Welcome To Lucid Dreaming
Lucid Dreaming is a "Choose-Your-Own-Adventure" game.
Much like The Endless Forest: It has no goal.
If you choose to participate, then you are Lucid Dreaming.
Every night you choose to Lucid Dream you will wake up in a dream.
The setting may be familiar, or completely foreign.
You know that you are dreaming.
Throughout your journey you will be presented with certain scenarios.
I am your guide to these scenarios and will inform you of the consequences of your choices and actions.
Guidelines of Lucid Dreaming:
-At Any time you may wake up. You know how to do this. It might be pinching yourself, or realizing it is a dream, or jumping from something tall. It is personal.
-If you willingly wake up you will have the choice to continue from a specific point from a previous night of your choosing.
-You enter the dream world with a certain level of stress from One to Twenty.
What number you enter with is based on your actual level of stress when you join.
Be honest.
Lying to give yourself more courage will not improve the game for you.
With each reaction to a scenario or action taken you will evaluate how you are feeling.
If you are nervous, scared, or stressed out enough to reach 20, you must leave the dream.
If you are forced out by stress, you will not remember anything from the dream that night.
You may be forced out by "dying" in the dream.
-You may only enter the dream once per night.
-You may be presented with very personal, unnerving, scary, or disturbing settings or situations.
-Some times you will be prompted to provide information.
For example: "This room contains the animal you fear the most. What is it?"
"A pet you loved dearly that passed away is in front of you-describe them"
"A deer has come to join your side, who is it?"
You can choose to answer, or leave the dream.
-Each night will vary in it's length.
An approximate time of each Night will be given when the game is posted.
You have until that time to enter the dream and voluntarily wake up before the night ends.
If you do not voluntarily wake up in the time period you will not retain any information from that night.
You may still participate the next night.
-Everyone speaks the same language in dreams
Everyone in a dream, regardless of what language they are speaking, are speaking a language that you under stand. They may clearly be a foreign individual speaking a foreign tongue, but you will know what they are saying.
-You can manipulate the dream.
You may be as grand or as minute as you wish to be. If you need something you can get it. This is a dream.
however...
-You are yourself.
You only have the skills, abilities, and information that you do at the exact moment you enter the dream that night.
Entering the dream world will not magically give you the ability to play the violin.
You might be able to do something absurd as flying, but you cannot suddenly become a good basketball player.
You are limited in this regard.
-You have two hands.
You can pick up items you might find in the dream. You can retain these items for that night, but have no where to store them. You may carry two small items, or one large item. These items may or may not come in handy.
-You are alone.
You may be in the same setting as another player, but you are alone. You cannot see or communicate with them at this point in time.
Depending on the actions of the players a setting where mutual dreaming may become available. For now: Focus on surviving on your own.
-Your Guide can be slow at times
Depending on what I am doing in real life OR the amount of participants it might take some time to get to your situation or reactions.
Be patient.
-Each night you start in the same default setting unless you have requested one.
You may then explore from the default setting. It is just the 'base point' for all new dreamers.
- At times you may be required to fulfill an obligation or perform a task before you may move on.
Guidelines of The Mansion:
-When you enter the mansion you will be assigned to a team.
Your team will be your savior if you happen to die in the mansion.
-Your mission is to explore the mansion
How you do this is up to you. You may go off on your own or stick close to your team-mates.
-If you die you will become a poltergeist
You cannot manifest your old form or speak.
You must rely on your ability to levitate and manipulate objects to lead your team mates to retrieve your body.
When your body is placed in the main hall you will be revived.
-The mansion is only available until between 10:30 pm EST and 11:00 pm EST unless otherwise noted.

The curtains seem to be made
The curtains seem to be made out of a strange billowy translucent material. It blows out of Tally's hands despite her best attempts to grab hold. How puzzling.
The balcony is wide enough to accomodate ten people atleast.
There are two external lights on either side of the house illuminating the balcony.
Below there is a sprawling lawn with hedges carved into the shapes of animals.
There are woods beyond the neatly trimmed lawn.
There is a stone driveway leading up to the old mansion.
The girl bit her lip and frowned.
"I am not sure. I know something was chasing us and then I felt something cutting into my back and..nothing. I just woke up back here alone and scared."
The topic seems to upset her and she walks over to the fireplace in the room to poke at the burnt lumber.
As soon as your eyes rest on the metal plate the words seem to glow and jump off the page. They are read in a loud booming voice that could easily be heard from any point in the house:
Welcome to The Mansion.
The Mansion is only available on Sunday Nights.
The Mansion fades away around 10:30 PM EST.
Unlike normal Lucid dreams, You do not have to worry about waking up and remembering.
The Mansion exists on it's own plane. It will remember itself.
You will always wake up unharmed from The Mansion.
If you die you will become a spirit until a member of the OPPOSITE team discovers your body and begrudgingly brings it to the main hall.
When you become a spirit you will become a lowly poltergeist.
You cannot speak to living players.
You cannot manifest as your old form.
You can, however, move and manipulate objects.
Your objective is to explore the mansion.

