I woke up today and shook the leaves from my pelt. The sunshine shone down upon me. I moved off heading for the Lake to get some water. As I dipped my head to drink I noticed my pelt and my antlers. I had decided to give myself a change and I thought they looked well on me.

I then looked up and saw a few stags drinking water. I caught myself staring at how there bodies moved. After drinking they had gotten up and began to spar. Usually this would strike fear in me, but at this moment I couldn't look away. Every inch of me wanted to keep looking. There muscles rippled as they splashed about. I saw there antlers clashing and when usually I would have run in terror I felt fixated. I felt a slight burning inside me.

I wanted to have that. Someone beside me. Someone to be close. Then it hit me. I felt my heart leap into my throat. Could it be possible. "No" i had whispered to myself. I shook the idea out of my head. "You can't even approach another Deer.. let alone a Stag..." but even when I was telling myself this. I knew it to be true.

I looked up to find the Stags looking at me. They both bowed and I felt myself flush with color. I quickly ran in the opposite direction. Did they hear me talking to myself. So embarrassing. I found the cemetery soon enough and curled myself in my usual spot. "Should I start to search for one.? How will I go about this? Will I be able to even approach them?". My heart beat gently within my chest...

I didn't want to be alone. Even now I wished I had someone laying beside me. I did not know what I would do, but the time had come. When I got up I would try and befriend a Stag. "Tomorrow...hmm... What am I getting myself into?" were my last thoughts as I drifted off to sleep.
