I just joined today after playing on guest mode for a while. My name is Kate, hi! So I've already made some concept art for the adult version of my character I'm planning on playing, named Ilanmar. I see how in-depth a lot of users' characters are.
So I was wondering, how did many of your characters find their families? I'm hoping I can meet some people and find a family for Ilanmar.
What was it like for you all when you first started, and how did you get to where you are now in the game? Thanks to much!
hey and welcome to the
well i haven't played this game for long LOL but when i started playing, i mainly just wandered around until i had a mental map of the place and met new people?? i mean when you first play the game you're pretty oblivious so uhm
hmm, my advice on making a family would be via interaction, just walk up to some people and say "oh HIIII" (you might get rejected though, the forest is used both IC and OOC) but after a while you'll begin to recognize them and...well self explanatory XD
When my character was a fawn
As to where I got now, I'd say just lots of diligence. Time put into being in the forest, time put into reading every biography of every deer that La meets and every biography that comes up on recent posts, and time just being a chatterbox on the site getting to know others' senses of humor.
Hey, welcome to TEF! None of
None of my characters have had families (blood relations) here, but they do have circles of friends which they got much the same way you'd make friends in real life. They were characters that mine saw frequently and enjoyed spending time with, and who in turn enjoyed spending time with him.
Sometimes players will post a blog asking if their deer can join a family. Sometimes this works and other times I won't, so don't feel discouraged if nobody comments right away! More often than not people will form character families and social circles over a longer span of time with people they know they get along with. It's common to see players who are friends having characters who are friends (or enemies! haha).
I found all of my TEF friends by playing the game and having my character approach deer In Game. If I had a fun time or had questions about something in particular, I would find the biography/blog of that character and leave a comment about it. That's a great way to meet new players as it opens up a conversation and can help them remember who your deer is (since a lot of characters have more going on than appears In Game). Another way to meet other characters (and by extension, players) that doesn't involve playing the game is to Role Play in text form here on the TEFc site.
A bit of a long-winded ramble but I hope that gave you some ideas!
