How does the forest make you feel?

benevolence's picture
I have just recently logged on to the forest after a long leave. I forgot how beautiful, symbolic, and peaceful it is. This may sound strange but playing makes me want to spend more time outdoors reconnecting with nature. I am curious to hear how it makes other players feel. And maybe to make sure I'm not overreacting to it from not playing for so long. Sticking out tongue

Usually it just feels lonely though.

Although at times it can get to be aggravating, or saddening.

I agree with the lonely

I agree with the lonely comment, although this is mainly due to the fact most people act in-character.

Sometimes the Forest makes me feel good though. Reminds me of the times when my deer had plenty of friends.

Yeah, it can be lonely. But,

Yeah, it can be lonely. But, I'm a bit of a loner so I guess that's what initially attracted me to the game. I'm not sure I understand how it could be aggravating though. *scratches head*

I myself tend to get too

I myself tend to get too involved in-game and string my character's emotions onto myself.
Horribly stupid habit but no matter how hard I try I always end up getting too into it. ;w;

Most of the time I'm lonely

Most of the time I'm lonely 'cause I'm too wary how another would act with me. Sometimes I like being in OOC, which makes it harder 'cause a lot of people are IC.

I also agree with Rikka.

I also agree with Rikka.

It does feel lonely alot of times.
I think I often forget that some deer in this forest are not embodiments of what their players are feeling, which is why I try not to take being chased away or anything related seriously as a player.

Other than that, the forest brings out my creative side, and I always have fun with the friends that my deer and I have made here.

The Forest is a home, a safe

The Forest is a home, a safe place I can come back to when I can't go anywhere else.
It can be lonely at times, but there are so many folks willing to play if you can just work up the nerve to approach them.
I see over and over again, dozens of players saying "I'm afraid to approach others because I don't know if they're sitting alone because they want to be alone," and then at the same time saying "I sit somewhere in hopes that someone will come by and say hello, but they never do." You're staring right at each other, both wanting to interact and both too scared to do it!
The Forest was made as a medium for players to come across each other, to meet, and to work together to make something out of what they're given in an artful environment. Use it.
If you want to stay IC but want to interact, don't make a shy character. Just find another deer or two and start hopping and dancing and just go for it.
If you are unlucky the first time and find a deer who doesn't want to interact, bow and walk away and find someone who will. They're there, I promise.

Sometimes it makes me feel

Sometimes it makes me feel claustrophobic, stuffy, and antsy.
But most of the time it makes me giggly and so very happy, or just generally relaxed.

I have noticed that since playing it that when I go outside to a forested area, I'm out much longer than I used to, just to appreciate all the plants and animals.

Agreeing with all of you..

Agreeing with all of you.. sometimes The Forest makes me take on Myszka's character and I get nervous or scared about things I wouldn't be if I were playing OOC. But normally, it's relaxing and has its brief moments of fun and games. I remember logging on after a long absence and staring at all the sunbeams caressing the forest floor and hearing the birds chirping somewhere out of sight, and just hurridely getting Myszka his pelt so I could make him sit in a flower patch and enjoy the scenery.

It's wonderful Smiling I agree with Benevolence completely.
This land is made of love and peace!

For me, it all depends on the

For me, it all depends on the company my deer has at the time.

Actually... A bit drained, dozy. Lazy. Boredom/lonliness usually starts this.

It can also be interesting and fun, but... How can I say it, it's getting too "complicated" to just spazz around like I did before.

For me, the forest is very... peaceful in a way. Hearing the birds chirp and seing the sunlight shine down through the trees makes me feel like im in another world, somehow. Sorry if that seems silly, lol.
The forest is also kind of holds an element of suprise for me. Running through the forest and exploring new areas was always fun for me. Im probably only saying that because im new, though, lol.

Lonely...oh, so lonely. My doe Sodesi seems to have very few friends, and in standing within a distance of the Playground was chased away for some reason. I did not take it personally of course, just mentioning it to support my point a bit.

I don't know how I'd get by without TEF. It is everything for me, and I consider it home! If I could jump through the monitor and really be in the forest, I would! Laughing out loud
