I've always liked crafting, and I'm 1/8 Ojibwe, and I learned from friends and elders about a variety of traditional crafts and making them. I'm only good at a handful, hehe, but nonetheless! I planned on starting a store on Etsy earlier this year and made a bunch of stuff in preparation, but that never happened and probably never will xD I'd still like to see this stuff go off to people that like these kinds of things... and I figured maybe some of them were here!
I make: Dreamcatchers(Ojibwe were the original creators), beaded bracelets, earrings, leather pouches(beaded and non), necklaces, etc. A few of the dreamcatchers/pouches/necklaces have antler tips on them, for those who are especially fond of deer or work with deer as a totem in any practice. Its a nice personal connection
Pictures are below.
Details/humane statement: Most of the dreamcatchers have parrot or crow feathers. A friend of mine owns an exotic bird store and collects shed feathers for me, and I get the crow feathers myself in the woods. Some also have "eagle" feathers- they're duck feathers from another friend with pet ducks. All of them are sanitized. Some pouches or dreamcatchers have buffalo teeth or antlers on them- I collect shed antlers and take the tips off myself, and the teeth come from a humane source. The chokers are natural bone/horn- no plastic!
I tried to be fair with pricing... I hate bringing money into any equation, but poor college kid here
If you like something but the price is off, I'll work with you, and I'll gladly trade
Dreamcatchers: Small catcher(pictured)- $10. Big catcher(twice the size)- $16
Pouches: antler/tooth pouch- $8; cross pouch- $6; Beaded bag- $20. There are also plain ones.
