The day has barely started, I believe. Or is it almost at an end? Honestly, I have no idea. The Gods as you call them don't seem to follow any sort of schedule. Very spontaneous weather changes, I hear, though I haven't seen any for myself yet.
Well so far, I've had a bit of fun and a bit of...well. I'll just tell you about yesterday and the day before, shall I?
It started off with my meeting a little blue-furred deer, I believe. I think I had fooled around with some others before that, but I soon grew either too bored or too shy to continue and ended up wandering off. Anyway, I don't think he told me his name, and if he did I regret not remembering it. At least he has that lovely halo above his head, hm? Ironic really, 'halo'. This isn't Heaven, is it? Maybe it's the closest thing.
But anyway, don't you call it a pictogram?
Well, that deer with the lovely sky-blue coat has his pictogram, in stunning yellow, along the side of his body! I've never seen that before. Not that I've seen a lot, of course, but is that normal? I don't know, and who will really tell me?
We spent a good while playing around with a golden doe whose name I also do not know. She was a bundle of fun, and so was the other~ The unnamed doe seemed quite fond of er, showing affection to my rear end shall we say -- getting nice this, isn't it? -- and I subtly returned the favour.
Or I tried to anyway, she kept moving and laughing at me, the little devil!
Ah well. All in good fun, you know, I don't mean anything by it.
But eventually I had to rest, near the river I recall, and when I awoke the blue deer with his strange coat was still by my side! At first I thought maybe I'd only been sleeping for a few minutes, but after I fell asleep again and re-awoke and he was still there I thought differently. I was touched; it was very sweet of him to sit by me while I slept like that. I remember playing with him and another deer for a short while before leaving...
The next day, which was yesterday, and maybe it wasn't even a day but I'm going to bloody well assume it was, was a bit eventful too. My memory is terrible; maybe it's because I'm so unsure of time here, but I keep forgetting the order of things. Sigh.
I was minding my own business for a while -- what?!, I hear you say! -- and just wandering, studying some of the mushrooms on the trees and such. There's a very limited amount of flower species in this forest! Hyacinths, poppies, and dandelions. And pond weed, but let's not go there. Anyway.
I came across a giant bird.
A giant bird?
A giant bird.
I'd seen a raven or two before, but this massive thing was huge! How could it fly?! With a jolt I reeled backwards, only to realise that the deer around the bird were laughing. I stared.
Was it okay to go closer?
I decided not to find out. Not that I really had the chance; the bird took flight and nearly blew me away as it flapped its wings. A bit shaken, I moved on. I spent my time with a few very small deer after being transformed, it seemed, into a bunny!
Haha!
The deer seemed to like me when I was that small creature. Who doesn't love a bunny to snuggle up to? And I was braver, too, able to run around and dart underneath the larger mammals. One deer in particular seemed to enjoy my rabbity company; a small deer, with a brown and orange coat, what I've learned is the 'real deer' mask, and strange antennae-like antlers sprouting from her head. Well, I think it was a she. She looked like a deer with butterfly features.
Strange. It reminded me of my former, shortest life.
Which also reminds me that I spent a good while chasing and laughing at the butterflies in the flower patches...I hope I didn't hurt any of them. I was quite careful.
Anyway, I later helped a deer to regain their preferred appearance, and that was a feat in itself. I'm not exactly an expert, I've only done it...once.
Her name, I learned, was Lady Red. How lovely! She was a shy, quiet doe, and I enjoyed her company very much. I later discovered that she was good at calming my ferocious temper once it had been roused.
Why was I angry, you ask?
Because all my life I have hated being ignored, and despised situations where two friends stick together and I am left out. And a situation similar to this happened in the forest, though the deer were not my friends. I thought it was safe to just approach and say hello in this place.
Apparently not with some.
Anyway, they were just standing around doing nothing, very close to eachother, so I approached and bowed. When I got no reaction I remained there, bewildered, head tilted to the side. Red stayed a distance behind me, watching on warily. After a bit more bowing and headtilting I got a response, but it wasn't what I'd been looking for; one of them 'taunted' at me, growling and stomping their hooves. My ears pinned back against my head. What the hell had I done to piss them off? I blinked and just tilted my head again, only to recieve body language that seemed to say 'fuck off', quite bluntly.
That made me furious. I could go wherever I pleased, thankyou very much, there was no territory here; there couldn't be. So I taunted back at them, though truthfully still a bit wary. I had never fought as a deer, and I don't intend to. What if they attacked? Would I have to run? What about my companion, Lady Red?
Anyway, they ended up moving and I followed, determined to figure out what I'd done wrong. Eventually I decided not to piss them off any further, or myself, for rage was boiling in my chest.
Hmph.
I walked off and lay down in a patch of flowers, trying my best to calm down. It wasn't until Red rejoined me that I managed to do so, drifting off to sleep by her side once my temper had faded.
She has a very calming presence.
Well, that's...it, I suppose.
Hm.
The pond is quite nice. I'm not a fan of all the mud, though.
"It was a pleasure to make your acquaintance the other day. I am called Blue." The little deer bowed. "As to my pelt's markings..." He glanced at his flank, studying them for a bit. "I'm not really sure why they match my pictogram. But I do find it ironic how they resemble a dragonfly." He smiled to himself, as if the irony were greater than it seemed.
Oof, been a while hasn't it? Sorry about that.
Well, I've mostly been...sleeping, lately. Very boring, but often fatigue just takes over and there's not much I can do about it.
I had the...pleasure of meeting 'Vee-deer' as she seems to be known by. What a fun doe! She just cannonballed into me and then began running crazily around me, like a bloody white shooting star. Adorable, I have to say. When I sat down, she seemed to like my face. I liked hers, too, so we sat there invading eachother's personal space for quite a while.
Lovely doe.
But anyway, today I came across a rather interesting stag. I believe his name is Kylar? Not an ordinary name, that's for sure; I don't think I've ever heard it before. Perhaps it was made up, I don't know.
He's a fantastic stag to be around, honestly. I haven't had so much fun in a while~
We were joined by several others, and I think one of them may have 'Ama', but I can't be sure. Anyway, I made a few new friends I suppose, and eventually Kylar, myself and...someone else wandered off. I ended up falling asleep against Kylar, which yes, was a bit embarrassing.
Well, er. This is short, isn't it?
I think a red deer might be stalking me. Ah well. They're pleasant enough.
