With all honesty, I say go for it. He closed the forums down once and he won't hesitate to do the same with the community site. We all need a lesson taught, apparently. I'm all for it. -waves a flag- :<

Surely you don't think I said that just because of the recent spamming? There's so much more going on. Anyway, you lot do what you want with this site. If it gets closed down, you only have yourselves to blame.

If you had been here as long as some of us, you'd notice how much this place has changed.

This used to be a place for diaries and art, but these days, it's more dragon eggs, music, and pointless posts, and half of those have nothing to do with TEF.

I'm not going to get into an argument about it, (I'm past things like that), I just miss the way this site once was.

I'm also really surprised at Blackfeathr. That sort of behavior is immature, and I have no idea why she's doing it.

My sentence structure is horrid. I meant to say: it would help if people would stop bumping deer updates with reactions to this. It's simply perpetuating the situation.

I'll add that I agree with Io Rez. I don't think it's necessary to delete the forums, but something needs to happen to stop unrelated spam posts. I'd like to think open discouragement by the community is a possible solution. Moderators might be a solution too. Pictures can be placed in correct categories and spam posts can simply be deleted.

It makes me wince to see so many people against the community site now. I can’t say I don’t understand why some of the older players feel this way. I can’t begin to know what the community site was like before the bios and updates because that’s what I first happened upon, but I’m sure it was a lot more peaceful. However, I don’t think everyone should be blamed. I wish people would enjoy their deer more in forest then they seem to enjoy them out of it. I for one don’t plot elaborately off site and most of what I come up with is based on interactions in the forest. Mostly XD

But you know I see the statement all the time that there wouldn’t be so much drama and violence and deetr characters if there wasn’t a community site…and I just don’t think it’s true. Whether I had this site or not, my deer would still be ;characters’, simply because I’m an Rper and that’s what I do. I don’t want to be my horrid nasty self on the internet, and I know several others who feel the same way. Saying that, there will be deer with ornery personalities, deer who start fights just to start fights. There will be deer who are lovers and flirt with everyone and have deer they hang around with more than others.

Maaaaybe in the past all the deer in the game were all loveable peaceful friendly deer who hung out with everyone. Seems a bit strange to me but back then the community was small and I can see it being possible. But now? There’s so many people here! Change is gonna happen…and no I don’t think the solution is closing down the site. Moderators? Always a great idea with this many people in a room XD BUT, what will they be moderating? Behavior, or actual content? Because I think if you start cutting back on content there really isn’t going to be much left of this site anyways >< I see deer bios AS diaries, and even deer updates when done tastefully. When kept actually updated consistently (and not just bumped every time a new deer enters the forest), they are creative writings, whether some people see them as annoying or not.

That leads me to my last question guys…what sort of diaries are you guys wanting to see? Just stories based on deer? Poetry based on deer? What about role play? What about stories that create as much drama as anything else? I for one would love to write more stories, but like I said Im more of an RPer than a story teller, and would feel quite left out of the community if I were judged upon that.But writing any story is hard to do when you know nothing about the other deer you’re writing about other than what they portray themselves in the forest. isn’t that whether bios and updates come in handy?

If moderators are deemed necessary, there would definitely have to be player-moderator feedback. I honestly think most of the content that needs monitoring is in the Pictures. Things are put into wrong categories. Art and even photos that don't belong to the player are posted. Non-TEF art is posted. I have nothing against posting a diary entry for that (Ghost's art blog is an example of how that could work).

But diaries - I'm thinking of the ones that were posted a couple of days ago, when two or three of those... flash music things were playing over each other. That just isn't necessary. They stop the players on YouTube and lastfm from loading; not to mention they disrupt any music already playing on the computer.

I agree with Io Rez about the updates. And I agree with you. They can be artistic. But I think everyone, at least at some point or another, agrees they are bumped too much. I guess I can't relate to this desire of knowing who's character's on and how they are feeling and where they are. I want to find that out for myself. Everything can be interpreted - even if someone's having computer problems. I definitely think there's this tendency to rely too much on text and less on the non-verbal language of the Forest. But as this relates to moderation, I don't see these as being deleted. The community has to decide what's tolerable. And in the end, it really wouldn't be about what's allowed and what's not. The community has already decided that, for better or worse.

what are we doing...we are getting really p**sed off about a site...you shouldn't take that personally..i know that people do drama for a living myself included and we probably shouldn't but there is them out there and people need to understand that they are going to be there...i can see points here i mean the massive updates in like the deer updates i mean come on...if someone likes to post that then you shouldn't get mad at them on the other hand i can see that over the time that i've been here, people on the site are changing and leaning away from the game i know that i sound like a hypocrite because i rarely go in forest mainly cuz my computer dies but i mean...we all have intelligence and i think that because of the fact that i think people came here for a rest and then ended up fighting all the time, its saddening but i think that you can take the high road and post things to make this place better and maybe over time others will also bring it up to a higher standard but a thing like this is pointless because all your doing is giving yourself reason to leave a place that some people want to wreck and if all the good people go then they've won
