I remembered how I did this before.

Nope, there is no pinecone there.
Go into the pond, click the "drink" action, and then immediately walk away. When you stop, your deer will continue the "drink" action. And it looks like your deer is "drinking" from the ground. Or grazing. It does look a lot like eating a pinecone, though.

Mel's "fawn set"

I loaded Melinoe's set before logging in. But since Mel is still a fawn, she came out looking like this.
It seems the beluga pelt becomes the blue striped pelt on a fawn.

Deer-dump/Insomatica's POV.

Doe with green eyes; Insomatica. This is sort of a POV of her life apart from that one picture of her. The fawn up in the left hand corner is a plagued soul whom she killed, The fawn follows her trail of thoughts, catching up to her when she sleeps - Hence why she doesnt ever sleep without waking up and bolting out into the forests - and eventually this will kill her. Unless something else does before hand. The fawn crys blood non-stop, as it runs a trail of blood will be left behind, if any blood is caught on its jet-black pelt then it will be instantly sucked up back into the fawns system ready to be released in another wave of 'tears'.

The stag be her brother, whom she had to leave after he took a bullet to the head for her. She feels that it was her fault that her petite herd was slaughtered, her fault that her family died. If she hadnt of run into the meadows in plain sight, Her mother wouldnt have come running, screaming. The herd wouldnt have followed in a dangerous stampeed of panic and her poor big brother wouldnt have stood over her, despite their mothers distrust in her own son. Insomatica still sees her brothers spirit wondering around aimlessly, following her. If you ever see her ingame and she just stops to look behind herself then uses the 'fear' emotion. She had seen her brother.

He never had good relationship with females : some of them were afraid of his blue & yellow pelt, and ran away. Some thought he was too creepy and strange to be a good father. Some other never really kept him in memory, so he never learned how does it feel, to be loved. He sometimes gets really melancholic and recluse. Sleeping by the pond or talking alone, exploring the playground when the rain is falling...
