A couple friends and I spent the weekend together before everyone scattered again to head back to college, and yesterday we went to the zoo to kill some time before fireworks x) Typically the animals are all hiding in the shade at some far corner of their enclosures, especially in heat like yesterday's, but maybe due to the clouds and just the general lack of people there at the time, quite a few were out and about and I got a lot of great photos. Thought I'd share 'em (photos below the cut)






The leapord had a glass wall in front of his habitat, and he was right up in front of it, which would've been great, but he had his back to us xD I tried to get a good photo








The baby elephant was ADORABLE.

The jellyfish were the only aquarium photos to come out well xD And technically, they came out poorly... but at the same time I love how they turned out. They look very ghostly...

And we wandered around the kids' kingdom, just because xD That's where the deer were. There's a giant wooded area that a handful of tame does wander around, and you can pet them. Much farther down the line there's goats and sheep, but more kids were down that way, so we left them be.









And this guy almost followed us out of the zoo xD He tagged along right beside us up to the tunnel leading to the exits.
