September 28, 2008 - 12:38am — Hikikomori
Ummmmm...No pictures yet. And this is just a very basic description on who they is.
Fullname: Henna Hitori Hikikomori (Strange, lone social-hermit)
Nicknames: None as of yet.
Gender: feMALE man (Unknown though often referred to as a she)
Distinguishing features: large, disfigured antlers, rumored to have a horribly disfigured face hidden behind a mask and has a wolf-gray pelt. Is also grossly nearsighted so it is often seen crashing into trees and sometimes donning the trademark hikikomori glasses. As a young, normal-looking fawn - it used to like wearing flowers in its small antlers.
Hikikomori was a deer that became ostracized from its original herd as it grew to become disfigured and scary looking. As a result, it is a very shy, cautious and untrusting deer. It must be approached with caution otherwise it will flee.
However, despite its scary appearance and air of untrust, it is actually quite the opposite if you get to know it well enough.
Friends: None yet.
HOW'S THIS?!

Do you feel it? That which is born in the depths of the ruins comes for you, awaiting your demise. ‘Come to the graves’ it calls, cackling as you listen and come without second question. Little deer, do you not understand what lies waiting beside the ruins? Do you not see he who sits alone? Beware, beware…It is a deer with a heart that cannot even be lit by the gods. Often there are glimmers of hope, but those are nothing more than a silly façade for his prey.
There is no joy in his leaps, there is no sincerity in his bows, there is no meaning behind his existence. Yet here he stays as he was created, always staring off into the empty abyss around him. Like a shadow he is seen, nothing more than a whisp of memory to a few.
Haunting eyes lurk at the edges of groups, longing and never wanting to join in. That is where they can catch him, that is where he is most vulnerable.
For but a few moments he catches glimpses of the world, only to fade back into darkness. That is all what embraces him, all that welcomes him. Yet in the darkness, there is only he…

The blood from my artery seeps into every fiber of my despised being. Solely did the twitter bird, frozen in time, not wise enough to notice me...stay in my wake.
Fate hath dealt a cruel hand, I know this myself, and so do my brethren. And only does the cure lie within the hands of the Gods, who do not care for my fate, or the fate of my others.
And as I see every foul trick here, laid before my eyes in a crumpled heap of lies and fake scents, I growl.
I hesitate.
This forest has never wanted me.
I am cursed to desire something that I might never have.
---
Feel free to speak with me, here in the false forest of pure blackness daydreams solely. Even a pyre grows lone.

(i had another dream about entering the forest last night :/ i just want to freaking play.)

Happy to be here, I think I'm going to visit regular.
I also like the 'art event' twist to the whole gamut. Looking at Tales' other projects I'm going to keep an eye on.
groovy

I'm falling asleep in my chair, after a 21 hour bustrip XD Rome is amazing, really, so much to see! It was a little bit too much though, I was glad when I was able to sit down and draw what I saw. I'm haappyyy to sleep in my own bed tonight XD My best friend (Akio on here) is coming over, so we'll go to an anime convention tomorrow (Abunai!) So I'll go online tomorrow when I got time <3
I didn't get a chance to draw any deer XD I finished a book on the bustrip, and got too tired to draw (and mostly, it was too dark XD) So I hope to make sum stuff for people later on!
Sooo I'm BACKK XD Haiiii!! Did I miss anything important?

Thank you to everyone who came! I'm sorry that I couldn't have it on better times, though. Class and lab work, and all that.
I hope you had a good time, though!

As you have likely heard, server tests went on for about a week.
BUT, unfortunately, Michael didn't mention on the front page or anywhere where people would really notice that...you needed to post how the forest was for you during certain times. He posted a topicabout it in the Problems & Bugs section, but nowhere else.
If ANYONE remembers TEF improving or degrading a bit on SPECIFIC days for the past week, during the time in which the tests were taking place, PLEASE POST THEM HERE!!!
For example:
August 22nd - Played in the morning; connected and got the pictograms to fast in a snap. Frames per second was greater than it has ever been for me, even when no one else was on.
THAT WAS JUST AN EXAMPLE;; just making sure you don't think that was a true statement, because I can't be sure.
---
The server tests took place randomly, and no one was told when the back-up server was or wasn't up. But I know a trick - if during the time you played, the Live Map here on the site wasn't working, the back-up server was likely up.
PLEASE help by providing some information!!! I shall give you gigantic sugary pinecones of superness if you do :DDD
Otherwise...the back-up server won't be tested again. Because no one posted about any changes, because no one really knew about the topic to even know to post anything.
---
I wish I'd thought of this topic before the tests were done and over with; I'm just really hoping that some people here might remember anything to prove to Michael that JUST MAYBE, there WAS a big change.
Thank you if you can help at all ^^;
---
EDIT:
If you cannot recall any specific dates, could you try and describe any differences you experienced during the week, along with a comparison with your usual gameplay? Make sure that it's not just related to the amount of people playing...

Okay, guys, here's the game plan. It's not set in stone, but I'd like to give it a shot.
I'm pretty sure most of you have heard of NaNoWriMo, coming up in November. If not, google it. It's the National Writer's Month competition. It's not really a competition, but that's what I'll relate it to. Write whatever you want to reach your word count, basically. Well, anyways, I'm going to enter (obviously lawl). I've got a setting, characters, and most of a plot, and I'm going to take a shot at a novel. C:
Can't tell you much right now, but think pirates. After I finish, which'll be around December (depending if the manuscript exceeds my word count or not) I'll do what I can to get it in print! I know it's a jump, but I've been wanting to do this for a long time. And I think NNRM will give me the motivation I need. C| So, what I'm asking of y'all, is are there any tips you have for me to help me git 'er done? Any publishers you'd recommend I could try? (Ghostcougcoughlol.)
Oh, and my friend who doesn't play TEF is also gonna give it a shot, so I'll try to keep you updated on that one too. c: I'm exciteeeed. -twiddles thumbs and waits for November-
