This was planned between raz and I, Ren (c) Raz Thank you vandettta for the image and for helping me code this, I'm so useless xD
He can feel it, breath hot on the back of his legs, up his haunches. Jaws parting in a cry for help.
Other deer scatter.
His mended leg hurts.
Teeth nip at his backside, he squeals, racing forward at breakneck pace.
The problem is.
Ren is faster.
Ren has longer legs, and more powerful muscles, the panting of a dog, too close, a tongue rubs roughly over his hind leg, and he kicks out uselessly, takes a sharp turn, darts to the underbrush.
"JERGENS!" he shouts, useless cries to the heavens.
A tooth scores his rump, sends blood spilling down his leg.
it burns more than it should, venomous bite.
He can't bring himself to limp, faster, faster, faster
useless...
paws pin him down by the shoulders, claws gouging into his skin.
Teeth come down again, sink in between his ribs to the gum.
He squeals like a stuck pig, lashing back with his antlers.
There is a yelp as thorns score across the werewolf's nose.
He darts off again.
He gets away.
Easily.
So he thinks.
He is bleeding harshly, but even now his wounds close themselves.
He feels so strange.
His head spins
He finds himself upon the mossy ground as pain contracts through his body, he doesn't like this, the way his spine pushes at his tail, forces it longer, gums bleeding as teeth grow and sharpen, hooves splitting, hard hoof into paws, bones contorting under skin.
The pain ebbs.
And he whimpers
For he has become what he had hated most.
Follow the scent, that's what
Follow the scent, that's what he would have done. Just follow and find him.
Especially when the smell of dog was wafting from around him, Ren? Maybe. Maybe this time the red stag could finally, pardon the french, beat the shit out of his werewolf head, even if Ren was the one thing in the forest that terrified him the most.
Even more than the stag who had taken his eye and ear.
Because Ren was in the end, just a dog.
And Jergens loathed and feared all forms of canine living beings.
Still, Rosine was more important that ebbing, primal fear of his.
He walked at a fast trot, bones and wounds healed by Kahlan just the previous night, keeping his well, 'eye' peeled. Now that he finally had a chance to really move around, the stag finally got to know how handicapped he had become. A deer could approach him from his left side and he wouldn't even notice. Which was why he didn't run now, paranoia forcing him to turn his head every so often to check and see if the werewolf was sneeking up on his blind and deaf spot.
Though nothing came.
The musk of canine grew strong though, mixed with the perfume of roses. It was odd... smelling two completely different scents at the same time... One feared and one he had fallen in love with.
He kept walking, finally coming to a halt when he saw a larger blue deer from behind, antlers like Rose's... but... different... not right... something wrong... long tail... throny antlers...
(oohlookjergenslookseeseewhatitoldyou)
The triumphant, haughty voice rang in his head, loud enough for him to audibly groan in mental discomfort, weight collapsing as he pressed his head to the ground, cooling it against damp moss.
(thisisiswhathappenswhenyoureunfaithfulthisiswhathappenshappens)
'Unfaithful' to Faith, he meant... even if it wasn't true.
He simply lay there, the skin underneath his curled fur breaking out in gooseflesh.
What he loved was what he feared.
But what he feared was what he loved...
The little blue stag who wasn't so little anymore would have to be the one to help him realize that.
And besides...
A teeny bit of desensitization wouldn't hurt anybody...
Would it?
((lawl... had to respond via rp to show how much I didn't see this coming xD I'm looking forward to this though... aha~))
((XD ahaha, indeed)) A
A groan, a flicking of a long tail and shortened ears, his ribs still hurt a bit.
"Jergens?" his voice remained unchanged, gazing groggily upwards through eyes the colour of glowing ice being turned upon the red stag.
His tail whipped between his legs, cowering, whimpering.
"Jergens, he, he bit me, Ren, he bit me" he whimpered, looking up again.
"Jergens, I'm sorry Jergens" he mumbled, as if it had been his own fault that the beast had caught him.
"Jergens, it's still me, I just, look a bit different...ouch, my teeth hur" he grumbled, stomach rumbling then.
Food sounded really good.
Get the hell out of here Need
Get the hell out of here Need to run. Run... run RUN!
But he didn't run.
It was still Rosine.
dogthoughitsadogfangsohgodhehasfuckingFANGS
He opened his mouth to speak, his remaining ear pressing against the back of his skull. "H-Hey... we could be the founders of a 'screwed over' club, y'know? Aha..." he weakly joked, normally husky voice high-pitched, near hysterics.
He didn't back away, nor did he run.
He was trying so hard not to instinctively flee...
"M'sorry..." he whimpered, cowering, head to the ground as he pressed against a tree.
Teeth hurt? No wonder... what with those... fangs...
He stood up on shaky legs, pratically limping over before he flopped back down in front of him, finding himself so uneasy... he couldn't meet him eye-to-eye when he sat down now. "M'trying..." he mumbled absentmindedly, leaning up to reluctantly press his lips against the blue deer's muzzle, a line of kisses there.
Fangs feel better now? Jeebas Christ... FANGS... GODDAMN FANGS...
He frightfully pressed his head against the ground, stifling a high-pitched wail.

