"...thoughts here...."
November 12th, 2015
Yes, I guess I can say I'm gone now. It's been 4 months and I've looked at this site maybe twice. I have absolutely no desire to go into forest anymore. Herla and my other characters are alive and well, though they don't live here anymore. I'm as happy with them now as I've ever been and feel much more satisfied with my creations since removing them from this place. I used to think that would be hard or impossible and if I left, I'd lose them. I laugh now at that, the best way out is through as they say, and then you wonder what all the fuss was about in the first place.
Health challenges continue, and part of that is minimized computer time since it aggravates my conditions to sit and type and look at screens. After a decade dedicated to digital art, I pretty much exclusively do traditional art now. Loving my Copic markers. It has really helped me to find alternative creative outlets like the Ball Jointed Doll Hobby. Starting to sculpt and sew too.
Please don't leave messages here, I'll be unlikely to see them. If you wish to contact me use the email below.
Please do not ask for any of my pictos.

During the walk to get to the edge of the hill he saw her get up from the corner of his eyes and watched as she would approach, they exchanged sniffs and he would let out a chuckle as she displayed a more... playful side. He didn't mind in the least, and it was a welcome thing really to him. In his age, playful and flirting natures didn't bother him in the slightest and really it was nice to see her at least... a little happy for the most part. Aeron watched as she would dart back and forth behind the statues before laying down, following suit himself though he didn't approach. Leaving her to her space.

Here's a song about Herla
Aw, I
0 stands at a distance, its
0 stands at a distance, its dark gaze falling on the black, red-eyed doe known as Herla.
Yet again, that itching is hard at work digging into its brain; the deer shakes its head, trying to throw the feeling out through its ears, but not succeeding, not really. It suppresses a moo, which would have been turned into a spine-chilling roar by the skull mask it now wears. It does not want to give its position away, not while Herla is with others.
So the deer waits; it waits on its toes, then it waits on its belly, waiting for the other few deer to disappear, all the while watching Herla carefully, cautiously, from a safe distance, where it is unseen, hidden within the undergrowth and the shadows, the fog of clouds and the nighttime darkness. When the deer do finally leave, 0 returns to standing. It resists approaching, it resists greeting Herla with a cheerful "hello," as it so wishes it could do...not just with Herla, but with other deer, too.
And so it continues to wait, watching, wondering.
Why does it have this itch in its mind, whenever Herla and it are both in the forest? Why does it get stronger the farther away it is from her, and weaker the closer they are to each other? This happens with few other deer, but, no matter how many deer it happens with, it does not get any more understandable. It just puzzles 0 more and more every time it happens.
It wishes it knew why.

