The
crowdsourcing campaign to remake The Endless Forest so we can expand it is at
12% of its goal now, thanks to 120 lovely people putting their money into a project that everyone will be able to play for free and that encourages peace and tolerance and beauty and friendship across cultural and social divisions.
It is natural for campaigns like this to have a peak in support in the beginning and one at the end. And between those two peaks is a valley of only gradual progress. We are optimistic, but our peak wasn't really high enough to justify hope that we will reach our goal at the end of the month.
In comparison, our previous crowsourcing campaign, Cathedral-in-the-Clouds had reached a slightly higher amount at this point in the campaign but only succeeded in reaching its goal thanks to an enormously high peak in the last few days. I don't think we can count on a miracle like that for The Endless Forest.
So we will try to fight the valley as hard as we can, and try to create a bridge rather than let things slump.
YOU are a big part of this! Please consider contributing to the campaign, if only a little just to keep it going. And definitely ask all your friends and family members to help. Explain how special the game is and how important it is for you.
Promise you'll stop nagging about it if they back the campaign.

There are 170,000 registered Endless Forest accounts. If everyone would donate a quarter we'd be done. But of course that's not going to happen. So we all need to make up for the slackers (and the poor).

I completely understand that you guys are only asking for what you feel is necessary and respect that of course, but if we had a little more time to get it together for you, that would be infinitely helpful. We're still super early in the campaign but I think we'd need a significant donation from outside sources in order to scratch the surface of this goal. I want so badly to see this place get the love and remake it deserves, and if I had the funds, I'd be sending them your way in a heartbeat. But I'm just one person and it's no secret that my coffers aren't exactly overflowing orz
An extension would be great, even if it was only for another month or two potentially. I've already seen plenty of blogs with people putting up slots for commissions to help donate every little bit possible, which is amazing, but they need time to do that too and not everyone works at the same speed. Don't get me wrong - even if we're miles away from our goal, I'll be thrilled to bits to see even the smallest changes in the forest because this place is so close to my heart and to those of so many people here too, but we wanna reach that goal every bit as much as you do ;w; if there's anything at all that can be done to extend it even a little bit, that would be fantastic ♥

Also, admittedly, the goal that we have set on IndieGogo more honestly reflects what we actually need. On Kickstarter we were just looking for something to get a very big project off the ground. But it will take many more years (and lots of money) to get to a stage where we are satisfied.
Of course, the budget on IndieGogo is an estimate. Reaching our goal would give us 9 months to remake the game. We estimate that we can do a good job in such a period. But if we would finish earlier, we'd just use the remainder of the time to expand the game. So nothing will be wasted!
