entry #1 | 5/24/2026
barayas went about his day as usual, sleeping in his hollow and bowing to the twins. the forest felt quiet.. until a little fawn awoke him with their hollering. barayas, at first, shied away from the interaction, as he's not yet accustomed to fawns. however, soon he was showing the fawn all his favorite places, like de drinkplaats, the ruin, and even his homely oak.
after all that trotting and spellcasting, he settled back into his oak as watched the fawn prance away. for a quiet homebody like barayas, this small moment of companionship filled his day to the brim.
entry #2 | 5/30/2026
the tree roots parted as barayas poked his head out into the air with a creak. the atmosphere was temperate, warm with leaf-filtered sunlight. today, barayas felt brave enough to move about.
the pitter-patter of living beings was what initially disturbed the slumbering sequoia. barayas followed the glow of a pictogram to two creatures. barayas, shyly containing his excitement, pranced over as naturally as he could.
however, as he had finished his practiced greeting, barayas soon realized he had no idea how to continue this interaction. the sequoia froze up- how do you socialize again? frantic, he decided to imitate the mischievous behavior reflected by the creatures he'd met prior.
that ought to show that is he is a normal deer, just like the other creatures!
he eagerly pushed his head toward the creature, casting the spell with all his might. yet, watching in wait for the deer to go tumbling back in laughter, barayas became confused. understanding the emotions of his fellow forest-dwellers was still foreign to him. he found himself stumbling through communication with this deer, and reverting into his anxiety, went trotting away with pitifully awkward creaks.
his wooden head was all sorts of scattered. the sequoia settled down near the place that eased his wooden soul, de drinkplaats. the chitter of birds, the trickle of running water, and the light tinkling of magic that soothed his worries. he settled his head down upon the amber grass and let his insecurities melt back into the earth.
goodnight, barayas.
