Rubbing against pine trees gives a pinecone, and eating that gives you an antler spell to cast on another deer.

Sitting next to sleeping deer gives you a pelt spell to cast on another deer.

Eating mushrooms off of a tree gives you a mask spell to cast on another deer.

Sleeping inside a mushroom circle gives you an animal spell (crow, frog, bat, rabbit, dove, squirrel) or a spell to shrink deer, also referred to as the Mini spell. You cast the spell on another deer.

Basically, you can't cast general spells on yourself.

Running through the Crying Idol at the end of the stream gives you a red pelt. With this pelt nobody can cast magic on you. You MUST sneeze it off for anyone to cast magic on you. It disappears when you log out, so if you use it as a permanent piece of your set you have to go and retrieve it upon each log in.

Praying at the Twin Gods statues on the hill gives you a temporary white pelt (devout) that you can cast on others. People with an older version of the game can keep this pelt permanently with the help of a glitch. The issue with using the older version is that you cannot see the third generation of pictograms. It has also been said that you cannot log in with a generation 3 pictogram, and any pictograms registered at or after January 2012 are Generation 3.

Rubbing your antlers in flowers puts flowers on them. You can give these to another deer, but then they disappear off of your own antlers.

Jumping into the pond strips you of your magic, so you have to reload everything when you get out.

Mini-deer have issues with pelts. They have to perform a glitch to get their pelt every time they either log in or someone casts a pelt spell on them. With this in mind, we don't cast pelt spells on mini-deer because they can't sneeze them off.

Fawns cannot keep any magic other than flowers or candles.

Candles are available around Halloween time, or when the Gods allow it otherwise. Some people with older versions of the game can cast them as well, if asked.

The DOTD set (Sugar Skull Mask, Skeletal pelt, Short spiky antennae) is castable only by players with the older version of the game.

The Zombie set (Skull mask, gray zombie pelt, big red antlers) is only available around Halloween, and can not be casted by anyone but the Big Zombie Deer.

There are various pelts and masks that the Gods cast on deer when they are in the forest. Some can be saved while others disappear upon logging out.

Edit: OH! As a final note here: remember to always save your set. You will keep whatever set pieces you log out wearing. Load your set before logging out to make sure you keep it.
