PSA:
This is a reoccurring theme I've seen throughout the years, and although a majority of us have gotten a lot better I still see that from time to time it's still an issue.
The message here is that newbies are OOC and should never be treated as IC. They are new, they are exploring, and they probably haven't joined the community site yet. And even if they have, that alone is no guarantee they are IC, so they should always be treated as OOC until proven otherwise. Always give them the benefit of doubt. And for goodness sake don't expect them to be fluent in TEF language.
Each newbie has the potential to give something to the community. They could be a friend, they could be an artist, they could even be a donator who'd help keep the server running. We should always value our newbies, you never know who they could be to us in the future.
Using roleplay as excuse to mistreat OOC newbies shows extreme inconsideration and a lack of professionalism as a roleplayer.
Either treat them OOCly or ignore them(preferably by idling) if you really don't want to make the effort.
Never expect these newbies to know what your character is like. To them you are only represented by your set and a random picto over your head.
Driving them away is not only selfish to the newbies, but inconsiderate to the growth of the community as a whole. It may also paint a poor impression on M&A themselves.
If you want to play a character who mauls fawns? Make sure it's between consenting players. Peace in TEF is only maintained as long as this is respected.
If you feel like this comic applies to you, I urge you to reconsider your ways instead of act out defensively.
I hope to see less incidents like this in future.
Thank you.

Part 1
Part 2
Roleplaying is a story played
It is not your right to harass whoever just because that is what your character would do.
I've been attacked in game
This is so so so so
Agreed to all this
I see no problem further
I see no problem further emphasizing that, so I did.
This also delves into the topic of players who take no accountability for their characters' actions. "O my character doesn't represent me, so that means I can't control what they do srry not srry not taking any responsibility even if I control the keys."
Wuchu gonna say? - "It's my right to play as I waunt even d'oh it harms others" or "it doesn't hurt me when I punch you so it's okay to keep going"?
Anyone who adheres to such a concept is a prig.
THIS YES. There are ways to
YES.
There are ways to remain 'IC' and still treat the nameless and new players with respect, its not that hard and it can even be fun.
Besides, its really awesome to spend the day with a nameless and have them become a fawn(log in for the first time) right in front of you.
Completely agree. Thanks for
(No subject)
Words cannot describe how
Great way to remind players,
Thank you, thank you, thank
It's just as easy to ignore a character you don't know as it is to harass them. Until you know if they're willing to have their character attacked (because NEWSFLASH: that does take consent) just don't act on it! Easy peasy.
For the most part the forest and the community are a lovely place, but we have to be considerate and keep it that way. Everyone should feel welcome, whether it's their first time logging in or their hundredth.
All of this yes. Others
Others have said what I've wanted to but, just all of this.
Very much agreed.
♥
I like this. I don't go into
The issue has always bugged
I just joined TEF yesterday!
Sorry for being THAT fawn, but I really really like running and jumping around other cool looking deer!
Hey Risbold, Welcome to
You're not being any sort of bad by trying to play and interact with others. <3 That's fine.
And Vee,
U. R. Awesome.
Just so you know.

Kind of sad that we have to
