There lives a deer in the forest that is totally blind; no sight, no light, no darkness nor other. Their life is full of sounds and wonder, but Refrapo the deer is weak, and cannot move much. He prefers to stay by the Pond.

Once there at the Pond, he would sit still for hours at a time, days and days, just listening to the stream, unmoving, wrinkle with the Pond. It was never-changing, and ever-boring to some...he had no friends. For what fool, whatever so, would like to sit with Refrapo, listening, blind? Refrapo didn't notice; to him, there was nothing else in this world like him.

And so it came that one day, a frog hopped upon the silty dirt of the Pond where Refrapo sat. He croaked, loud and sonorous, like a beast thrice his stature and powerful with size. In the memories sent to him from his mother by birth, he knew to be scared; but knew not of why, nor how to be scared. His fur stood up; the frog lied still.

Refrapo was unsure if the scare had left, wasn't sure if it was near or far, or what near or far really were. He let his neck stretch, his head on the soil. He sighed through his unknown mask, and the frog hopped; it made a splash in the water.

The sound make Refrapo recall his thirst, and he moved his head to drink the unmoving water...only to feel it moving to his lips.

Sound has motion? he thought, aware of movement and of sound, but not certain that a sound could move long after passing. The ripples touched his befuddled lips as they frog swam away, transforming into a fawn a little ways away and leaping out of the water in a flurry.

Refrapo hummed and felt the water stir to his voice. His singing grew louder and louder, until the whole forest heard his spectacle of vocals. They all gathered round him...and watched the pond stir in harmony to his voice. It twinkled and glittered, the waves thinning and parting as his voice fell and rose, up and down. And then his eyes, for the first time opened...

Yeah, thought I might as well make this official, though it's been going on for some time. I'm going to put this matter-of-factly as I can.

I do not like the community site. I never, ever did. I only came here because so many of my friends left the Forums permanently, for some reason, in favour of this place.

I always thought making a blog-like site for TEF was a baaaaaad idea, because it encourages community-first rather than Forest-first, and therefore attracts the wrong crowd. It also makes the community, which up to now had been so precious, small and gem-like, so much easier to find and join. Before, you had to look for the community, because you wanted to, rather than because you felt the community is part of what the Forest is about.

The Community is not what the Forest is about. The Forest comes FIRST.

I personally believe that my misgivings about this place have been proven correct, and tenfold. The friends that I used to have have been lost in a hailstorm of 'droppers-by'. The Endless Forest has been advertised in places that encourage a different type of person, and (in my personal opinion), has become popular with the wrong crowd for the wrong reasons. My fail-safe rule, that an artistic, heavenly, peaceful world like The Forest will always attract the same type of person, is no longer fail-safe. It has been shattered, over and over. It is my personal opinion that the beautiful, beautiful world is lost and can never, ever be found again.

Look at this place. It's a bloody mess. Have you not noticed?

"That is a book Nim," ShadowX said as he layed his head down, his long mask made it hard to sleep. "Wake up, wake up, wake up!," Nim said as he dropped the book in front of Xhunter. Her zombie antlers came up as her nose flared, giving a look to Nim she looked at the book. "That is a photo albom of the forest, Nim," she said as she watched Nim try and head-but ShadowX's sleeping body. "Wake up and read it with us!," He said as he reared and threw his cafs, making shore his hooves did not get ShadowX in his side. ShadowX blinked a eye and turned it to watch Nim, "It is early morning, Nim, go to sleep i will need my sleep to teach you later." "Wake up, please this once and read with us," Nim said as he threw his last head-but and cafs at him.
