Question for Nerri or anyone who knows her deer~

Hi Nerri Smiling I'm starting the animation for your deer now. I just need clarification on the mask your deer is wearing. I can't see it clear enough from your sig to be 100% sure I'm drawing the correct one.

If there's a bigger image/screenshot/etc anyone could show me, I'd greatly appreciate it!

(I'm looking forward to this one- the skelly pelt looks fun to draw!)

Thank you everyone!~

I just felt like saying a huge 'Thank You' to everyone who's sent me fanart lately Smiling

I love each and every one of them. I didn't ask for any (except Trigger's), but it seems they keep coming (lol) and they are all pleasant suprises that I absolutely adore. <3

Love you all Smiling

(If I've missed any, let me know!)

Moogie's Animated Deer ~ Gallery & Requests (OLD THREAD; IGNORE)

Streaming while I work: http://www.livestream.com/gamingwithmoogie (Offline currently)

OLD THREAD ~ IGNORE ~ SEE http://endlessforest.org/community/moogie039s-animated-deer-open-commissions INSTEAD!

It's about time I made a proper thread for this, so here goes! (Read more for info & gallery). By the way, "Online/Offline" means when I'm broadcasting on Livestream, so if you see it 'Online', come stop by and say hello! Smiling

NEWS~ REQUESTS ARE NOW CLOSED (17th Jan)
Hi everyone Smiling

I wanted to make a note here that characters with very long hair will hitherto use the new 'walk' cycle, which I had originally planned to keep to my own.

The reason for this, is that to properly animate long hair billowing at a fast pace would be too complex. It would take far too long for me to draw correctly and would be unreasonably taxing to everyone's computers.

I gave more thought to this, and decided not to give people a choice of animation now that I have two to work from. If I were to give everyone that choice, I would also have to give all my past requestees that choice, and I'd potentially have to re-do old requests again with a different animation. This wouldn't be fair on everyone still waiting to get theirs done. Where possible, I will create all other requests using the 'run' animation as normal.

I'm also closing requests at this point. We're up to 3 pages of requests now, and I still have about 6 left to do on the first page! xD I'm not sure I will ever get all of these done, but I certainly have enough to keep me occupied for a long time already.

Thank you everyone for your patience while you wait, thank you for any giftart you've sent in return for these, thank you for your comments and encouragements, and thank you for understanding the decisions I have made above. Smiling

For Haru~

Tried to get this done before I slept today... there may be some things I missed, but I can't spot them in my semi-comatosed state right now. xD

Let me know if there's anything you'd like changed, but please bare in mind that it is very difficult to line up certain details when all the body pieces are seperate like this. Not all details can be 100% accurate for this reason. I did what I could for his shoulder but due to lots of rotation happening there I couldn't make it look quite right...

Nevermind. Enjoy! Smiling

Code for your sig:

{object width='315' height='240'}{embed src='http://img260.imageshack.us/img260/3748/harucloud.swf' width='315' height='240' wmode='transparent'/}{/object}

(Replace all { } with < > symbols when you copy it-- also I would heartily recommend not exceeding this size, as large sigs can be rather annoying to some people. But it can be made smaller or bigger as you wish, and no detail will be lost.)

Opinions Needed, Pleases :3 (Updated)

I was listening to some music today and had the most awesome little animated 'adventure' play out in my head, urging me to do something creative. So I've started animating a TEF Deer.

Updated as I go:

(If you can't see the image above, you may have Flash/SWF files blocked.)

Current progress: Done; Cleaned up the picto, removed the filter (which was CPU-intensive). The file is now very optimised, small, and fast. Smiling

Edit: Old versions--
Moss & dust effects added
Painting, decorating...
Shading, more leg tweaks
Feet/legs fixed
First draft

After that... I don't suppose anyone would want a custom one for themselves? Smiling I'm not promising anything, but it's very much a possibility at this point, assuming I can remain bothered to do them, lol. I'm terribad with commitments. xD

Oh! As for that big adventure I imagined, maybe I'll find a way to do that too. It'd be a pretty huge project though. In fact the only reason I started doing this in Flash is because I wanted a basic skeleton to draw over- the animation I eventually want to create will be fully hand-drawn, probably greyscale like those funny little stickmen animations you see around the 'net.

Rambling...

Thoughts?

Anyone else getting connection errors today?

I can't connect. Sad It keeps trying to infinity but doesn't work. I don't think anything has changed since yesterday, when it worked fine...

Goofing around and confusing people xD

Oh man, I had such fun with you two today. xD I'd love to know who you were! (I may know you already, my apologies, there's only a few pictos I ever manage to remember/recognise)

We spent most of our time doing the 'sit-moo' glitch, hopping in place, dancing, etc. Later, we stacked up in a tree.

Then I left, to come post this. xD

Thanks for the fun, guys! I was laughing hard at one point. We confused a fair number of people.

By the way, who was the fawn who joined us while we were all halloween'd? You were cute too. :3

Adopted (Who were you, little fawn?)

Today I found a fawn that must have been my own child!

Unmolded thoughts

Hmmm... Returning here has made me rethink an old hobby...

A few years ago I became interested in learning clay modelling, so that I could maybe commission custom little figurines for people here, and maybe even build up a business of sorts around it if I eventually became skilled enough. I'm artistic by nature, but I've never been good enough to become professional in any medium of art. I'm good at drawing, but not fantastic. It's my biggest flaw; I can do lots of things great, but nothing *amazing* that would set me apart and make me actually employable for those skills.

But I had never tried modelling before and knew I was capable of learning how, and the interest and enthusiasm was there. TEF was the inspiration for this. That Christmas, I asked for (and received) a rudimentary set of clays and paints to experiment with.

I made and finished one figure; a deer, which ironically wasn't TEF related at all. By this time I was already drifting away from the Forest and doing other things. The deer was actually something from a game I was playing at the time.

It was difficult. It didn't turn out well. And unfortunately, the combination of leaving the Forest and having such a hard time with the clays (more than I had expected due to their poor quality), I was more than unhappy with the result. I gave up then and there.

But looking at it now, sitting on my shelf as it has done for years after I abandoned the hobby... for a first try, it's actually... not that bad. In fact, considering I followed no tutorials, had no help, no training, no experience, no tips and horrible air-hardening clay that was a nightmare to work with, it's actually... pretty good!

This has only just hit me. Returning here has made me realise that perhaps I was wrong to abandon it so quickly. I could be good at this, if only I worked at it, took it seriously. Hmm...

I'm going to need encouragement and help.
