Odd Questions About The BZD

Anjali's picture
I was just writing something that suddenly made me curious enough to ask this question (and as the Halloween season is coming soon, it seems relevant): do any of your characters have an IC response to the Big Zombie Deer? Does his (or her?) presence in the Forest mean anything to them? How do they view the BZD?

Just blatantly curious. Sticking out tongue I would love to hear your responses (and if this will be your first Halloween in the Forest, feel free to say how your characters might react to the BZD when they see him).

Kaoori hates fog, but she loves Velocity (the BZD) so she always braves it to see him this time of year. She was born this month so she associates him with that and good things. Laughing out loud

Kaoori: My Anjali is an October fawn too~ So the BZD is part of his childhood (which sounds oddly morbid xD)...and he will always be curious about the BZD, albeit a bit wary. He views the giant zombie as a manifestation of the Gods, representing their power to take life as well as give it.

My character, Tenroe, was

My character, Tenroe, was "accidentally" made into a zombie when he cast a spell at the BZD (the spell back firing, and actually turning him into one so that he can't keep any other spells). He basically has this love-hate outlook on him; he hates the BZD for turning him into what he is now, but also sees him as a fatherly figure since he's also a zombie, and basically created him. It's..a bit of a complex story, to be honest xD; But that's the gist of it C:

Violet, Azura and White Dove

Violet, Azura and White Dove would be completely amazed, over and over to see BZD. But apparently, Eoron doesn't like 'undivine' things and would keep away. But I'm going to get him the zombie antlers and skull mask anyway. >:C

Violet would show out a little fear and respect. All bigger, great stags are a father-figure to her, like the BZD, so that's why she may become very shy.
Azura would be amazed and try to interact with him and get to know him, but that's just her curiosity. She would also, for fun, wear the zombie set. White Dove's a bird, so that's much not special, but he would investigate how BZD would react if she would sit on his antlers. xD

Mr.Sanguine has a sort of respect for velocity.
Heika thinks he's a curious thing, but not something he needs or wants to be involved with.
Cain sees him as a god. Seeing as Cain is also polytheistic, the BZD is just one of many gods.

Shika would probably love to play and dance with him XD
Homunculus and Toxic.. wouldn't like him as much..
Blackbird would fly away..
The rest of my characters would probably just be curious xD

Iphea would be curious. He would be wary until he sniffed him though. I believe the BZD has "Good Forest Magic" and only has ill intentions because of his imprisonment until just around halloween.

Cause of how little Unduetu is, she would prolly be scared to death of the BZD.

Illrose was fangirl-ing all

Illrose was fangirl-ing all over him last year, because he was much more impressive and powerful than any other deer she had seen, lol. This year she will be much calmer.
She do have deep respect for him though, and might spend some quiet time by his sleeping body if he should happen to be alone or with only a few around. :')

Fawn on the other hand, fearful as she is, will most likely keep her distance while 'Demon Fawn' probably would be very interested in his soul - it must be a powerful one, if he has one at all. xD

Thanks for the great

Thanks for the great responses, everybody ~ this is very interesting.

Kaoori: Oh, thank you. ^///^

Honeyfur: Aw, poor Tenroe. It must be awful to be zombie-fied against your will! ono

Deerth: The BZD would look much less scary with a little white dove perched on his antlers, I think. ♥

Mr. Sanguine: It's quite interesting to see how characters have such differing opinions of Velocity.

ShikaTale: Hmm...I've never seen the BZD play, or even dance for that matter. Actually, I've only seen him awake once, and even then he was only up and about for a short time. I think he's narcoleptic. Or really lazy? xD He does gallop, though, and it's quite terrifying!

Ms. Butterfly: Intriguing theory...and I can only imagine Velocity must look like an absolute mountain to mini-sized deer!

SnowSauria: Hahah, it definitely makes sense that the BZD would command a lot of respect/fangirl-love. I wonder if he enjoys having fangirls? xD
Anjali will at least come to pay respect to Velocity, too.
Kasmir's picture

Kasmir would Jump around it

Kasmir would Jump around it in excited circles hollaring and singing and when it didn't play with her, she would go sulk in the corner.
Lykai would stay awaaaayy from that thing. Like. So far away...
Anjali's picture

Kasmir: lol, poor Kasmir.

Kasmir: lol, poor Kasmir. Hahah, I think Lykai would probably have the most normal and sanest response to the BZD. It's likely good sense to stay the heck away from a huge, rotting, ambulatory piece of flesh! Perfectly understandable.

