How did ya come up with a deer name?

Im trying to come up with a deer name and im sort of stuck, i have been checking words in other languages but i haven't found any 'mystical' and 'enchanted' sounding names to fit the theme of TEF. So yeah, title says it all.

I would suggest you think

I would suggest you think about your deer's or your own personality when deciding a name, however it's tough to give any tips on this because if somebody decides the name for you or guides you too much in deciding it, you may not feel as connected to the characters. Your character doesn't always need to be "mystical/enchanted" , I know many people here who just named their deer after what they felt comfortable with. There aren't any rules to decide the name.

I named my deer Manda just because I liked it. Yep, I kind of made that name from the word mandarin, because those are my favorite fruits. I figured since Manda is this sweet and a playful personality and a bit of a romantic, I'd make something out of it. In the end, I have a unique name that I'm comfortable with and it reflects my personality even if the name itself isn't lore friendly and doesn't make much sense. The name is associated with great memories. End of rant. Smiling

Your deer's name doesn't

Your deer's name doesn't really need to be 'mystical' or 'enchanted' as you put it, it can be whatever sounds good to you. Personally, I picked a letter to begin the name and thought of different names starting with that letter until I found one I liked, then out came Daghenral.

I got Copolymer's name off the back of a Dr. Pepper chapstick, if I remember correct!

I picked the name La for my

I picked the name La for my deer because in-character it was the first thing she could say (I almost went with "wa" or "ma" as a name actually but decided against it) and because it's a very common syllable in many different languages (and the character grew up to be a polyglot) as well as having the 'singsong' aspect.

Mine generally got their

Mine generally got their names from their pictos when I registered them. Since most of my deer started as ooc deer/rough idea "want to have this" characters. This happened with Draak, Corvus and Chime.

Ren was named Ren/Renoir cos it was the only French name I could think of at the time and it stuck.

Cirrus I forget.

Aura's picto name is Avaciel and I forget why she ended up as Aura...I THINK it was because Quamar/Tuhka and I couldn't decide on a name when I found the picto and we just used that cos it was a mashup of words lol. And then we eventually decided on Aura.

My recent deer didn't go through this mostly because they were existing characters of mine:
Christian was named as such cos I liked the sound of the name.

With Kostya I needed a Russian name and sifted through piles of name sites before he ended up with Kostya; Russian version of Constantine.

Although generally with me and naming things I take forever cos I suck at naming things LOL
