Wow... the detail... it's far from amazing here... the markings are so soft and real looking, almost as if you took the original pelt texture and pasted it on here.

Zabrath: Many thanks, Zab. ^^ I used a screenshot of Shy as a reference for her pelt and, while I originally thought that I would grow to hate all of the markings, I think it has become one of my favorites. The Great Argus is really a gorgeous bird, and its plumage certainly makes for a fun pelt. As for your question, do I sense a hint? XD I'm kidding. I would love to draw Edin for ya, if you don't mind waiting anywhere between a week and a few months. Hehe. Seriously, I wouldn't mind at all; while I haven't worked with wood surfaces all that often in the past, I just love playing around with textures and shading.

Avani: Thank you so much. ^^ It sure felt as if I was shading in a million feathers as I was coloring her in. XD It's a rather time-consuming process, but fun in its own tedious way. And hah, I didn't even notice Fled's picture of Paavo beforehand; (then again, I posted this around three in the morning and didn't even notice what was on my desk at the time). Funny stuff. XD

Well this is the only picture I had started to draw of him... I see him as being far more weathered though, being that I see him as being over 100 years... Thick bark on his back; much like you see on an oak, walnut or maple. Softer, smoother bark on his neck and belly.
He would be of course covered in mosses and lichens, and some tones of green on his face and belly from algae and even a few vines(both alive and dead) and maybe even some grass, lol... poor guy is a walking forest, lol...
His mask would be very weathered, maybe even chipped in some places; it's dark in that drawing, but I would have chipped it away some if I knew I could finish it, but every attempt at drawing the bark failed so badly... His antlers as well would be very chipped and such...
