Windows 7

I had windows vista, and today I installed windows 7. The forest won't run higher then 6 fps when I'm not even connected! With vista I got at least 10 when I was connected, and 20 when I was not connected...
Can I fix this? Or is there something to let it work a bit faster..

I was so happy with windows 7, but this is a real bummer.. ):

I'm not sure if this will help but... it sounds like something that happened on my laptop. After an update, the power plan had reset itself from "high performance" to "power saver" and this caused a sudden and dramatic drop in frame rate. It took me a while to figure out what had happened, but switching it back improved frame rate immediately.

See if your power plan is at power saver, if it is change it to high performance

Edit:

and if that isnt the problem then i have no clue.

Maybe it's just bad luck.

Hope you fix itttt

I still can't figure out what's causing this.. Tips and tricks are very welcome. Disconnected I get max 9 fps now, so it's a little bit better, but I think when I connect it will go down with at least 4 fps.

@Sarah Is your firewall

@Sarah

Is your firewall blocking parts of it? You need to make sure your computer's firewall is allowing it to access the server.

Is Windows 7 why my netbook

Is Windows 7 why my netbook can barely run the forest? My laptop does a much better job, and it uses vista. With my netbook, I get a framerate of about 3 when connected; 5-6 if not. I know netbooks don't have a lot of power, but it can run World of Warcraft without much problem. The "starter edition" is installed(it seems most netbooks come that way).

Trying the high performance suggestion.

Honestly, I just don't think

Honestly, I just don't think Netbooks have the capabilities to deal with the high-demands of the forest. I've seen a netbook run some amazing programs... then the forest just kills it.

You may be right,

You may be right, GlobalBeauty. ^^; While high performance mode greatly improved offline play, when online my framerate sits stubbornly at 5 or less. I know my internet connection is more than capable of handling the forest. I guess I'll just have to accept that netbooks are great for travel, and not cpu.

It was worth the try.
