to other artists, it's all about how something is shown. There is a difference between nudity and a sexually charged piece! I agree it's only fair that sexual pieces go behind links, as I know there are younger people here (and just some older players who prefer not to see that sort of thing).

I think a little bit more respect is never a bad thing, especially here!
It would also help if people perhaps didn't constantly repeat the same ideal, as in, if another three players have already told someone off for something, you don't need to add your voice as well. If everyone chews someone out for something as simple as stating their feelings it becomes a bit of a feeding frenzy!

lol I'm sure at times people

lol I'm sure at times people may say my deer is quite the emo deer. lol.
But really my deer hasn't changed at all, my deer has had the same characteristics
ever since I made him. Only thing that has changed is the will to go up and actually play
with other deer. So to put it planly my deer is a loner, and my other deer I made is quite the same, but a little different. lulz

Respect is something that is good to have in a site like this.
There are alot of people on this site, we don't see them, or we rarely
here about them from others but there are more people on this site. And the more
people, the more respect we should have for there views.

Fair enough, but respect

Fair enough, but respect needs to be applied across the board. Just because a person has an opinion that runs contrary to current popular practice, it doesn't mean that person's opinion is moot or invalid, just unpopular. Many people simply dislike certain kinds of content, but as there is no moderation of this site, it seems anything goes, and this can become troubling. New players to the site see certain activities and assume they are par for the course or are roundly accepted when, in fact, they aren't. This compounds the problem.

I am all about fiction, and roleplay, and music, and especially our talented artists. But I humbly submit that we could keep everything a little more TEF-centric. I realize this site is for social networking, but much of the real world and other media spills over onto this site, and it drives some people crazy. As you say, people come to TEF to immerse themsleves in the fantasy of TEF, not to talk about other games/media/issues.

Also, I find blogs like this to be most encouraging. What this site should really do is foster more discussions like this so we can all help to make this an even more inclusive community. Smiling

Nice blog entry! Not only

Nice blog entry! Not only because I agree for most of it, but also because the tone and approach of discussion points is a lot friendlier. I think there's a lot in the way people put things. If the tone of a blog containing one's opinion is unfriendly or harsh, people will get defensive. I think that approach has a huge influence on people their response and the way a discussion goes.

But furthermore I support discussion and new ideas so I am too happy to see this Smiling