It was chilly out, however, and damp...certainly those were two elements that would do nothing for Herla's illness except make it worse. The most he could do was curl around her and keep her warm, tucking his long limbs around her small, dark frame. His tail was tucked around them as well, the silver mane of hair at the end resting over his clawed fingers. A shiver ran through his body, as he was completely naked of fur. How odd, this fog. It just came out of nowhere.
A gentle hum rumbled in his chest for a moment before cocking his head, gazing down at the doe with dark yet kindly eyes.
(Wow, I haven't posted on this bio in a while! Time to fix that! I hope you don't mind; I just felt the need to write something, haha. Poor Herla. ;; )
((Ah, no this is fine. Been
The little black doe had run on instinct. Safety. For her and her son. Her head pounded and chills wracked through her as she huddled next to the predatory creature with the kind face. He lacked fur but he was warm, she curled into him despite herself. The fever was getting worse. She had underestimated this “cold.” Thought it a mere child’s thing that would only be an inconvenience. But she could feel already it was settling in her chest. Her breathing was heavy and she had not recovered from the hasty flight. Nightmare had gone now at least. She could rest now. It was what she wanted more than anything at that moment.
“Thank you,” she murmured. For some reason, this being had somehow managed to garner her trust and faith, she looked at him with gratitude in her scarlet eyes. “That was Nightmare, I’m sorry to have brought you trouble…you don’t know me very well…” she trailed off shaking her head. Nightmare was a dangerous creature. She had not thought what harm she could have brought this being, she had been beyond coherent thoughts at the time. “I’m glad it did not come to a fight, it was unconscionable of me to drag you into my affairs that way. Please forgive me,” she was blathering a bit. Her vision wavering.
He could feel every shiver
An ear twitched as she spoke, and he regarded her with ebony eyes. They bore a stark contrast to his pale face. "There is no need to thank me, and no need to apologize," the daemon replied quietly, a small smile forming. That was a rarity in itself. "You were frightened, and you wished to be protected. Safe. It is perfectly natural of you to do what you did. Nothing bad had come of it, but if it had I would have done what I could to keep you and Ciel safe," he continued earnestly, the tip of his tail shifting lazily over his forepaws.
His brow knit slightly when he noticed the dazed, almost glazed look in her eyes. "Come," he said softly, rising to his feet and gently helping her up as well. "Let us go to the oak tree. It is foolish to sit out here in the damp cold while you are ill. You will be warmer there." He tilted his head and pawed gently at the earth, that small smile returning.
(I have as well! I haven't RPd Kage in general in a couple of years, so I will adore any opportunity I get to do so. ♥ )
Pff poor Herla being sick. D:
I'm going to put Sho in the highest tree in the forest so he can't make others sick. xD
Or others just have to wear a gaskmask when they are with him. Lmao
((Well Kagekaze certainly
He was reassuring her she realized through her haze. Kind. So kind. She felt sure in her judgment of him. The children flocked to him and she found herself resting easy whenever he was about. He had been nothing but gentle and patient with them. And now with her. He was a trustworthy creature despite his predatory appearance, of this she was now certain.
He was urging her up now, wanted to take her some place warmer. Out of the cold. Yes. She wanted that. She got shakily to her feet and followed him, stumbling only a little as she followed. They reached the oak and she collapsed to the ground inelegantly in a heap of coughing and ruffled feathers. They were puffed out in a fruitless attempt to keep her warm like a sick bird. “Thank you,” she found herself repeating not for the first time.
She’d dozed off then, until Nightmare returned. He’d come through the entrance of the Old Oak, and through her haze she wasn’t certain if it was real or not. Kage had stood and lowered his antlers to the beast, she’d shirked back, plastering herself against the back of the cave like tree behind him, hiding her head, and willing the beast away. When she opened her eyes, he was gone and a pile of greenery now lay at the entrance. She gave Kagekaze a questioning look with her glazed eyes before crawling back next to him again.
((Torturer: ah, Herla adores Sho and would care for him again in a heart beat. She's been running herself ragged though and the cold weather just pushed her over the edge. One of the pitfalls of running a nursery/sick house. XD))
(Haha, he certainly is! I was
The daemon encouraged the doe as she followed him, making sure to not get too far ahead of her. He'd find himself scanning the treeline for threats, almost completely out of instinct now. He could not suppress a frown when Herla collapsed and began to cough once they were inside the oak, and he immediately returned to her side to keep her warm. At her thanks, he silently bowed his head with a soft smile.
Nightmare's return was a surprise, but then again it was almost expected. Once again the beast did not seem to pose as a threat, but the daemon wished to take no chances and was forced to lower his tines apologetically once more. Herla was distressed enough as it is; even if Nightmare meant no harm, his presence was clearly unwanted by her. Kage watched as the beast dropped the herbs he had been carrying and fled, puzzled and yet relieved all over again. With a sigh he turned back to the ebony doe, regarding her reassuringly. "I don't think he will be back again. Rest your head," he stated quietly, his tail automatically wrapping around both of their frames. Sighing, he rolled his shoulders and fixated his gaze on the oak's entrance, his forepaws crossed before him.

((Freyja: LOL, that’s okay, Sorrel is welcome to sit with them. Herla’s rather out of it, she has the flu, so won’t be playing and romping tonight, but what’s wrong with Sorrel? ))

And she's going through a bit of a stage atm, over Yew, her lost fawn. Would you like to rp with her? Perhaps seperately from the current one? Up to you, I don't mind.

With a hoarse, frustrated yell, the doe escaped from those provoking her, swinging her long-winding antlers at air and dust, kicking with strong feet until her nose flared. She'd hit one, or she thought she had; perhaps the doe had imagined it to try and make herself feel better. A stray end to hurt and jab at those who thought her state was for their entertainment. Eventually the ginger slowed, mane still fired out and spiked like an angry cat's, but her pelt now dry after spending sometime asleep at the opening of the creek.
She moved a little, looking around and not seeing those who had been after her before. But she now smelt a friend; not the same scent as usual. Sharper. Something wrong, then. With wobbily feet the doe took slow, tentative steps towards the open space at the base of the great tree, eyeing a few other resting occupants with wide eyes before pausing to drop her head and paw at the earth, tearing up chunks of moss and soil until she was satisfied with her destruction. Sorrel then crawled into the shelter, moving her way up to the base to sit close to the sickly female she was familiar with. The only one there.
"You okay?" She whispered out, afraid of her voice breaking with a wave of emotion. "It's-it's-it's nice in here. Iiiii don't like the noisy ones, no. They- there was this one, who circled, raptorface. So vicious, not nice, not going outside....,"
