Impact met this stag in the forest today o__o There wasn't many online so he couldn't find any fawns to play with.
He seemed a little socially awkward. Didn't interact much. Wouldn't dance with Impact (though he did nod whenever Impact started to dance which confused us even more.) tilted his head a few times, nodded a bit more and sat down xD Impa wonders why the stag seemed so down. So do I actually.
Anyway, Impa gave up on trying to get him to play and just ended up having a staring competition. I'm still not sure who won, Impa kind of cheated since technically he has no eyelids. But then again, the other deer had a skull for a face.
The stranger is the brown one with the skull mask, Impa is the nekked one.
Oh, that picto's been stuck

That lovely fellow would
"Your efforts are insignificant! I carry you to your deaths!"
Oh god, I seriously have to
Nechtan loves everyone, and loves meeting new faces, but he's not a deer that dances and jumps and runs. He's more of a peaceful observer, who likes to watch others play and dance.
On top of that, he is a plant/tree spirit. He's more sluggish in the Fall, and is more inclined to simply sit around. He'll walk here and there, but he won't walk too far without stopping to sit for a while.
His nodding was his way of showing that he liked watching Impa dance. He was afraid to sit down though, in the event that he might upset you/Impa. I suppose Nechtan as a whole is hard to fully interact with, seeing as how he's not a young whippersnapper, but I hope I've cleared up his behaviour for you.
I was actually quite curious as to who you were as well. Nechtan really did enjoy spending time with you, even if he didn't seem like he did. And I apologize if he bored your or Impa. Again, I know he can be a challenge to fully interact with, due to what he is, and his personality. Maybe someday, you can catch me playing one of my more playful deer (:
Wow that's a very interesting
