The Chapel Garden
This field of poppies, sprouting up before the alter at the ruined chapel has a strong connection to Hook’s mother, Line. He associates the red blooms with her and is comforted by napping among them.
The Ruined Pit
Leading down into the basement of the Ename, this cavernous opening has long been closed up. Hook feels this place is important but can’t quite remember why.
The Old Oak
Rarely visited, Hook only enjoys this place when sheltering from the snow among other deer. At other times, especially when alone, he finds the droning song unnerving.

I remember that story.
I would love to hear your
The general idea was that it would contain artifacts from human times (such as Christian illuminations from the monks and paper, pagan stone carvings similar in style to the idols), a variety of "holiday only" forest things (I was thinking perhaps of a dark room with baby red mushrooms like the ones that come out sometimes, or an enormous dandelion puff with seeds ready to grow, and boxes and boxes of candles), and possibly ghosts of the human souls that were or were not converted when the game was on display in the museum and players could convert souls. I also imagine that a large and bizarre entity sleeps under there, representing The Server. When it has bad dreams, deer experience glitches or have bad dreams of their own (and can't connect to the game).
I totally understand if this conflicts with Hook's story but I saw on the page that he had ties to the ruins and you'd expressed interest before so I thought I should at least offer.
Yoooo this sounds
My head canon for the ruins is that it is the cellar under the Ename and consists of a (far smaller) network of rooms including a food cellar (big, now rotten casks, glass preserve jars, ect). Without giving too much away there is a skeleton of a girl and some books down in the basement (relatively close to the entrance) that has importance to how Hook came to get into The Forest.
The spirit I mentioned is named Sinker and also has a huge importance to how Hook came about, and has a connection to his 'helm'. I currently have Sinker as being in a very heavy slumber but I'd think that Hook being nearby OR anyone attempting to touch the bones/books would rouse him. We could either leave him sleeping or I could RP him at some point. He's a meanie but can't interfere with the living physically (at best he might be able to toss a jar at someone ). I could see Sinker being a very snarky/sassy immaterial companion for them as they check out the larger network of tunnels.
I see your idea for a larger network working fine, as long as the bones, books, and central basement stick around roughly as I described. I can always go into more detail for the DM (or whoever is gonna control setting and NPC things) so they can draw from or work around my content as desired.
I think it would be possible
You could do most setting description for your areas to make sure that you can get the details right, with other people supplying more minor details, and then I can take over setting as we go deeper.
That would work perfectly!
There WAS a character named Line but she isn't the skeleton! I'm sure some of the characters could get Sinker to elaborate about them if players are interested.
I like La already, is she going to have a fancy adventuring hat? hehe
La would look good in a hat
Tragic. Everyone needs that
You're free to contact me here on Hook's bio when you're interested in discussing/planning the dungeon crawl in more detail, or you can shoot me an email (my hotmail is just terabetha). Though if you do email, you might want to pop a comment at me anyway just incase.
