Mates

Yesterday, and a few days before that, I saw four couples in the forest, and when I approached them and bowed, they either ignored me or did angry emotes. One pair of deer bowed back, bowed again, and then left. It feels horrible being excluded from a group. They weren't even doing anything but sitting around in the first place, so I don't see how I bothered them at all, or why they felt they needed to leave.

Because they wanted to sit

Because they wanted to sit together and not with someone else.

Dont take it personally just go and find someone else to play with.

To be honest, I see no reason

To be honest, I see no reason as to why they'd react angrily towards you.
That's just downright rude.
But when they leave/ignore you, it's mostly because they want to spend time with each other and only each other. Like Kovah said before, just go find someone else to play with ^^

Might just depend on the deer/the players/if they're roleplaying(?), really. None of my deer mind if you go to sit with them, even if they're with their partners. I'm always worried I bore em, though! But I understand how you feel. Just keep in mind, they don't know what they're missin. Go give another group company! They earn it more.

Sometimes, even I think

Sometimes, even I think couples like that are utterly ridiculas... xD;

If any of my characters ever get paired up, I'd make sure company is welcomed and treated politely whether or not we like it. There is, after all, plenty of time to be alone if one wants it.

That is ridiculous, and downright rude in my opinion. :/

I hope I am not included in this; sometimes Sithrim sits with Maia somewhere but we're sometimes RPing so we are not really paying attention to others in-forest.
But he would never make a rude emote for others, unless they threaten them.

Ah, this has been happening

Ah, this has been happening ever since deer started pairing up. It's rude as can be, but people will keep telling you that it's 'in character' and all that, so I don't know how to change their minds. :\ Sorry they were like that to you.

It does seem once deer take

It does seem once deer take on a mate, they get all "OMG OVERPROTECTIVE GO AWAAYYY OR I'LL EAT YOU", which is highly unnecessary. There's a big difference between being overprotective and just being a jerk. This is coming from pairs that attack you... If they ignore you, well, I find that even single deer tend to ignore my characters, so that's just a normal part of the forest I suppose.

...In fact, now that I think about it, the only 'friends' my deer have in forest are people I talked to first over messengers. Hm...

I cannot believe that this is true. But it is. 8|

I agree that the aggressions

I agree that the aggressions were unneccessarry. People need to relax about the roleplaying. Smiling
I'm sorry that this has been happening. If you ever see one of my deer in forest, we'll gladly play with you!

The same happened to me,

The same happened to me, today. While it is understandable that sometimes deer might just want to spend time with each other, I couldn't help but feel quite... hurt, in a way, as their aggression was unnecessary considering my polite approach..

Sometimes I sit my deer down

Sometimes I sit my deer down when I'm away from the computer, or doing something else like drawing. If a deer bows to me, and I have time I'll bow back and then sit back down. I don't mind if you sit down beside me, in fact that's really nice. I guess what I'm saying is don't get so bent out of shape just because somebody is not 'even doing anything but sitting around'. Still, I think it's silly of someone to shoo another player away just because they want to spend time with their friends/mate/whatever. On the same coin though, the other players of TEF are not here for your amusement Suzer, and as long as they're being polite (saying goodbye before leaving or what have you) they've done nothing wrong. Not everyone wants to play with you at the drop of a hat, so find somebody else who's looking for a friend, I'm sure they'll appreciate it! Smiling

I agree that politeness needs

I agree that politeness needs to be kept and everything, but at the same time we're here here to play TEF as well, we aren't here to please and play with you all the time, if someone doesn't want to play with you shrug it off and find someone else (:
