great!! i've got an experimental chara, the first i've had since i've been semi-back(i've been away from tef for a really long time because i've been really busy). this is really all that's around of her. her name's soleil. i'm thinking she'd be less motherly as an adolescent and more friendly, though. tends to be pretty gentle and mellow, but has an inner source of energy. she's pretty playful, too, and eager to please.
would you like to start, or shall i? (if i do it may have to wait until morning because i really need some sleep)
teeny text is teeny. sounds gooood, I'll give a little post now and you can get to it whenever you can. i'm still gettin' used to her so this should be fun.
-------------------------------------------
A deep obnoxious grunt spat from the blue birds jaw. Her eyes fixed on nothing in particular as she moved through the woods without any words. She was near the pond, walking towards a lone willow. After her earlier encounter, her first in the forest, she was tired socially, though this never stopped her. She was rather excited, still, just being in a place with so many new and unique things was fun. Though most of the men, as expected at this time of year, were rutting. This was annoying, yet amusing, watching them stomp around like manly stags when they were all pathetic little germs. Some were nice, true, but so far she hadn't seen many of the fairer sex. Girls were much more appreciated company. Though they all seemed to have a male counterpart or kids, just as bad.
A little bit away, a lithe form leans against a willow, oblivious to the world. Feathered ruff fluffed to its full extent, Soleil soaks up the dappled light filtering through the leaf canopy above. The branches are more like limbs than branches, really, swaying gently now and again in the breeze. She closes her eyes contentedly, chin gravitating upward slightly as she shifts her face into a patch of sunlight. An irritated huff breaks into her thoughts as her eyes open instinctively, and with curious eyes and cocked head, she turns towards its source. Not saying anything quite yet, she pauses to look on, wondering when this unfamiliar presence will notice the golden-furred doe sitting quietly, soaking up the sunlight. She needed the sunlight in ways that she couldn't explain—as though it was a source of nourishment. Not like the teenager gave it too much thought. She wondered if she should introduce herself, but settled instead for a simple "hello", blinking in a friendly manner at the other doe as she lowered her ruff, smoothing it down against her neck in an effort to seem a little smaller. Not like she needed to, honestly. She was small enough as it was.
Almost completely enveloped in her surroundings, the small and golden deer's presences was noted but not fully realized. After getting to the tree and hearing a faint 'hello'. She turned, and finally acknowledged her existence, walking closer to give a half assed bow. She nodded and opened her delicate jaw, " Hello to you too, " she said, her voice very casual, while slurring the last word. She rolled her shoulders, a very bland expression of boredom played on her face as she did. Standing next to a stranger quietly was always slightly awkward so she thought small talk may lighten the mood. She turned and looked down, "So.. ruts coming up quite soon, pretty exciting." She never said, or thought she was good at it, but heck she would try.
"My name is Soleil," she said, a little confused by the stranger. Or intrigued. Both words could and would suffice. She stood up, feeling like if she were to continue in her semi-upright position it would be rude. She returned the bow graciously, noting that perhaps it is a custom she should want to take up. Soleil hadn't really realized it was a custom here, having spent her limited time in the forest by herself, she hadn't picked up on anything like that yet. Her head was tilted slightly to the side as an innocently questioning look came across her expression. "The rut? I'm not completely familiar...Could you explain it to me, miss?" Where she had come from previous to the forest hadn't had anything called a rut—perhaps they had something that was similar but known under a different name?
-------
Staring down, and listening to the female give out a few pieces of unless information like her name, which she didn't as for. She caved, knowing now she'd be here awhile with all this personal talk. She folded her hide legs underneath her and sat in an awkward yet oddly comfortable fashion where she was previously standing. She waited for her to completely finish asking the questions and such before trying to interject. Well now she had to give out a name, "Well you call me Missy if you so desire." Tilting her head to the side, rather unamused red eyes looking Soleil up and down, she gently parted her lips to finally explain what she knew, " Oh, the rut is a cervine breeding thing you see... it's when all the big guys and girls herd pretty girls or boys to mate, or just for the hell of it. Then there are the younger folks who try to steal the herds from the big guys also to breed or fun. It's all very amusing. The boys get all crazy, and aggressive, and sexual, so it's very easy to tease them..." she had realized she was rambling and let her smooth voice fade out into a brief chuckle while directing her gaze to Soliels eyes.
