.....:Today I awoke with a start once again, my body, for the second day consistant, was frozen and shaking. I stood up, perking my ears, attempting to hear if any deer were near my company. There she was...the dark bodied deer...with a purple mask and slight antlers. I surged foward, stumbling clumsily across the terain with all my might. She saw me, and I stopped myself. I noticed her head turn to face me, before she took off in a full run. I blinked, walking forward cautiously. Perhaps...she wasn't in the mood for dealing with such a strange stag watching her from afar. I took a few steps, puzzled. Perhaps...she simply didn't see me and was simply on her way. Perhaps...I had upset her. I stuttered, before calling out,
"Miss! Please...." I broke into a sprint once again, stumbling over many stones as I followed her to the place dubbed the 'Playground'.
.....:I perked my ears, trying to locate the fleeing doe. She was hiding, I believed, somewhere within this rocky area. I paced, bellowing out with my deep voice.
"Miss..." I paused, leaning against a tree with a sigh. I knew this surely couldn't be a game...perhaps she didn't hear me?
"Miss...please show yourself...I apologize if I have been rude or ignorant...but please excuse my selfishness if I could ask your name before you run off again..." I perked my ears, hearing no reply. My heart pounding, I walked nearer to the large stones, keeping myself quiet this time. The dirt beneath me sank, the loose pebbles giving way to my bodies weight. Another step.
"Miss..." Then another. I paused, listening for one last time. It seemed my company was unwanted, so in which I turned with a deep bow, and ran.
.....:I'm not sure how far I ran mother, but surely I crossed nearly the entire forest in my sprint. And soon, I came upon a tree, in which I crashed my antlers into....hard. The tree screeched, the wood snapping beneath my head. I slammed my antlers against it once again, the tree screaming in agony, the bark chipping and releasing its armor-like cover from the fragile tree beneath. I bellowed, before slamming my head into it one last time, the tree giving way and leaning to one side, swaying ever-so-slightly. Crash....it toppled, the brush beneath dissapearing beneath it. A loud snap was heard, before the birch forest grew silent to it's fallen brother once again.
......:And then luna....mi luna....I lowered my head, placing it on the stump which now was before me. I layed down, my body weight resting on my forehead as I sat there, silent. A fool! A FOOL. What am I, sociallizing with others...disobeying your vigorous laws! An idiot! Nothing but a childish fawn who thinks nothing of others. Mother...where have my manners gone?
.....:Hoofbeats...I heard them again, this time coming from the much darker part of the forest. Slowly, I rose my body, shaking off the twigs which still lay rested in my antlers. With distress looming in my body, I began to walk towards the sound, slowly wandering to its source. It was the doe again, I noticed, which lay in a patch of purple flowers. I paused my movements, afraid to grow near. She probably heard me...and she showed the notice instantly, by standing up to face me. I lowered my head as I bowed, ashamed that I followed her when she clearly didn't want company. She looked saddened, I noticed. Silently, I asked her to come closer, and she did so reluctantly. And finally, when she grew within speaking distance, I uttered a few words.
"I am a fool, miss, you must understand. My manners have been poor...as of late..." I paused, noticing her tearing expression. My heart sank, luna, it truly did. I moved closer, trying to tell her not to be in such dissarray.
"Miss...it seems I've offended you..." Her expression worsened, and with it, I shook my head. And, after pausing, I nuzzled the doe, in attempts to cheer her mood with a social action.
"I apologize....for what I may have done to put you in such distress...." With those words, I nuzzled the dark pelted doe again.
"But please...could you please tell me your name?" I paused, begging.
"Please....your name....miss...."
.....:I stepped back, asking her to follow me, to a nearby beam of light jutting through the forest canopy. She was reluctant, but in the end, followed my silver body. I turned to face her as she approached, my head tilted. "Poltergeist." She finally admitted, and my eyes almost lit up.
"Miss Poltergeist." I echoed, as the wind picked up and shook the branches of the trees around me.
Oh Wudiin....won't you come see your mother? My body froze...for mother...your voice is always so sudden and frightening as well. I nuzzled the doe, bowing, before falling into the ray of sunlight, back to you, mi luna.
But what do you want from me...?
