Fan art in the game!

Hello there!
I am Margo Putzeys, a student Game- and Digital Design and I am currently doing my internship with Tale of Tales. I am still studying but I will be entering my Master year next schoolyear.
For my internship Auriea Harvey and Michael Samyn asked me if I wanted to work with the players and make models and concept art together. And with great pleasure I accepted this of course! This means you will be able to add art to the game!

But there are some 'rules' attached to this: If you make a 3D model, pleas send it as an .OBJ file to me. But a .Blender file ( Blender's file extension ) would be even better! But a .OBJ is good as well! As for the concept art you can send a photoshop file, PNG of JPEG.

So what can you make? Well it's like a set that the deers can wear in the game! This set includes: a mask, antlers and a pelt. Both made for the adult deer AND the baby deer. You can (if some of you know how and want to) texture these models by using a UV map. If you do texture them, send texture files as a PNG. ( PNG supports transparancy )
But of course you are never obligated to making more than you like. The meaning of this task is also for me to make stuff, so if you only would like to make the adult deer's models, that's fine by me. I can always texture them, add models, etc.

So if any of you are interested in putting your art or 3D models in the game. Send them to me and I can adjust them if necessary or take a look if something needs to be changed and so on.
You can of course also send your concept art to me and I can realise that concept art into a 3D model which may have a chance to be put in the actual game: The Endless Forest!

To be clear, we want Margo to do ALL of the modeling and ALL of the texturing. Because that is what her internship is about. YOU, players, are requested to send her concept art or point her to already existing concept art (on this very website, for instance). SHE can choose which concepts she models and textures. But WE, Auriea and Michaël, choose which go into the game. We hope there will be many!

Edit: Also, I second that black jaguar pelt. Would be nice to see a dark pelt in the game.

I can't say that really Raktea, depends on how difficult some are and how fast I work

Pelts are made way faster because those I only have to texture. But for masks and antlers I first have to model and THEN texture them. So only pelts are made quite fast and easy

I like it Kohva, altho I am not really a fan of the antlers :3 They do look like smoke but they are not so fitting as antlers imo.

To be honest elsaelar, I was thinking about maybe making YingYang because altho those are really basic, I like the concept a lot

And TEF has got the BAN pelt tho I heard it's a god spell cast only? So that means it doesn't last when you close the game ( or so I read here ). So maybe it will be fun to have one that stays? :3

Also voting for some mule deer or white tail deer style antlers! Want those so, so bad. See if I can do some concept art later on. Fallow deer antlers would be amazing, too.

Love that swan concept by Jin, too. I think that's definitely something worth considering, would please the masses - not only would you get your white pelt, but your antlers similar to a whitetail's (been dying to have some in the game) and a full, completed set with the mask. Plus, not overly difficult to model/texture, but also not too plain/boring.

Honestly, I'm not big fan of them either. :'D I just liked the idea of smoke antlers but I don't have any idea how to make decent looking smoke antlers...
I might try making alternative antler and mask designs for some of my pelts later - masks and antlers are really hard to design.

I love all those concepts as well, and especially the white-tailed deer antlers on the swan. We need more real-based antler varieties. Maybe an "invisible" antler too so we can have an antlerless/featherless/other option.

"I want something that's antlerless." "I want a black pelt." "I want a white pelt."

An antlerless feature won't happen. Why do you think M&A always got upset when people hacked the game so the deer model had no antlers? That's not what they want for it. They love antlers. So, why would they include an antlerless option? Also, the devout pelt and BAN pelt aren't permanent for a reason. They're special.

People seem to be digging up old stuff and commanding things upon Margo what THEY want to see instead of letting her pick. Don't flood Margo, people. She picks what she wants to make. In the end, M&A will decide what she makes is implemented into the game or not.
