I made a photo/art blog-thing earlier today, in hopes it would help me improve my skills and get me back into hobbies I used to enjoy. I put up a picture I drew... and then deleted the post less than 20 minutes later. I really don't know why. But, that was a coward move, so screw that- its back! xD just as a photo log now. I'm gonna put something in this damn thing every day, no matter how its recieved or how good/bad the content is. WOOHOO BLAZING SELF-CONFIDENCE! xD I'll post at least one new picture in the comments every day, and probably change the post-title to match it, because I'm insane.
Today: Driving around, I saw a cemetary I'd never seen before... it was a cemetary for an old Russian Orthodox church that changed location a long time ago. Some of the stones weren't even readable they were so old... many were dated in the 18-19th century. It was oddly calming walking around there, and I actually had my camera with me, so I decided to take a few pictures as I walked around, the song posted below looping in my head... very fitting x) Photos under cut:
Pittsburgh is an amazing city for its architecture. I was walking around an area downtown where there are tons of old Victorian houses, all in fantastic condition, some with little gargoyles sitting on the edges of the roof, some with friezes over the doors and ornate stonework... Unfortunately it was hard to get pictures of the houses- narrow sidewalks next to city streets, meh- but I did get a few cool photos of the hospital, which is unusually beautiful. I'll save the others for days I'm too lazy to take a new picture, so there's still something to show xD For now, a photo of the dome outside the entrance...
Its raining like nobody's business and I can't take great pictures in the house, especially this dark... I'm also too lazy to do so today. xD So here's an old picture from last year, from the aviary. A golden eagle was right up near the glass of its enclosure... I was less than a foot away from him, and he seemed to enjoy figuring me out as much as I did him. I managed to get a few good photos, among them, this:
Unedited, so its not a colorful and clear as the others, but its still nice, in my opinion.
Its still raining and I'm not motivated to do anything more artistic than this, so here you go xD
Eleven rides a pony.
A talented friend of mine made the Doctor for me a few days ago on a whim, and I frickin' love him. xD And the image in my head of a fezzed Eleven riding a rainbow pony was too funny not to share. And yes, I have a my little pony. >.> I am that amazing.
<.<
OMG! *squees, grabs the little Doctor, and runs like mad*
That is probably the cutest thing I've ever seen. Even his fez is adorable! (Although I inwardly cheered when Amy and River shot it to pieces in the show.) Is the pony named Arthur? (-;
Anjali- BAHAHAHA. I forgot about that! The pony's name is officially Arthur now. xD
I keep telling her she should open a store on Etsy or something, but she's afraid of all the rabid Who fans that would swarm it and take all her free time with them xD Maybe someday though.
Terabetha- Yay! I love Tom Waits, and everyone else I know either doesn't like him, or doesn't know who he is xD And thank you ^_______^
Eyestrain- Thanks! I'm glad people are liking these and I'm not just spamming the forum, lol!
I went to a church earlier this morning to take pictures, because the sun is finally out xD The church is open every day, and I'm friends with the maintenance guy, so it was nice seeing him and wandering around the place. I'm not Christian really, but I love churches for all the gorgeous art inside them and the architecture... they're often massive works of art. I got a few great pictures because the light was streaming through the stained-glass windows and reflecting onto the pillars, and the natural light coming in made for wonderfully lit photos without even trying!
This is an old one from the same place sometime last winter... I still really like how it came out, so its goin' here too
Another architecture photo- the dome outside the old Penn Station downtown. I was laying flat on my back in the middle of the circle taking this, and guards and random people were giving me weird looks xD Twas worth it!
* just placing a track here,
ouhm... well okay just one random thing to add:
I love cemetries.
*bumpbump*
What an interesting old

*breaks out the champagne*
Ooh, the pictures and the song are giving me the good kind of chills! What a worn down old cemetary! That's pretty unique.
That weird cross thing with the extra bars, does anyone know what it symbolises? I know I have seen it before somewhere...
Don't be shy to put up your art... I'd love to see it! :3
Thanks gurgelin- that's a
gurgelin- that's a Russian Orthodox cross. Someone told me once what the other bars meant... I just can't remember xD

Those photos of the cemetery are beautiful and haunting, especially in black-and-white.

These pictures are awesome, I'm so fond of grey-scale cemetery scenes.

Oh! These are all beautiful~
It's certainly worth the occasional odd look or two to get a that perfect shot.
