The Diary of Seed, 7-30-09 (warning: long and image heavy)

Seed's picture

Early in the morning, I woke up and browsed around for a little while: I met a shy fawn that I didn't recognize. I followed the fawn around for a while, trying to draw nearer, to close that distance. Eventually, the fawn came close enough to sniff me, but even before I departed, the distance had widened.

When I arose, I smelled Lemon asleep on the hill outside the lake. She awoke after not too long. She's changed her look -- she's changed. Summer has come to her, inside and out, and she flushes to it. Trouble's coming, and coming, and come, but she seems much more mature than last I saw her, long ago... Everyone around me seems to be moving forward, putting forth new growth where last season had harshly pruned. I'm happy for them, come what may.

We were joined in our play by Queze and by another deer, I assume a doe, who seemed very nice -- I'd like to meet her again.

Queze ran us over to Vala, sitting in the mushroom circle by Payton's sleeping spot. I tried my best not to look, because the moment I looked, I would hope that if I stared just a second longer, her body would rise up out of the aether to fill it. We ended up settling and stopping right in front of it, where her scent had drained -- from rains and snows and fogs -- somewhere deep into the soil, growing up with the fresh generations of grass. I gladly got up, along with Queze and the doe, when a pair of stags on the hill started fighting for some reason. It was a moment's respite, as we sat back down to await Lemon's getting up (she vanished, however, leaving me feeling oddly cheated for a moment.)

I led us running away from that spot, that smell... We had some tree-mushroom snacks, and Queze amused us with sit-sliding, while I tried to ride him like a pony. He was not a coorpertive steed. We ended up near a more flower-dense area, and the doe led us to sitting in, really, the most charming spot: I had never really noticed it before. It's a little throne of ferns, looking out from or out into a patch of purple flowers. We sat for a while with the butterflies fluttering away at our backs. It was really quite nice. After a while, Lemon returned, and it became jump-y time and dance-y time.

Queze left after that, and for a while it was just the ladies and I...and some stag I didn't know. Lemon kept listening to something, and it seemed to unnerve her, even as we tried to comfort her. I didn't hear anything unreasonable, though. A stag arrived and kept roaring and shaking his head. As we went off to help him, I turned back to notice that the doe was telling us goodbye. We stopped and said goodbye -- I decided that she had earned a nuzzle at about the same time she nuzzled me for that perfect moment of nuzzling in unison, our necks interweaving like the necks of swans.

We followed after the stag and began helping him with masks. It mostly became a magic-fest after that, and after we were done with helping him, we went to help another deer -- I suppose a friend of Lemon's. And another deer..After which point I think it sort of devolved into the least interesting sort of magic, recreational magic. It just sort of became, no offense intended, a mess of spells. I've never been fond of casting spells for the heck of it: eating mushrooms and pinecones, yes, but leaving the spells inside me, uncast, where they warm the soul with golden heat. After a while, however, we departed that buisness for more running and bouncing. Then she had to go and I, seeing no more reason, curled before her and went to sleep as well.

I awoke several hours later to notice Scape sleeping in his shallows. After a little waiting he awoke, and our antics began. For a while, it was just the normal array of bouncing and dancing, with some additional log-sitting fun, but ater a while, we found a new little game for ourselves. He would begin to walk in a very tight cirle (the sort he's very good at, and no one else I have seen can manage), while I run in a wider circle around him the other way, with our focuses swinging around in a direction as we do, creating the ultimate dizzying spin, making a shape like the shapes of whirlpools or galaxies, twinkling off into the distance.

After this, we ran to refresh ourselves with a drink, and there ran into Sithrim, who offered to spar one of us, though we declined. We bounced around for a bit, and Sithrim ran off without us really following.

We ourselves began a delightful bouncy trek through the forest, winding our way through the trees. It was the exact sort of thing I love, so easy and uncomplicated, with each tree ringing out its own scent, its own pattern of bark, its own chime as we bounded through and around them, weaving like snakes across the light and dark patches of forest floor, away from disturbance of any sort, at no pace but our own. When we reached the sunset-colored ground of the birch forest, we took a rest.