Then I look around. "I guess asking for a blueprint or a map of the house is kinda pointless, huh?"

An unexpected frustration
The curtains are weird, but

Most of the pages only have small bits of scrawling on them and are too badly damaged.
There is heavy water spots on many of the pages and the ink has run.
You can make out a few badly scribbled drawings.
One pictures a large strange flying creature. It has a large grinning face and spiney arms that are holding a stack of books. A bony tail trails after.
There are a few drawings of the hedge monsters.
The words "NO FLOOR" are visible on one page and underlined multiple times.
Another page has the disjointed note of "Likes candy".
The last page appears to be a crude map. It centers around the main hall and seems to have been erased multiple times. You can make out a clearly labeled 'kitchen' as the bottom right door in the main hall. The 'library' is the first door at the top of the balcony.
They must have not gotten very far.
Tera and L both hear a loud audible thump as the table with the objects and Meadow drop into the next hall over.
Meadow appears in the main hall on the ground.
Oh dear, you seem to have fallen quite hard.
No matter, there is a table of objects infront of you.

Rainflower has made the correct observation that they are not alone.
As she makes the declaration there is a loud "whiiiiirrrrr!" sound from the lawn.
She has already retreated far enough back to not be able to observe it though.
The Polaroid starts to develop and shows grinning faces across all of the curtains.
Tally becomes aware, as she stares at it, that there is no breeze coming from outside.
The trees are not moving.
But the curtains are.
Spyrre happened to be looking down, albeit it startled by the voice from the other room.
Her eyes snap up as a second sound alerts her.
She is looking at precisely the right place to see someone going across the lawn on a riding lawn mower.
How strange..it's the middle of the night??
Why is someone mowing the lawn?

I shake my head, I couldn't think of a practical use for it here in an unknown and possibly dangerous place. Baseball bat. It's probably not the best choice, but it would make me feel safer and more confident, something I can use to whack stuff.

It probably will. I had a bad schedule today but I plan on opening it earlier provided that I actually have time to idle at home and play GM throughout the day.

The approximate end time is set, but the start time is open to when I'm around.

The ghost girl nods and yells "Be careful!" as they leave the room.
Jost gives a nervous whirring click and "o 3o" appears on his face.
Spyrre's fears seem to have gotten the best of her.
She looks back towards the rest of her team before she is shook awake and abandons them.
She wakes up in her own room with a pack of matches curiously in her pocket.
Meadow wisely selects the baseball bat and the table disappears.
There is the sudden sound of footsteps as L and Tera race into the main hall to meet their new guest.
It seems they have gained a new team mate.
I'm startled by the noise
As I step back into the main
"This is not a sexy thump." I announce. I'm good with the obvious. Jost, however, gets a hug and I proceed to inform him of everything he's missed in a very speedy manner. I apparently have a +1 in Blabbermouth. Ahem.
However-"Dude, you actually grabbed a weapon." This makes me happy.

They seemed to be twisting silently in their own little world until she spoke.
The curtains immediately whip into a frenzy and attempt to reach out and wrap around her.
The curtains are, however, held firmly by the curtain rods.
The two members are face to face with homicidal sentient ghost curtains.
Tera, L, and Jost the clock seem quite pleased to meet their new team-mate meadow.
Tera catches Meadow up on their discoveries so far.
The bat seems to be a popular choice thus far.
The loud thumping and grinding of the curtains trying to break free alert them to the presence of the potential danger the other team is in.
The whiirring of the lawnmower can be heard from outside.
The large ornate door to the foyer the two teams initially entered from is missing.
It seems that you all are trapped.
I freeze, holding the bat up
The other person came forward, showing me some stuff, and lowered the bat slightly, remaining blank. I just absorbed the information, turning it over in my mind.
I screech and pull Tally
At Rain's screech I jerk
From every direction loud
From every direction loud chimings of clocks start.

The walls start to shake

Jost's face lights up with a very distinct 10:30 as the last note chimes out and everything falls apart.
