No not You people silly pants.

Users on another site that has a gallery feature. You see, I make papercraft.
Well I decided to post my papercraft there to get input.

My input?

a 1 page tiny paper model of Light I made is rated 5 stars.
Why does this piss me off?
Because it's sitting in the gallery with a 20 page chinese phoenix model that took me 6 months to complete.

And this little blocky piece of crap is rated higher.
I just don't get it TEF. :/

As for people and their ratings.. It never ceases to amaze me either >_> I've drawn crap things, and people comment here and there. When I draw/create something that really means something, no one gives a damn.

First thing that came to mind

First thing that came to mind when I saw the phoenix: "I would so pay money for that!"

The only reason I can think of for rating Light higher is because most of those people are anime-addicts. So therefore anything anime > anything else. And and and... I would like to see your 'pokes. I've been EV-training on Emerald lately, so I'm in a pokemon mood.

I haven't heard of paper craft, it obviously requires skill though.

Maybe everyone is just Deathnote fans? I dunno. But the bird would have rated five in my book.

I'll throw my pokemon up in a separate blog. I make them quite often and still to this day so i might add more in the future and misc. pokemon don't seem apropriate in this blog. xD

I'm glad you people have sense to see which one is better. I thought I was going insane with how much praised got thrown on the little character over my birdy :/

btw: photos are crappy because it's HUGE. If I laid it on that table it'd stretch 3/4 the length due to the table. its so massive I couldn't figure out how to do it well.

As for me, I think your pheonix is absolutely gorgeous. You should be /epically/ proud of him.

I have noticed something a bit similiar on DA with favs.
If the subjects is a wolf, even if the image wasn't that great really and less effort was put into it, people fav it like crazy instead of my better pictures with more effort.
It's a funny phenomenon. Blame the fangirls of the subject.

Figured you'd catch yourself Tera. It was actually a request someone asked so i'm like 'alright i'll do this for my friend' and then.."OMG IT LOOKS JUST LIKE HIM RAAAIIIITTTTOOO" happened.

I'm really tempted to just delete it but I love seeing my name in the 'top rated' of the art section with the good 2-d/digital traditional artists.

It just..irks me so much. xD

Someone said 'hey i

Someone said 'hey i papercraft'
and I said 'i wanna do it!'

and then i bought some cardstock and did? .-.
It just came naturally. Like a jigsaw puzzle with paper and glue.
I started out small and then just got better at figuring out pieces/knowing how 3-d models work and worked up to bigger stuff.

It's mostly patience. I've turned so many frustrating models into 'origami rocks' by crushing them when I got impatient or it didn't look right. Mostly when I first doing it and couldn't make a sphere or square hold its shape. xD

That is awesome. D= Heh, I guess I undrestand you with that, there´s a lot of fangirls there... The Death Note- character is well done, but yes, I can see that a whole lot of work was done for that wonderful phoenix. Just those feathers done invidually... just awesome. Too bad that it isn´t getting the attention it would deserve, but maybe it will get noticed more in the long run. =)

I admire you for beeing able to do things like that... i tried a little origami a few years ago... it endes up with me beeing all aggro and rampaging that stupid book i had for this.. i gave it to a friend after that... |D
