Am I Missing Something

Hi i'm new, and I got this game because a friend told me it was a lot of fun when we were talking about another game. Well I got the game, started playing, and I don't see what my friend meant when she said "it's was a lot of fun." I explored the forest, did some magic that changed someones anters or something. Is there something I'm missing in the game?

What do you think you would be missing? I mean, what parts of the game do you think you need to know about to enjoy it?

No, you're not missing

No, you're not missing anything, per se. As the creators of this game say on the homepage, "There are no goals to achieve or rules to follow. Just run through the forest and see what happens."

Of course, the Forest can be a lot more fun when you've got other people to play with - I know the day I truly fell in love with the game was the day I really interacted with another person's deer, playing with them and having fun. This community is a good place for finding such people, whether you want in-depth roleplay or even just some silly spell-spamming.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, perhaps you'll find more you like in the Forest if you keep playing. And if you don't, that's absolutely fine too - not everybody will enjoy the same games.

thank you for replying, i will play the game for a while. Also, is there an easier way to move the camera? In most games the camera is in 1st person, is there a way to get the camera in this view?

The camera can be zoomed in

The camera can be zoomed in and out, told to follow the deer, and rotated. You'll always see your deer, though. You can't see through their eyes. Sorry.

I know this is a bit late but

I know this is a bit late but there IS a way to do first-person view. You need to add a number at the end of one of the file names, then the game will be in 1st person. Hard to navigate at first. Frankly I like to see what's all around my doe.

you go to TEF

you go to TEF Folder-engine-UserInput then click rename and put any number after the name in this file: UserInputForFollowCam.cgr

( example: UserInputForFollowCam14.cgr)

Then you start the game. Doing this while the game is on is pointless. Any number works...I use 14 as it's my lucky number
