5 OCT - Feeling better, and back to business! :3 Also realizing that I really need a better way to organize this! My goodness, this blog is getting huge.
It's quite a mess to sort through right now. Any and all help is always appreciated, but I will certainly try to figure something out to make it a bit more readable and eye-friendly.

So Nopje finally kicked my butt into gear, and here I am. :3
I have been wanting to start up a very big project here in the TEF community, but I'm not sure how many people would be interested, or how exactly it should be set up.
Basically, I'd like to set up a kind of art class just for TEF!
We have so many awesome artists here, but I've noticed so many other aspiring artists who are eager to learn! I think this might be an excellent way to pull the community together and have some fun.
I'm hoping that we can run the classes every week. Each week, a different 'mentor' will lead the class. Each mentor is completely in charge of creating their own lesson plan, assignments, etc. It can be as detailed, or as vague as you'd like, it's all up to you -- just make sure it only takes one week, after that it's the next mentor's turn!
If you'd like to be a mentor, just let me know, and we'll compile a big list of volunteers. (:
Everyone in the community is free to give advice at any time in the class. Basically, the mentor simply comes up with the lesson plan, but
everyone can take part sharing advice, tips, critique, etc. on the topic at hand. That way anyone is free to share their knowledge and help teach the class, even if they don't want the responsibility of being a mentor.
There will be NO members list (aside from the mentors list, of course). You can join every single week, or just every once in a while -- or even not at all, popping in to give tips and advice but not completing any assignments. It should be very open and easy for everyone. Just come to 'class' when you feel interested, whether to teach or to learn.
Additional Ideas...
♦ We can have people volunteer their deer to be drawn by the class -- that way, the class has something TEF-related to practice with, and there's a great opportunity for free fanart! Volunteered deer will go into a pool and be pulled out and random when needed.
♦ Maybe there could be times when the class joins up on iscribble? (shamiya)
♦ A resources blog with links to tutorials and anatomy help. (shamiya)

What we need...

♦ Ideas for topics! What do you want to learn about? I think it would be great to compile a list to give our mentors some nice ideas for class topics.
♦ Ideas, suggestions, comments, questions, concerns, and feedback on the class in general! c:

I would love to learn about colouring and anatomy...
Myself I could help with
At least I'm thinking about making a fur tutorial.
This is a great idea! I
I would be happy with a whole class just about deer hoofs, that's my personal demon, but general anatomy, fur, digital tips... all of this sounds amazing.
Awesome! I'd love too see a
And tips on digital painting is always appreciated.
But especially I'd love some kind of anatomy guide.
I don't think I'd make a good mentor, but I'll gladly offer advice, especially about different photoshop functions.
I'd be happy to mentor, not
I would also be interested in having someone give tips on adding emotion to deer faces, as that's something I really have trouble with.
eeeee /hugglez eyestrain n_n
D: Feel better soon Lemon!
Coloring/painting for me. My
I'm always willing to
I know basic anatomy structure of deer (nowhere near perfect haha) but I could try to utilize some of that. I also work with pens.
For those who do not have tablets or do not know their tablets very well, I could try instructing by means of scanning my work in steps, showing how to use gelpens, ballpoints, mechanical and sketch pencils, et cetera.
I could also try to mentor my simple black line technique on the tablet, which you can see in my blog called Guess That Character!, if it is wanted.
Get well soon, though, Lemon. And no rush~
(Also, as with many others, I do have school, but I will try my best to participate. I'll give warnings if school gets in the way.)
OH YEAH, I forgot the thing I
I'd love to learn something
I also second the notion on deer hooves and legs. I just don't seem to get them.
I would enjoy being a Mentor.
hummm what I need help on... Water, expressions, happy art(Lighting), clean art(lineart and cell shading)...and some other thing that I cant put my finger on. They might come to me later
I'd love to take part in
Most definitely tracking. If
If this is still around during winter break, I'll gladly volunteer then to be a mentor X3
Wow, I'm so happy to see so
Anyway, I'm thinking through exactly how I'm going to set everything up -- it's more difficult than I'd anticipated!
I'm thinking about creating a new account for the art class which can be shared with everyone -- so mentors can just log in to post blogs under one name? That would also be helpful to keep everything updated, as everyone would be able to access the archive blogs and such. I don't think anyone around here would abuse that... and we can keep the data backed up, anyway, just in case. Good idea? Or no?
Anyway, keep up the great feedback! C: I'm really very happy with the responses so far. <3
I'm willing to mentor! :)
I can mentor in lineart and
*tracks* Because this is a
Because this is a great idea especially for artists who want to get better.
