why...

...is there so much bloodshed?

Hooves fly everywhere, blood coats the fur of every deer involved
even the fawns

Please stop the madness!
Can't you see he's trying to run?

let him go

if he is so despicable a creature that so many of you must scar his hide, then
why give him so much attention?
it will only spur him on further.

i don't know what happened.
He could be a murderer, but
not even murderers deserve such punishment as this.

Why won't you let me stop the fighting?
why are you holding me back

but i cannot help but appreciate your concern...

it's difficult to stand here and watch
powerless

He can't even get away. i can see him trying.
Maybe he was always the victim.

i freeze when i see the victimized stag charging in my direction
he slows down enough for me feel it unnecessary to flee
he stops and looks at me- guilt rushes over me as i watch his assailants arrive

Again he bolts.

i watch his form fade with distance and the others' do the same.

an unexpected admirer comes from a night-pelted stag
but i follow my 'protector' instead to a flower patch
joined by two other deer,
We relax.

adrenaline has worn off of all the rest of them
They even tolerate the victim's presence now.

i do not understand.

I am just glad it's over.

The butterflies,
so delicate,
so beautiful,
they flutter.

That ending.

That ending. <3

Outstanding work. The answer

Outstanding work. The answer to the question is : is the deer running away from like a victim, or running to its victim?

Please keep up the work. 10/10

I came here knowing that

I came here knowing that there would be sparring if there were rear and antler emotes.
We have watched many already and we find them to usually be quite entertaining.

We didn't expect to see something at this level but are very glad it was resolved. I couldn't help but feel for the stag who was, in our point of view, the victim. I'm the sort of person who has cried when an ant was stepped on though, haha.
