ACTIVITY NOTICE: My muse for this game has been lacking for a long while. I visit TEFC here and
there, but do not play the game much if at all anymore. I'm doing great if you
all are wondering, I have just found other things that take up my time. Add me
on steam if you want to see me around more! I am @marissablondie but my profile
may show up as mars or dinamoozers : ) If you want to reach me privately, feel
free to send me a quick email at dinamotef @ gmail.com as I check it often.
Also, as this has happened a few times, please kindly do not ask for any of
my pictograms. If you have followed my updates over the long period of time,
I do plan on returning and playing this game more often as the Unreal Engine
update is released. Right now, I am just right smack in the middle of my college
courses and do not have the time. Thank you so much for understanding! : )
Player Updates
October 1, 2021
idk what happened but hi i'm here hello
Main Characters
Characters with linked biographies have updates listed there:
Dinamooo! Helloo! Nice to see you around. And nice to see you're enjoying your animation course. I'd say 3D animator is a really good direction, I pretty much regret not going there myself because the game industry is ever growing. Paper animation is fun! It's defo a bit trickier than doing it digitally where you can very easily overlay your layers, paper is always a bit more fiddly, but it's also just really fun to have stuff in your hands. I did some animations with cut out, where two figures walked, and I had a cut-out background that had to move behind them so I used a glass plane to keep them seperate.
The smoke you did is really good! Very recogniseable, really feels as smoke. I'd try to let the walking animation loop a few times on youtube since now the video just stops after playing once, and you never get the right feeling for the walk. Fun subject for a walking animation though.
mis its so good to hear from you! haha i hope you've been doing well : ) honestly part of the reason why i chose 3D animation was because of my history with video games! i knew it would always be progressing so i thought it would be a nice stable job. i agree with you, paper is so much more finicky than a computer program. but that's kind of how most art is in my opinion, computers make the process much more smooth. that's a super smart idea about the glass though! yeah i have a heck of a time trying to keep all of my different layers separate and in order omg. thank you so much! if i would have spent more time on the smoke it would have been even better, but the 15 units this semester really constrained me with how much time i could put into my art assignments. next semester i'm only going to be taking 9 units, so i'll have a lot more time to put into my art, yay! and thank you again too! actually though, if you right click on the video i linked, you can select it to loop. that's what i've done whenever i turned something in. but i could do that too! i'm not sure if i want to ever like create a youtube account of my art and animations for reference in the future, so right now everything is just on my google drive.
hello, hello senor!! i'm so happy to see you! i hope you've been doing fantastically! whats up with you?? and seriously though, long time no see, ahh. thank you! but compared to some of my classmate's that spent more time on theirs, it's not as good (i only got a B on it), but i'm still pretty happy its that recognizable for one day's worth of work! it's been fun but honestly i'm kind of glad next semester i'll get a break from paper animating. my wrists are so tired from flipping pages to make sure everything transitions smoothly haha
Lord, after like 4 folks I know having unplanned babies this year, my brain went "LORD HAVE MERCY DIN IS HAVING A BABY" as soon as I saw that you'd updated and there were comments lmao
Glad you're enjoying yourself! God, you're young. Saying that makes me sound old but one of my co-workers just a few years older than you this week said that 30 is "old" and i felt like crying, laughing, and slowly strangling the life out of him at the same time.
Good luck with finals! You're so close!! I super believe in you!
fish!! hahahaha nooo not yet at least!! thank you so much! i know haha i'm the youngest in my group of friends. my boyfriend is three years older than me so he jokes about it a lot too. but omg no 30 is NOT OLD. honestly in my eyes 40s are around when i start seeing someone as older, but for me old is like mid 60s plus!! if anyone said that to me i would have had the same reaction! and thank you so much! i really appreciate it. i'm currently grinding my butt off to finish this 30-ish second animation (it will probably only be around 25 cuz its due tomorrow morning and i'm not even close to 30 seconds oops), then i just have to study for a written test and i'm free! i'm sooooo close. i'm starting my new TA job over winter break too so i'm glad that i'll start working again soon.
and kimi! i'm so happy to see you too. ♥ thank you so, so much! a lot of hard work, but i really enjoy it so i'm finding out (happily so) that i'm making the right career choice! i hope life has been treating you extra well. have safe and happy holidays!
I've been pretty swell! Got my own place, got a cat, stable job. I'd love more free time to one day slip into self-employment but, right now that's a future goal. And yeah! What I've learned so far is that 3D animators are still pretty wanted. Riggers too and that sort of stuff. I was never bad at it either so perhaps time to re-learn, but technology goes forward real quick when you're not currently in the branch. Eh!
Nah yeah like, you have to limit yourself in how long you spend on something too or it becomes unending. Perfect is great, done is better. Especially with the game industry you'll have some fierce deadlines so I've understood :")
I just found the loop function, it.. Translated stupid in dutch HAHA but I still feel like there's a slight hampering where it loops! But it looks good. You've kept all the bits in the same proportion which is really hard to do. In traditional animation especially you'll notice that heads start growing and feet as well rofl. So really nice job!
hello hello echo!! i'm so happy to see you too. thank you! haha i think i'll sadly get a B and not an A in the class, but honestly i'm leaving feeling like i learned LOADS and understand it all, so that's what matters!
that's awesome, mis! tell me why the thing i wanted to ask about most was your cat, haha. that's a great goal to have! it's definitely never too late for anything, but you're right, this industry just advances at a break neck pace. i hear you though! i'm usually pretty good at knowing when it needs more and when just to be done. so the 30 second one i just posted i did mainly all in one day (oops) yesterday. nearly 360 drawings, phew! and i'm so happy with how it turned out! i know like i need to space the way he falls better and i could just add more to the end in general, but i finished it and i'm really proud so i stopped while i was ahead! that's so funny omg. i'm glad it worked though! but yeah it does give just a little hiccup at the end, but it's a good starting point to offload all of my work somewhere. haha thank you! so i actually traced the first drawing of that walk and moved it to trace over how i needed to for the other drawings. i drew his head and pyramid thingie very last. i've gotten in a habit of perfecting one repeating thing and then tracing it so it's easier for me! idk if that's cheating or not but it saved me so much time. that's what i did for any part where the flour sack walks in my 30 second one. thank you so much! if i learned anything from this course it's to maintain volumes and make things flow smoothly! i need to work more on pushing expressions and gestures though, but that's to work on in the future!
once again i'm crawling out of my hermit nook to say hello and to please save me from this neverending nightmare that is upper division acrylic painting at my college
appreciate these updates for as long as you feel like making them ♥
glad to hear about the good things going on. best of luck with the rest of your college course!