It wasn't as though Soleil was oblivious to the seeming disinterest in the other doe's expression. Brow furrowing slightly as she folded her legs underneath her and joined Missy—at a respectable distance, of course, because she got the sense that if she got too close she might be attacked. However, it confused her that the doe continued to converse with her even though it seemed as though Missy disliked her already. "Missy," she repeated after her, getting a feel for the name on her tongue. She found it a bit funny that her name was similar to the honorific Soleil had deemed natural. She tended to revert back to calling others "miss", or "sir", when she either didn't know their name, or felt a need to be polite. In this situation, it had been both. Looking on with intrigue, she listened to the doe's words with curiosity in her gaze. "Ah." A pause. "Is it really...?" She tried to picture it—the teasing, mostly, and seemed to only get more confused. "How would one go about teasing one of them?" A smile came into her very human eyes, as she tilted her head to shift a strand of hair that was blocking a sliver of her vision. It was an honest question, posed curiously as her eyes shifted to gauge Missy's reaction. It felt as though this conversation balanced upon a cliff, and she didn't want to push it over the edge. Soleil was enjoying it, but she could tell that Missy didn't seem to. So, she would be careful, and not push social boundaries if she could help it.
i added some more little rut info and a little disclaimer
the pretty thing welcomes you, aha.
and yesss, it's very fun.
---
She nodded and gave her a boring stare when she heard her name spoken. Although Missy was not her actual, true name she went by is as it was really a name where there was no possible way to guess her real name. She liked her real name of course, just only gave it out to those whom she trusted and befriended, not like this little thing was any threat, she would eventuality tell her this. It was truly interesting that she knew absolutely nothing about the rut, or rutting in general. she was missing out on such a fun time. Belail huffed when she asked how to tease boys, what kind of a question is that. Teasing is in the nature of any powerful, beautiful and intelligent female. The fairer sex always had little hidden abilities to manipulate and get the males all hot and bothered. She let a lengthy, and dramatic sigh escape her mouth. "Oh my, you don't get out much do you, dear?" she began with, jerking her head up to swoop her messy bangs to the right of her rounded face, a small smirk crossing her parted lips "Teasing a boy is as simple as getting him riled up, and ready to breed. Just kind of playing with them so they think you're interested in doing the deed but just as they're about to hop on, you leave or charge. See when this happens, the little spark of lust in their eye gets clouded with confusion and anger leaving them immobile as you happily trot away... Of course sometimes you can't help yourself so you let them anyway, but just as they're done you do the same, perhaps charge at them and leave. It's a win for you, and a lose for them. " This was her most favorite topic so rambling was a must, along with a very alluring tone, slurring and trying to sound as sensual as possible to get her point across. At this point she had become much more comfortable with the girl, hoping that she'd share her ideals or either get very disgusted. Either would be amusing.
"Is it that obvious?" A grin broke out across the doe's face at the sigh. The drama of the reaction to her words was found quite amusing, and she rested her head on the ground, shifting a bit to the side so she could listen more intently. Right as the words registered in her head, she blushed voraciously, and tucked her head underneath one of her legs to hide her flaming cheeks. But she was also grinning, as she realized that the idea of teasing boys sounded like quite a bit of fun. Raising her head up again, Soleil was struck by a wild bout of playfulness. Flipping onto her back, looking over at the other doe, she pawed the air a little with one of her front hoofs and said, "You should teach me. Double the pretty ladies equals double the trouble for the boys, right?"
----
soleil: teach me senpaiiiii
I feel like maybe I should derp doodle that because why not.
(i suppose i don't mind. :3 soleil may be a bit distant for all of five seconds though, just to warn you. but a new friend is very welcome, heh. maybe could we wait to hear from hadou(and perhaps let belail give her answer to soleil's question?) if that's alright with you~)
She giggled as the other admitted to her flaws. What was even more entertaining was watching the expression and obvious embarrassment the Soleil had as she explained 'teasing' boys and the rut. Why was she even embarrassed? Was it because she was talking to plainly about mating and how to disappoint males who wanted it ever so badly. Who knew. Why would that even make someone nervous? Even more surprising was how Soleil rolled around on the floor like a fawn. She scowled at her behavior, and even snorted at her response. "Share? Me?... Honey you don't know me well at all. I'm selfish, when I find a boy to tease and displease, he is mine for however long I have him," she purred, her voice almost sounding too sweet". She continued to snicker and gawk at the one on the ground, like she had broken some kind of untold rule. She really wasn't at all upset, just interested on the drastic change of attitude towards her speech. At first she was nervous but then she was all for it, was she messing with me, or what?
