Lifting ears to the sky while again calling outward Xair began to feel as if no one would give the answer he was hopping for. That hope was sinking quickly when a fawn answered him, and appeared. A fawn? Xair hadn't spent much time with fawns before, and quickly looked around seeking it's parents. No where to be seen.
Looking down to the fawn Xair gave a deep bow keeping his heavy antlers high as to no surround the fawn. When it returned the bow Xair felt pleased and turned to the sleeping deer near by to gather a pelt spell. Why not have a little fun?
Xair played with the fawn for many hours, walking along with it finding other sleeping deer and the trees that grew mushrooms for antler spells. Seeing the joy cross in the fawn with each spell it enjoy gave the isolated feeling buck peace and a sense of fulfillment.
At the same time looking at the lone fawn reminded Xair of his own fawn-years, traveling alone for most of the time, and how wonderful it was when an adult paid mind to his being there. Snorting softly, Xair bent down his neck and softly nosed the fawn before laying in the grass at it's side. Simple comfort...from a young-ling, turned out to be just what the lonely buck needed.
