im new to the endless forest
ive seen people pre playing it on sites but I was wondering how you play as your user or how you get your symbol above the deers head?

To get your deer's symbol, you just need to sign in. Once you get into the game, press ESC to bring up the menu and click on Netowrk. It'll give you a place to sign in. You use the same username and password you use for here unless you got more than one picto account, in which you just type in the one you want. The rest happens on its own.
For roleplaying, just text parts of it is on the site. Some people prefer text. Some use just the forest and the in-game actions and events to make their story, some use both. Not everyone roleplays though.