Eyelids peeled appart to reveal glossy red eyes and the strange new comer opened it's jaws letting a rush of air slip out in a lazy half-yawn. Still feeling very relaxed in it's newfound 'territory' it scanned over it with interest. There were no signs of life appart from the birds it had let perch upon it's red antlers. It's strong legs pushed down on the smooth rock and propelled it's body upright despite gravity's efforts to keep it grounded. A stretch and another yawn later and the ebony pelted beast was on the move.
Not only could it smell the purity in the forest air but it also left a slight taste of pine lingering in it's mouth. The sweet scent of water and moss bringing forth the thirst it had previously been surpressing. Slender ears flopped against its neck with a snapping sound as it's head shook to free itself of the groggy feeling before setting forth towards what it assumed would be the same pond from which it's portal had opened.
The forest was calm and quiet. Barely any wind to speak of or any sounds besides the occasional snapping of an old branch and the singing of small birds here and there. The sun set high upon the sky flooded the less dense parts of the forest with its gentle golden rays. Adrasteia emerged from the woods, eyelids drooping and muscles relaxed. It's nostrils occasionally flared while it's head bobbed gently up and down with each step. Once in a while it would find itself in need of swatting an anoying insect away with it's ears but for the most part the deer was unaware of anything going on around it. Even after reaching the water's edge it ignored the two females sitting close by as it brought it's muzzle close to the clear liquid.
It rushed into it's mouth with a low slurping sound and coated the inside of it's cheeks with refreshment before making it's ways down the animal's throat. Feeling satisfied the deer turned to make the trek back to it's resting place of choosing.
"You're right, I don't." The smile faded, but her expression stayed friendly and open. Wow, this girl was confusing her. At first she seemed like she was at least being semi-playful, but now there was that sickly sweet tone that confused Soleil as she tried to decipher what was going on. It appeared as though she were being laughed at. A slight, barely even noticeable blush tinged her cheeks as she rolled back over. She shouldn't be embarrassed...she was only being playful and friendly. At least, that's what she told herself despite knowing that this little embarrassment would stick with her for a long time. Some other being approaching quite near to the two does startled Soleil out of her perplexed gazing at Missy. Sol scooted back an inch or two, unsure of this newcomer. She saw antlers and tallness and watched as they got a drink from the pond while ignoring Soleil and Missy's presence, blinking curiously.
thank you guys c: and late reply because homework /whines
-------
Giving a smug look, she nodded as Sol affirmed this. She seemed to have confused her little friend, as she watched her expression slowly change. She didn't look offended or upset, just not as happy. And of course she blushed again. Belail rolled her scarlet red eyes, opening her jaw for a loud yawn. She was about to open her mouth to say something regarding the others change of demeanor, but Sols surprised and interested gaze to the pond distracted her. She cocked her head, eyes studying the one who seemingly ignored them as they sipped clear water from the pond. She huffed, assuming the being was male, it looked rather masculine anyway. She glanced back at Missy, clicking her tongue as she gently picked herself up and took a few steps into the water across of the red antlered deer.
"Thirsty are we ?" she asked in a rather hushed, and gentle tone. Perhaps she could demonstrate her little speech on males to Soleil with the use of this thing.
An unfamiliar voice brought Adrasteia back to reality. With only a few effortless steps the deer had turned its body to face the strange looking female; the delicate features of her face and long hair gave away the gender easily enough. Although her fur and tail were unusual Adrasteia showed no outward expression of surprise.
"Yes."
It's red hooves were firmly planted in the muddy terrain, ears pointed towards the stranger before it. The deer's eyes maintaining eye contact without being overly intense. Those eyes were soft and very ancient, deep red pools in which anyone could easily get lost if they weren't careful. It's left ear flicked away another annoying insect, nostrils flaring.
As Missy got up and left her there, she simply looked on in silence. Soleil supposed that this was supposed to be an example for her, which only really confused the doe more. The almost but not quite mocking way that Missy had reacted when Sol had asked to be taught came back to her, and she compared it with the meaningful glance tossed back at her by the bluebird doe. It was as though she was being told to pay attention to what would transpire, and so she did. Soleil made sure to stay back, being able to picture the surely disastrous outcome that would soon become a reality if she interrupted Missy's 'teasing' by calling attention to her presence. She curled her tail around silently, and the tip twitched from side to side as she watched on, still intrigued even after having been laughed at.