He sat back on his haunches, head hanging, whimpering lightly.
"heh....y...yeah...." his stomach twisted itself into uncomfortable knots.
"Jergns, I'm...." he shook his head, it didn't matter, he would go find something to eat later.
"well at least maybe I can protect myself now, y'know? nngh..." his tongue flicks out, swipes over his muzzle.
"you smell really strong now, like lotion"
"Yew okay?!" he hated the
"There's gotta be a way to turn ya back..." he mumbled, lips and body quivering as he pressed his into the fur on the back of his neck, breathing a shaky sigh.
"I guess... but... That's..." go on say it even if you've done a horrid job at it. Failure. Stupid dumbass failure.
"...That's my job..."
The not-so-little stag's comment allowed for him to exhale a half-hearted chuckle. "Hope it ain;t that bad..."

Prickling down the back of his spine, tongue over his lips again.
That voice...
he shook it off, looking around, slowly, for a moment, hackles rising along his back.
He ignored it, or tried to, looking to Jergens.
"no, it's just as pleasant as ever"
His ears flicked, standing slowly, gazing around, tail flicking, a low growl starting up in the back of his throat.
what was that?
Aggressive behavior.
He hadn't heard a thing, so it was only naturally that he assumed the sudden negative actions were meant for him.
In a brief few seconds he had sprung from Rose's front to pressed a tree several feet off, lowering himself till his scarred belly touched the ground, whimpering and shivering violently, his single eye wide with primal fright.
"M'sorrym'sorrym'sorrym'sorrym'sorry..." he repeated over and over, front hooves covering his face as if for protection.
Don't bolt... don't run...
He remained in the same spot, tembling and cowering, but he didn't run.
That alone showed how much he was trying.
"wait, wha---" Jergens
he'sscaredofmehe'sscaredofme
His tail shot between his legs, whimpering, moving closer to the red deer.
"didn't you hear it?" he questioned,
"The voice, him, I heard it, he's around here, somewhere..." he licked his lips again, ears pinned back, hackles raised high.
He came closer, and Jergens,
"D-Dunno... c-can't hear real good anymore..." the little nub of his right ear twitched and spasmed.
"J-Just ignore it, okay? Just..." he sighed shakily, managing to briefly stall his own trembling.
"Gotta get used to this... Need yew here... need to get used to it..." he pleaded, digging his front hooves into the ground.
"oh, well...I can kinda hear
"I can't ignore it, 'ts his voice I can hear it" he howled, but quickly quieted himself.
"well, if you close your eyes, and just listen to my voice, I'm still me, right?" he mumbled, head hanging a bit once more as he flopped down onto the ground, only the size of a collie dog and built about the same.
The howling made him cower a
"Heh... only got one of those now too... but... yer right..." he tried to smile, and finally managed to curl his lips into something genuine.
"I may not be as pretty as I was, but... we're still gonna get through this together, right?" he weakly wagged his tail to and fro, managing to raise himself into a sitting position, his left eye clamped shut.
"I don't care if we can't do it... I'm gonna find a way to change ya back..." he stated, cracking open his eye and offering a crooked smile.
"And even if we can't..." he frowned at the thought, but grinned all the more as a result. Classic Jergens.
"That dosen't mean I won't stop lovin' yew..."

"of course we will, I would never just leave you" he curled up, tail about his body, thick and warm, fur the colour of midnight. So much darker now than it had been when he had been a deer.
I love you too" he mumbled, smiling warmly.
And then up again.
That voice, it made his ears ring.
"Not a monster!" he snarled, lips curling back over his teeth, blindingly bright blue eyes holding narrow slit pupils.
"I'm not a monster! and I never will be!" head whipping back and forth.
"I'm not like you...not like you!"

"Mm... darker fur on ya is nice upgrade too~" he mused, finally gaining a tiny amount of bravery to shuffle closer to him, head plopping into Rosine's 'lap'.
He still couldn't hear anything, but at least he knew that the threats and explanations weren't meant for him.
In an instant Jergens was up to his hooves as well, moving to stand above the smaller dog-like being, still able to even if he had gotten bigger.
He lowered his antlers at nothing in particular that he could see or hear, knowing full well how utterly pointless the gesture was. He was just a stag, and a half blind and half deaf one at that.
His ear swiveled about, trying to catch the voice that Rosine obviously seemed to hear, but hearing nothing.