After our rest, we made our way to the Playground, where we messed around with a rock that was only sometimes phasable. I got in it very well, and acted as press-activated pop-up antlers. Or perhaps my antler tips were acting tiny teeth in the rock, swaying back and forth as I danced. I could not stay much longer than that -- only, after a brief break, long enough for a few jumping games on my favorite sitting rock, where I curled up, pleased at the day's events.

I keep feeling more and more

I keep feeling more and more bad for Seed in his "love situation".
Also, that second-to-last screenshot amuses me. XD

(As a side note, those tight circles are thanks to my controller. |D Very useful.)

Haha, well I guess her picto's revealed, now. xD
Yeah, the secretary doe was my secret-ish Hat Lady... She very much enjoyed today. I'm going to write a diary entry for her as well, soon. Smiling She's glad to have made two new friends, Lemon and Seed. She hopes to see you again sometime!
And poor Seed about Payton... Sad

The mystery is solved!

The mystery is solved! Huzzah! And yeah, Seed would like to run into her again: she seemed nice.

@Pega: It is a good screenshot. I got a lot of good screenshots for Seed and Scape...Unlike Seed and Lemon, where I got no good screenshots! raarg!

But yeah, just in general...I figure that with the Payton thing, something will either be fixed, or something will eventually break. I sincerely (but sadly) view the latter as more likely, but I view both as kind of better in the long term for Seed than his current state of affairs (save for the fact that the longer the current state of affairs goes on, the greater chance of things perhaps eventually being fixed, at least a little). He is, in fact, a very sad sack...This is, however, in gameplay offset by the fact that he's a bit of a stepford smiler, which is something I don't think I really mention in his bio, but I think is very true.

This was a wonderful day, I

This was a wonderful day, I think. Lemon certainly enjoyed it, at least -- she could not ask for better company than her brother. When they first met, they were quite different from one another in character; but I think she is -- as you mentioned -- growing more mature, and more similar to Seed as time goes on. I think at this point, they really could pass for natural siblings. x3

The reason she was so off-color for a bit, was because she kept hearing Envy roaring in the distance. Lemon witnessed an epic battle between Envy and Walter the day before, so she's still a little wary about him. But wouldn't you be? Any fool who willingly goes at Walter on two separate occasions (or more, but I only know of the two incidents) is a force to be reckoned with! xD And their fight was no trifle; it was quite long and ferocious.

As for the Hat Lady! I'm so happy Lemon got to meet her! :'D She is such a lovely, lovely doe; Lemon truly enjoyed her company. <3 I hope to read that diary entry you mentioned -- I'd love to hear the HL's take on the day's events. c:

I'm kind of reminded of when

I'm kind of reminded of when Scape was missing Tempo last year. He'd be so depressed when he was alone and his thoughts could take over. But when distracted by friends, and thus unable to fall into depressing thoughts, he seemed fine.
(I'm still wondering what happened to Tempo, or rather the human WhiteWind. I'm worried actually. Cuz when it was 8 months after her disappearance, I randomly found her YouTube account, and it had been inactive for, well..8 months. o_o)

@ Pega: Yeah, that's

@ Pega: Yeah, that's basically Seed (well, except for his stepford smiler tendencies, so sometimes his internal monologue will be lonely and sad even when he's behaving normally in front of friends)...and that IS worrying.

@ Lemon: You're right -- they have been getting more similar...at least in certain ways. Seed always felt he was more like Lemon than Lemon thought, and I half-agreed with him. They're certainly both self-deprecating enough... (Besides, their position as adoptive family has nothing to do with personality. just lurve.)

...When I put it all in perspective, it occurs to me that the forest really needs a therapist. We have basically every other type of character, except the one everyone really, really needs.

I keep jokingly saying that

I keep jokingly saying that the human version of Blue would be a psychologist. XD I doubt he'd be a good one in deer form though, since he used to be a dragonfly and doesn't completely understand deer. He's been "observing their ways" though.
