As role-players, it's important to respect the line between In Character and Out Of Character at all times, this means all involved parties should have some means of communication between what's okay and what isn't.
Depicted in this comic is a situation where one character is IC, but the other is, for whatever reason, unable to return with an IC response. This could be because their player is AFK, or perhaps don't want any drama. Whatever the reason it should be respected. If the antagonist were to then go on and include the encounter in an update, this is making it an OOC issue that disrespects the other player that will inevitably cause discomfort and upset. It's extremely rude.
That being said, the same applies for a character acting indirectly malicious, for example marking/damaging a place of significance to the other player's character without being willing to keep the other player informed, that too is OOCly disrespectful.
Consent should always be given when negative interaction is involved. This can be achieved through messengers, biographies, or even receptive ingame behavior. If consent is given, then go ahead and enjoy yourselves! But if it isn't, then you must respect the player's choice no matter what.
On a related note, it's also important to acknowledge that whether it's denied or not, your characters actions and portrayal are your responsibility as a player. There is absolutely no shame in making compromises, if even on OOC terms, if it means avoiding completely unnecessary drama between players. One can't use "IC" as an excuse to justify hurting someone's feelings if it's completely avoidable.
I hope that, like last time, this comic is taken constructively rather than met with criticism.
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Agreeing with the above
And then you get players paranoid that its aimed at them, like what Qanat stated. (which btw Qanat, yesterdays thing was not aimed at you /pats).
I def think its better to actually taLK to players, rather than just bumping this and hoping the 'attacker' see's it. (which again, not aimed at last nights incident, I know you guys tried to reach out to that player, you did a good ♥).
EDIT: didn't realise I was gonna take the page lmao so 'above comments' meaning the previous page haaa.
@Convel. Usually if people
This is of course speaking from past experiences, because people who usually are playing TEF but are not a part of the community are just playing the game to have fun cB Which is totally all right, it just helps avoid confusion when seeing who has things linked and who doesn't.
"Page not found"s are players
Yeah I kinda agree there, it can be kind of a grey area for that reason; some "page not founds" do respond to your characters emotes etc, and understand what it is you're trying to convey. Though with me personally, I've found that most "page not founds" behave OOCly, or it seems they do, especially if you have a character that's not your typical TEF deer appearance wise it's more apparent, cos they don't "omg wut you're on fire will you burn me" at said character
for example Jehoel, and I can easily set apart the OOC deer from the IC.Don't you also get 'page not
O: I never knew about that,
"Page not found" A lil
A lil pointer that if a character's picto page links to a "Page not found", you should also check the link to the page. Sometimes there are Underscores that need to be removed in order for the page to work, for example (and I hope you don't mind me using one of your accounts here Sushii!)

ANYWAY yeah this Comic was made during a time when it was more needed and I'm entirely happy with the impact it had since. I do hope that anymore bumping in future is made when it's absolutely necessary, I don't really like this - intended for constructive purposes - being used as a means to vent or salt.
Communicating disinterest towards a certain type of ingame RP is really easy and simple: shake head, sit down, and persistently ignore (contact if able to, too). Any further action made by the player to instigate a negative interaction, even after you've made it clear you're not interested, is the fault and responsibility of that player.
IC response counts as Consent, so please be mindful of that.
If your company is responding to that character, then talk to them. These are two outcomes I can think of but there are definitely more: either your friends take that interaction elsewhere in the forest out of respect for your wishes, or they ignore that character/potential troll with you.
Communication is key, guys. Gotta work together. IC interactions and explanations can be discussed, and modified to the agreement of everyone if necessary.
Also I think yesterday's reason for bumping was due to someone who qualifies as a Troll at this point? Guys, don't waste your time on them lol. This comic probably wont change anything to people like that.
^ YEAH I had that issue with
edit: fk i got ninja'd twice cri