After approaching the newcomer and attempting to start a conversation her hopes were dropped. The second the other opened their mouth and spoke revealed nothing, unfortunately so she had to take it a step farther. Trying to not look to obvious, she averted her gaze to underneath the stranger, in the all important quest to finalize its gender. Much to her surprise, she didn't see anything worth noting about, which meant either this was poorly endowed male or just a female. Pouting and huffing out a small sigh, she rolled her shoulders back and gave a pouty glance to Sol. Looking back at the red antlered doe she shrugged, "Oh no, I don't need anything, just supposed I'd say hello, since you were here and I was there," she explained, voicing her disappointment bluntly with her voice but not her words. She picked up her front legs one at a time, shaking the water from them as she put them back in the clear water, watching the ripples waiting for either the stranger or Sol to voice something as well.
just popping in to say i'm really glad we got to meet her ;u; would love to get to know her, too.

uvu thank you both!!
was nice to meet both of y'all, hopefully they'll see more of eachother. Bel thinks Canary is a hottie so she'll find her again, baha.
Amaranthine had found herself wandering the forest once more- she had a habit of doing so when lost in thought or perhaps avoiding socializing. The rut meant socializing and so she was basically doing anything she could to escape the hormonal stags. So far, so good. Thin hooves left their mark in the sodden earth behind her as she walked her way to the pond, amethyst marks dull and not as lively as they usually are. They were for show, anyway. The doe's spines, however, would never stop giving off the purple glow they did, simply because of the toxins that shot up and down their homes.
With a grunt, the lady plopped down beneath one of the trees that shaded the water, and decided that maybe she'd nap. Maybe. Her head had almost fallen when a snap of something caused her to jump, knocking her head- and tines- against the branch above her. "Oh, fuck! God fu-" Amaranthine rubbed her sore head against the bark of the tree before suddenly realizing that something might be watching her- someone, maybe, and the paranoid female tensed up, eyes almost comically wide. "Who's there? Who the fuck's there?"
Adrasteia's eyes followed the other doe's movements, although the stranger was trying to be insconpicuous it was obvious from her line of sight that she was looking to identify a gender. She rolled her shoulders and her fur puffed out and rolled back in a wave from her snout down to her tail, with the movement came physical changes; head became broader, brow more pronounced and a more stern look adorned it's face. The muscles of its already well build body grew somewhat in size as did the hooves on which it stood. The more obvious change was of course its genitals; from those of a female to those of a male. Adrasteia gave a pleased itself a pleased look and shook its new body as if showing it off.
"Better?" It spoke in the same androgynous voice, one eyebrow raised and the right corner of his mouth pulled into a half smile.
"What does your tribe call themselves?"Tribe was the only adequate word it could find as calling them people would obviously not work in this case. The stranger mixture of animal and human features, although not completely alien to him, were something he hadn't seen in this particular combination. The body of a deer with the face of man. It curiously ran its gaze from the female's delicate face to her strange tail and back. Although he had taken notice of the other more reserved doe in the back he chose to allowe her to approach rather than force any interactions but did give her an aknowledging nod.
Soleil laughed briefly, but quickly started coughing instead to assuage at least a portion of her embarrassment. She just couldn't help but find the obvious change in Missy's voice to be funny to her—not that Sol could even properly explain to herself why that was. Plus, the glance that they shared made her feel like a conspirator, and she liked feeling included. It wasn't as though she had any ill will to this new deer, it was just that she couldn't help but find Missy's reaction to be quite humorous. She didn't expect what came next, but she managed—barely—to keep her confusion out of her expression. Seeing the nod, she returned it, acknowledging that she had seen the gesture. Tentatively, she rose and moved a few paces closer, close enough to be able to speak and be heard, but still at a distance in case either of the pair wished for Soleil to leave. She couldn't help but feel like she would be intruding upon the conversation if she were to join it robustly, so she stayed where she was when she said, "Hello," and followed it up with a polite, "My name is Soleil."
Adrasteia's ear swivelled towards the sound of Soleil's voice. Just as expected he had been once again engaged by an inhabitant of his temporary home.
Hello. I go by many names but for now, Adrasteia is a good enough title. Are you a child of this forest?"
Gentle eyes scanned over Soleil's feminin form before settling once again on her face. Although her anatomy matched that of a deer the somewhat timid looking doe had avian accents; plumage to be more precise. The creators of this forest had a strange tendency to mix and match. Adrasteia preferred consistency but could still appreciate the graceful look of the delicate feathers.
