There is no word that we know that encompasses true grief. Not one set of syllables in the English language - or in any language, for that matter - can truly convey how it feels to lose someone near and dear to you.

You might think you hear it, late at night when you're lying in your bed; it's that sound that you hear when you've been crying too hard, that thrumming agony of blood, rushing through your temples, your ears.

You might think that you can picture it, looking at a photograph of a smile that you'll never see again. It is something you catch out of the corner of your eye, a figure, an image, a something that you can't quite explain - because there is no word that we know that encompasses true grief.

But I know that no matter what you believe in and no matter where you go, no moment, no hour, no year of extended grief makes it easier. We do not, at great length, get tomorrow back. We can't step backwards to any length and reclaim what we've lost - because there is no word that we know that encompasses true grief.

There are paintings, however: there are spanning legacies of words, of ink, of oils and canvases that have, for as long as we might remember, represented joy, happiness, and the love that we share for those that we know.

Hard as it may seem to be, remember not your grief, nor should you try to fathom the words that might encompass it - though, no matter how hard you try, you will inevitably fail.

Instead, endeavor in your way to remember the happiness: every time you try to grasp, blindly, for those words that are not real, instead remember the images, the lines, the paintings that your cousin had the chance to draw, to write, to picture with you.

In your life, spread out that beautiful legacy, those moments that you do remember, the images that you can hold in your hands, your mind, your heart.

Forget your words of grief - because there is no word that we know that encompasses true grief.

It's that way for a reason.

i have seen her username before somewhere but i can't quite put a finger on it but that's not the point, i'm very very sorry to hear such news, it's upsetting to know that you can be able to see someone one day then gone the next, as upsetting as it is you can be assured that she is in a better place, i know exactly how you feel, i've had a couple of sudden losses and yes it is very upsetting, i'm probably screwing up all i've been trying to say, but put your chin up and smile don't be let down and saddened because you'll only feel worse, trust me i know,i wish your family much hope and love for the future *hugs you very tight*
