Wandered about the old forest for a while before settling down beside a tree that was situated within a lovely sunspot. Did not mind being out in the open, as it was peaceful and there were very few deer about. Soon noticed the presence of a beautiful doe (Cassiopeia) who was nearby; curiosity drove the spider-deer to move closer. Was relieved to see that the doe was friendly, and before she knew it they began to romp around together. Felt a little awkward about it at first as she mimicked Cassi's playful movements; she was not used to rearing, but eventually got the hang of it. Chased the doe around, feeling exhilarated and energized.
Began to grow a little nervous as they neared the pond; she is quite afraid of water and prefers to stay away from it. Greeted another doe as Cassi took a drink, but was unnerved when the stranger began to moo over and over again. Grew frightened when a stag closed in on her out of nowhere, further disturbed by his own bellowing. Soon bolted despite Cassi's attempts to neutralize the situation; ashamed of her cowardice, but relieved when the doe sought her out. Wasn't too happy to see the mooing doe following her as well, and sure enough she just wouldn't be quiet. Flustered by this, and flew again when the stag showed up and got too close to her. Hid at the rocks in the playground, relieved when the strangers didn't follow. Sadfaced when Cassi found her again, apologetic for bolting like that. The doe was forgiving, and her very presence was comforting to the spider-deer. Ashamed and embarrassed for giving off such a weak impression on her new acquaintance.
The strangers returned yelling and screaming once again, and inexplicably Cassi vanished. Terrified, the spider-deer made a beeline back to the blue bowl and hid within the thick patches of bluebells. They did not come back for her, but where was Cassi? Despite her distress she soon fell asleep, and was later rejoined by the lovely doe. Did not stir from her slumber, but recognized her scent and felt her presence. Comforted by this, and dreamed more peacefully.
small, lean build with long legs her "fur" is actually coarse, bristly hair bright, shining eyes that are also reflective afraid of water, crowds, loud noises and heights produces silk with spinneret glands beneath tail fangs are venomous; not deadly; puncture and paralyze strictly uses fangs in self-defense; more likely to flee instead usually seen sunbathing in sun patches when she is alone most commonly sleeps at the bases of large trees with brush
Lacuna is a predatory creature who preys primarily on birds, fish, squirrels, rabbits and insects. If she is seen haphazardly galloping about in a contained space, she is chasing down prey. Fawns and minis need not fear as she would never bring harm to them; there is plenty else for her to sustain off of in the forest.
Lacuna has an affinity for females, and adores children. Unfortunately, she is very nervous around outwardly obvious males (may mistaken an effeminate/antlerless male for a female). If a male wishes to befriend her, there may be quite a bit of patience involved as she will not approach first and may flee. Once trust is gained, however, she is a loyal and giving friend. Despite this she will not tolerate being touched by males, even in a friendly manner. On the opposite end, Lacuna is quite physical with mature females (leaning, nuzzling, sniffing, etc.).
A burrower by nature, she will clear patches of earth before settling down to rest (indicated by continuous pawing). She may layer silk around these areas for security, but it is by no means a territorial action.
More coming soon.
frans n' stuff later awhh
Lacuna is strictly a character and does not represent her player.

Haha awh, thank you so much Sight! n_n ♥ I am pretty excited with the concept. I would fill out all of her information tonight, but alas I am tired and braindead. ;; But I suppose that's why they call these things a work in progress! c:
I haven't really tried her out yet, alas, but when I the inspiration returns she will definitely be around! Doin' spider-deer things. c: Thank you for all the tracks in the meanwhile, guys~ ;;
That sounds wonderful, Aquilo! I think that role-playing with her will definitely get me inspired. I am so happy that you're interested in interacting with her. ♥
Vinttage; Oh my gosh, I am so thrilled that you think so! I had a similar visual when I first heard it, too; 'tis why I chose it~ ;u; ♥
The mare lay on the soft grass, her eyes hazed with lazy sleep, her flank rising and falling as she quietly breathed. The air was humid and tiring, and it was days like these the mare tended to sleep. She was still, gazing at the her surroundings, taking in the warm smells and sights. She would occasionally turn to her other side, or lean up to yawn, but the heat was too much for her to stand.
"Perhaps shade would do best," she mumbled to herself, as she gingerly got to her hooves, and sluggishly moved herself forward to a rather old tree, which was already inhabited by small, but loud, birds.
[That is perfectly fine, sweetie! n_n ♥ Apologies in advance if I am slow. ;n;]
Hot days like this were hated by many, but happily welcomed by one particular creature who didn't quite fit typical deer standards. A black doe, her stiff fur flecked with brilliant gold and sunburst, lay stretched out in one of her favorite sunspots right beside the shady poppy patch. It was very sacred here by its very nature: a place for births, and a place for peaceful deaths. The spider-doe had been on a hunt earlier that morning, and a successful one at that. Now she was content to soak up some rays, sated from her meal. However, her senses were still keen even whilst asleep.
Stiff, thick reams of hair upon her crown that acted as makeshift 'feelers' twitched at approaching vibrations in the earth. Instinctively, the doe registered the vibrations as hoofbeats, but they were not approaching quickly and therefore did not pose as an immediate threat. Regardless, something else told her to open her eyes and survey the scene, and so she did. Groggily the spider-doe sat up, blinking her four ruby eyes into focus. When the fog cleared she took in the sight of a large yet unimposing creature making its way to the shady patch. Lacuna watched silently for a long moment, the muscles in her haunches tense and readied for flight.
The creature did not notice her, but something possessed the doe to speak out. The words left her muzzle before she could stop herself, "Hello... Is the weather getting to you, friend?" Perhaps if she spoke first, that creature would not take her to be a threat. Even so, the spider-doe was ready to take flight into the birch at the first hint of aggression.
A small voice had awakened the doe from her dreary state, and immediately stood still, her ears erect and pointing to the direction of the sound. Should she reply? The voice didn't sound threatening, because of it's rather small, elegant tone.
"Yes....very," she replied, looking around, trying to find the source of the voice.
"Where are you? You seem to be well camouflaged..."
