What's a good graphic novel?

*pokes everyone*

Alright well I wanted to pick up a graphic novel for an upcoming 5-week long trip I gotta take in May. My brother has a couple of them already, but I wanted to try to find something neat to read (we're taking vans and traveling from Alabama to Texas, then to New Mexico, and then to Arizona).

My brother already has Watchmen, so I don't need that mentioned. Already know that's a good one. But basically, anyone have a recommendation for a good graphic novel?

I'm willing to read any style (American, Japanese, ect.), and I like pretty much anything. Feel free to ask me what kind of themes and stuff I like if you need help recommending something.

The Crow! It's by James O'Barr and it's a dark and tragic, but amazing love story. I will always be a bad influence and suggest that. lol

The Sandman is an excellent

The Sandman is an excellent series, but it depends on what you're into. Here are some classics:

Historical: Maus by Art Spiegelman
Action: Y The Last Man (Vertigo)
Fantasy: Bone by Jeff Smith, or Flight--not sure who publishes that, it's a collection
Autobiography: Blankets by Craig Thompson

I was looking at Bone the other day - that looks like one I could get into. I might run by the bookstore and see what they have, I appreciate everyone's suggestions XD

Flight looks awesome too. It makes me think of an anime series I really liked called Last Exile. Might look out for that one.

If you have any others please feel free to let me know! I still have 3 and a half months before this trip.

*bump'd* XD

I picked up Flight volume one

I picked up Flight volume one today as well as another novel of personal interest, Path of the Planeswalkers, a Magic: The Gathering graphic novel.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I may pick up another novel for the trip to go along with everything i have so far. I'm not planning on taking a whole lot of electronics since we're camping for 5 weeks, so I thought I'd bring a couple of books along for the trip. So I'll take Flight with me along with the novel Firebringer, which I got for Christmas. Eye

Futuristic, kinda apocalyptic comic. I had little interest in it at first, but I find myself hooked... You may like it too.
