There were a lot in the parks today.

Just Italian bread. My friend had a lot from her family getting Italian the other day and they weren't going to eat it all, so it was better than them throwing it out. ='D Plus it meant good photo/video opportunities.

We were in my friend's car. ='D And I kind of failed tossing the bread far enough to the deer, but apparently that one was feeling pretty bold.

I don't normally post about my personal life on here. Hell, I hardly post anything these days (hi guys who might still read this, I still live? 8D). But I need to vent this somewhere.

Life is going...well, to shit right now. Ever since my father retired just over a year ago, things have been shaky money-wise. But we held together enough. Then my job at the frozen yogurt shop I was working at ended. I knew it was coming; there was a 5-year lease and my boss couldn't afford to renew it. He'd lost too much money to that place already.

So I was unemployed as of August. I got unemployment payments, sure, but those barely helped me pay off my student loan bills. I was still slowly losing money out of my savings. By the time my unemployment ran out, I was lucky to get a job at Michaels, one of the arts and crafts stores in the area. Things looked ok, if not great, again.

Except now, ever since the store manager got replaced with a different one, all the part time workers' hours are getting shuffled around funny, or cut. Like mine.

My hours are shit.

I plan to talk to the store manager today to see what's going on, because I can't keep up payments at this rate. I may even need to finally see if I can talk to someone at the student loan agency to see about lowering my payments or stopping them for awhile (my loan has a few terms attached that make doing that a little tricky; I won't go into the why of it, but I would've reduced it sooner if not for that)

My dad's been getting social security payments since he retired, but that money doesn't cover everything, so he started driving with Uber last year. It was never much, but it helped keep us afloat enough.

Except someone rear ended his car yesterday. It's not the first damage his car has taken this year either. There's some kind of bad luck going on there...

The car drives fine, all the lights work. But it looks. Bad. Can't drive with Uber with that. The other person who hit him is responsible, so their insurance should pay for it. But there's the matter of needing to get an estimate, which does cost.

And now I find out the cable bill hasn't been paid yet. That's the house phone, tv, and the internet. It's about $190 a month.

My father can't pay it. I can't pay it. We're not sure how it's going to get paid.

I posted about [url=http://www.endlessforest.org/community/commissions-2]commissions[/u], which I'm hoping will get a few bites of interest. But looks like that might go the way it did last time I tried. So I'm scrambling to try to figure out somewhere else I could apply to work and hope I get called back. I was lucky Michaels did. No other place did. No one was really hiring at the time.

So many people around here are falling into problems, I don't expect to get any help. I just needed to get that out of my system and update anyone who's curious what's up with me about what's been gong on lately.

Ahh, fair enough! I don't know the ins and outs of each company, just recently listened to podcast about Uber's origins and recent controversies and whatnot.

The only reason I'm able to use this particular temp agency despite not having a car is because I live relatively close to Seattle where all of the jobs they find for me are located and my transit options are pretty nice UNLESS THEY MAKE ME GO SOMEWHERE WEIRD IN SEATTLE UGH. There's another agency I signed up with on accident but they find jobs more south of Seattle and more to the East which I can travel to, but I'm not willing to spend 4+ hours commuting every day 8') Everybody's situation and areas are different. Sorry if I seemed like I assumed you had access to the same things as me!

I guess I should give an update related to the vent I did last month? ='D
Dad's car is only NOW finally getting fixed. That crap dragged out so much. Insurance companies suck. 8| But on the bright side, the adjuster for the other guy's insurance decided on an amount that was less than the value of the car, so my dad did get a check from the company to get the car fixed. And a friend of his knows a guy who can fix it for a lower amount. It just might take awhile, but it's better than not being able to afford it.

In other news, I talked to my student loan "handler" (whatever you call the company you pay off student loans through), and they gave me a form I could use to apply for a temporary lowered repayment plan. Not ideal, but after debating for awhile, I filled it out, faxed it to them, and got a response a few weeks later. My payments are reduced for two years, and then they'll go up a bit compared to what I was paying. Expected since it was explained on the form, but not as bad as I thought it might be.

So, basically, you could say we're doing ok. Not perfect, still could be better here, but ok.

Also I just made the cutoff date for the yearly review at my job, and it was only good things. ='D That makes me happy. Got a small raise too.

And while I'm here, I might as well share this.

Some friends and I are doing the Dungeons and Dragons thing. \o/
Or will soon. When I finish fleshing things out. Because I volunteered to Dungeon Master. Even though I want to play too, and that up there is my member of the odd party we'll have. (A Tiefling bard, a half-elf rogue, another Tiefling but sorcerer, and my human ranger.)
THIS WILL EITHER GO FANTASTICALLY, OR GO DOWN IN FLAMES. EITHER WAY, IT SHOULD (hopefully) BE EPIC. 8D

It's nice having some savings; gotta say. They gave me a one month forbearance too, which I found out when I went to make a payment just last week and saw "$0" as the amount due. Got a few emails the next day outlining everything. \o/ But that was a bit jarring, seeing that. Especially since I was already almost a week late waiting for my next paycheck so I could afford the payment. Then I see I don't need to make it. 8|

If Critical Role has taught people anything, it's don't underestimate the bard. USE THEM CHARISMA SKILLS cuz my guy has none 8D (-1 modifier on purpose for the winfail)
And funny you should say across the country. The friends in questions are all ones I know online so we're gonna be attempting Roll20 or a mix of that and Discord. 8D Even have a dice-rolling bot in our group channel.

It's the only one I DO watch. ='D And it's all because I play Fallout 4, and found out the voice actor of one of my favorite characters in that game is the DM for Critical Role. I may be a little obsessed/over invested in that show. >>;
I'm both terrified and excited as hell for when I finally start DMing my own game. Gonna be so much talking to myself though. 8'D Even without me playing a party member too. I'll just have to think of it as verbal story-writing.
My friends are all those I made through TEF (though they no longer or very rarely play now), but I'm not sure you actually know them. ='D

Ahh, yea, I get ya. I'm kind of the same way. \o/ Gotta be my own idea if I'm gonna do something (but not when it comes to work of course). It's tempting to gush about CR anyway because...yea. But I'll hold off. >>