Zyzzy hasn't met him yet, but

Zyzzy hasn't met him yet, but would be very curious, of course! xD Meeting the creator of the zombie deer in the forest would be very interesting to him... the BZD would be very intimidating, but seems more or less harmless and he would probably be able to sense that lack of ill-will... and promptly start following him around, bugging the heck out of the poor thing xD If you can really call a gigantic, ambiguously evil zombie deer "poor thing" LOL!

My deer (and I) like Velocity

My deer (and I) like Velocity a lot. I think s/he admires their ability change things (the weather, costumes, etc) while I admire the creators' participation in the game. When Velocity is around, my deer likes to sneak in a nuzzle, acquire a different Halloween costume each year, and due to some events in a past Halloween, s/he still has a desire to dance nearby in a attempt to wake them up. Laughing out loud

My Zacharias..well, his

My Zacharias..well, his history with Zombie deer is rather brutal and dark (readable in one of my blog posts in case you're interested), so he will stay far away from Velocity. The only way he'll go near is if his friends are close, and even that is just to make sure that they'll be alright. He's terrified of Velocity. (last year I had him near Velocity and OOC because it was my first halloween in TEF and I was so very curious of BZD.) This year he'll be in character.

Juliet..well, I don't know yet. She'll probably be scared and fascinated at the same time. That's her basic reaction to pretty much everything. I think she'll keep her distance and observe from afar, if she even gets that close. She hates fog and not being able to see well, so it's unlikely she'll go too close if she's alone.

Urho sees Velocity as any

Urho sees Velocity as any other deer, there are so many different colorful characters in the forest. Although he has a greater respect for Velocity, indeed he is the king of the undead, and his aura stretches far across the woods, of course Urho's heart beats a little faster in Velocity's company. Urho hopes he could befriend him one day. (:

Grey hasn't even met Velocity, and sees him as just a myth around Halloween.

Laruna: I like how the creators participate in the game through Velocity, too. And I remember the zombie dances from last year...Anjali was just a little fawn, but he joined in the dancing, and it seemed to work...for that's when the BZD awoke!

Silverpaw15: Interesting...I might have to check out Zacharias' story.

Skatmat: Intriguing; thank you for answering. C:

Verdalas: But the BZD is bigger than Walter, I'm sure. x3

Quad: Zombie-farts, oh man....we'll have to keep the BZD away from the bean soup too, huh?
Lol, not the cat! o:

^ I guess that's true. And

^ I guess that's true. And what kind of things? o___o (Maybe I don't want to know...?)

I know this is kind of old,

I know this is kind of old, but I haven't been checking blogs in a while.

Anyway, only three of my deer have met the BZD.

Amary treats every deer the same, regardless of who/what they are, size, appearance, etc. But I think she knows the BZD is somehow "special" and that he has some kind of connection with the gods. She's curious about him, and respects him, but he's always sleeping. She's only seen him awake once (the only time I've seen him awake so far), but she had fun that time, so she likes him.

Oisín is afraid of him, or at least wary. He used to be afraid of the skull mask when he was a fawn, but even though he's gotten over that, it doesn't exactly help in his nervousness around the BZD. The skull isn't what makes him nervous, though. Part of it is the BZD's size, but mostly it's because Oisín tends to fear things that remind him of death, and the BZD's size and presence makes him intimidating and hard to ignore. He's never even seen the BZD awake, but I'm sure he wouldn't go near him when he's awake.

Melinoe loves everything to do with death, and respects the BZD above most others. She likes to sit near him, but she doesn't like when a lot of deer crowd around him. If there are too many deer, she will try to get as close as she can without being among the crowd. She gets a bit frustrated by the fact that the BZD is always asleep when she sees him, but she doesn't let it bother her too much since she considers it lucky to actually be in his presence at all. If he were awake, she'd most likely follow him everywhere.

nuevapaz: Don't worry about

nuevapaz: Don't worry about it being old, I love more answers. I've only seen him awake once, too, but I hope to see it again. My deer would likely follow him around as well, out of curiosity, but definitely not sit too close. c:

I'm pretty new to this game,

I'm pretty new to this game, so my deer (I can't decide on a final name for him yet, so for now I'm just calling him by my name, Adrien) has never met Velocity. If he does meet him (and I really hope that I will get the chance; I've been looking for him constantly xP) his reaction will be one of awe and respect.

As for myself, I'm sort of conflicted on what to do. I really like the zombie mask, but I don't think it fits Adrien's character, really. I like his face without a mask. I can't decide whether I should get one from Velocity or not. :/

Kennis has great respect for

Kennis has great respect for the BZD, due mainly to his link to the life and death cycle of the forest. Unfortunately, she also feels he's linked to her life and death cycle, so his arrival is always bittersweet.
